  1. Well, you'd be as surprised as I am. I just set up a spreadsheet using the number of seats in each section (from a diagram of AAMI Park) and the "available seats" as shown on the memberships page(s). It took a while but it was worth it. I can't say how many GA memberships have been sold, but the number of reserved seat memberships in all sections is...7,833. This of course assumes that the seating plan I have is accurate, but it won't be far out. This is a couple of hundred up on this day last year, and does not include GA memberships. So we are up on last season, quite possibly by a couple of thousand in total. Now that I have the spreadsheet it does not take long to calculate a daily figure. I might do it weekly until the club decides to publish an accurate total number.

Seriously kids your age with Smartphones do not know what Boredom is when you can access the Internet as much as you do during a School Day... the most powerful electronic tool I had elevate boredom in Year 12 was a Casio Graphics Calculator which I could play some Crap Text Drug Dealing Game based poorly around the Suburbs of Sleepy Perth. NOTE: Too this day why Heroin prices were supposedly so good in Gentrified Subi does not make any sense to me.

  8. Tell him to update his address. It's his responsibility to do so, but if you know and don't tell him it's a pretty shitty move. He has a right to vote so you should allow him that right regardless of whether you agree with him or not. Has nothing to do with his English ability. If you know just do the right thing and tell him. See it more as favour to your grandfather if nothing else.

  11. Wazza is a key... the most frustrating thing that I've had with this club is the habit of drawing games we should have won and losing games we should have drawn If Wazza can bring a tough no nonsense Northerner approach to our game, to be able to shut out matches and win ugly if need be, then I'll be happy

  13. As a prominent investor in the OCE eSports scene, all I can say is this is pretty average TBH. Sports clubs getting involved in esports is pretty common these days, partly because they will lose market share to esports, and partly because there is potential for synergies and cross promotion. But when I see a soccer club sign a FIFA player, it shows a serious lack of research. I can just imagine the decision makers thinking "lets get into esports, oh yeah FIFA thats close enough to soccer lets do that'. First of all, FIFA is not one of the big esport titles, and never will be because why the fuck would anyone watch people play FIFA when they can watch people play actual soccer? Games based on physical sports will never be the biggest esport games. So I don't see it as a strong game to invest in. As for the cross-promotion potential, there is a decent case there but you're sill better off going for a bigger game even though it might not be as closely linked to soccer. The biggest investment from a soccer club into esports is FC Coppenhagen with their 'North' team in CSGO, and I think it's going to be a big success for them in the long run. They pay their CSGO players more than most their soccer players. Granted the team they acquired hasn't realised it's potential but still picking up a tier 1 CSGO team is a much better investment than picking up some FIFA player, both as an investment and for cross-promotion potential. Eg if 100,000 people care about competitive FIFA, and 90% of them care about soccer, that's 90,000 people, whereas if 10,000,000 care about competitive CSGO and 50% care about soccer that's 5,000,000 people. Locally, the biggest investment has been the Adelaide Crows acquiring Legacy eSports who are the #2 esports organisations in Australia, mainly because they have a strong LoL team (biggest esport). Rumors are that the Giants are going to acquire Chiefs who are the #1 esports organisation in Australia (because they arent just big in LoL, but also #1 in CSGO which is second biggest esport n Australia). The approach from FC Coppenhagen and the Adelaide Crows is much better tbh, just ditch the idea that investing in esports has to be linked to the sport your club plays and instead just focus on being a big esports brand in general. OR you can go 50-50 like Valencia, who have a Rocket League team (car soccer game, reasonably big as an esport), have some sort of link to soccer but also an actual esport. Still better than just signing a FIFA player. Honestly Melbourne City should just sign me as an eSports consultant, if they did so a month ago I could have easily acquired them the #1 Rocket League team in Australia for example, but they've been picked up by Chiefs now (I know the guy who facilitated the deal). Melbourne City could easily smash the local esports scene, only esport that's close to fully professional is LoL, after that you have the best CSGO team in Australia only getting a $200 a week per player salary for example.

  17. We haven't "nailed our target" as we need to accept that there is a clear cap on our next marquee, with strict instructions not overspend for the right player as Troisi signed for 60k more at Victory. It annoys me that Manchester loans out good several players directly to Girona and other clubs. Just google the MCFC players being stalled in Girona. Read the below article and this might have something to do with Bort coming here. www.mcfcwatch.com/2017/08/10/manchester-city-to-sign-nicolas-freire-from-argentinos-juniors-and-loan-him-to-pec-zwolle/amp/

  18. Yes, but would be nice, wouldn't it, to feel that City were on the front foot with signings? Gets a little frustrating to see other clubs announcing visa players - Sanchez (Victory), Matmour (Adelaide), Andreu (Perth), and Mierzejewski (Sydney) in the past few days. IMO you're going to find it hard to win the league without 5 visa players and 2 marquees.

  20. Fair enough i misread your first post. Its not that risky. A player can be released at any time, they just cant sign with another club in Europe. There's hundreds of clubs that we can poach players from. I see the window closing as putting a big line through a stack of clubs we are competing against, not the players.

  24. That post just assumes an average though, not what's already signed up and allocated ie it shows how a team could be built. So Kosta, Williams, Donachie, Valeri and Sanchez already occupy 5 of those spots and only x amount of the base wage players have been filled. I doubt any of them are under 200k, so that could be at least 1mil of the 1.39 mil gone. Sure they can save on offering less of the base wage players, but that money wont go overly far.

  25. BTW for anyone wondering I am voting YES on the Plebiscite... Also as annoying the Leftist Media is... PPL should think about how many annoying they will be if it fails and then how annoying they will be for the build up of the next time the law is up for change which we all know it will be as the Population of Australia changes. A vote YES really is a vote to take one of the logical/inevitable issues of the Leftist Media so they have try push forward there more ridiculous notions - that PPL will reject accordingly.

  27. looks like we've signed the Dutch dagger Schank , at CB , so just need the #10 to complete the puzzle. I had a call from the Club just now, I had to tell them NO, I am not coming out of retirement to fill the # 10 role Unfortunately it was just them calling to confirm the membership details of myself and the handbrake

  28. We Could do with a Quality CAM which it looks like the club is looking to do with the Marquee spot, but wouldn't say we are very weak in attack at the moment. Add a CB and CAM and the squad looks pretty balanced.

  30. I agree that much is going to depend on Wazza. If he can rid us of our habit of dropping silly points, then that will go quite a way to improving the way we think about the squad and the club. I'm less sure about what we've done in the transfer market so far. If Schenkeveld is confirmed, he looks quite a good pick-up. Jamieson is OK, and although Mauk ruffles a few feathers IMO he's a pretty good player and can do a job up behind Bruno, and score as already demonstrated. I'm less sure about the signings of La Rocca and Galekovic. I'm disappointed that we've let Caceres go. Overall I rate the signings so far as solid but unexciting and IMO we desperately need a no. 10 to add quality and flair to the squad, and I hope we can get that sorted soon so that we can start the season at full-strength. In terms of comparisons with the other clubs, I still see Sydney and MV as the teams to beat. They seem to have already carried the momentum from last season into this pre-season.

  31. Yeah, so many decisions and moments that were played out in whole Episodes in the other Seasons are now being captured in five minutes of Dialogue... the most ridiculous was Jon's reaction to receiving the scroll that Bran was still alive... "So Bran is alive now too... anyhow moving on to Wild Walkers I am going to find one myself and leave the lords hanging even longer... Dany you should help cos your hot... and Gendry I just meet you but you have a sick hammer... also our dad's got on it together back in the old days so you look like a solid squad member to go kill White Walkers with... ". Is he now a Coke Addict... because all of that would have been stretched over three episodes in Season Two or Three.

  33. You do realize Soccer is a just a game... PPL can be interested in any Spectator Sport, at any level for any number of reasons (and they are) I dont see why they need to be honor bound to all encompassing creed about how to follow a particular a sport if they wish to show an interest. And to be called ignorant if they do not. Also FWIW the NT were a lot more popular back (remember we even had a couple of Golden Generation Players) when MHFC started and even during the later MHFC years and that did not stop see the club never manage to truly thrive really at all. And as for the Game needed to be promoted more on a national and global scale... well all that global scale brought me was CFG interest in taking over my Football Club and replacing it with another club who I care less and less about with every passing Season.

  34. Hoping someone can help me out. I managed to get tickets for the Champions League final. The full works - hospitality, accommodation, travel from the Scottish airport of your choice. Stupid, stupid me. I was so excited to get them I neglected to notice that the date clashes with something rather important- my wedding day Having forked out the best part of 4 grand for the football package I'm wondering if someone wants to take my place? It's 4.00 p.m. at the big kirk in Lerwick. Her name's Jessica and she's no' a bad sort. Makes a lovely pot of Scotch Broth and has a right cute wee smile.

  35. I don't get the theory that they are miles ahead of us. out Attacking options a ridiculous and he seem to have strengthened in the back with Jamison, Eugene, La Rocca and the high possibility of Bort coming in. You add a quality no 10 to that 11 and you have the makings of a very impressive side who look evenly spread across the park. People will go and point out that Manny is a weakness on the right, but i'm going to be honest and say Franjic was pretty average at his time with us and never really saw the best of him. Muscat was played out of position in most parts of last season at CB. Not to mention that he rarely got to play with another quality cb for most of last season. I think we're going along fairly well atm. Have MV really recruited that well? They have brought in Milligan and this Sanchez bloke out of Argentina. Both DM's !!! then you add Valeri to the mix and that midfield lacks pace and will rely heavily on Troisi to create in the middle. Barbarfucksheep is probably a like for like replacement in Kalfala and they have also lost the other sheep in Rojas. Besides Berisha, where do the goals come from??

  37. 90% of Wazzas feedback from the sidelines was to close opponents down quicker, tackle harder and run faster. Points worth mentioning...Brattan played behind Kilkenny as DM, Malik played CB, Arzani was most impressive in first half in attack, we weren't very fluent holding possession in the middle to attacking third of the pitch.
