Green Apple
G'Day fellas, Im alex. I've been a supporter of the a league since i was 10, following the victory. On saturday my mate took me to a heart game and I must say i was impressed. I've slowly watched the quality of victory decay and I'm glad that melbourne football has heart to rely on. Go the boys in red!!!!

sharpy
How good is it being able to support a professional football team but have it feel like you're supporting your local suburban team!? This should entice so many more people to our club!

Popular Post Total Eclipse
Hello friends, I was brought up on Aussie Rules and do not claim to know a great deal about the round ball game, but it has been growing on me for some time now. This summer I moved into a sharehouse which happened to have Foxtel and soon enough gained an appreciation for the A-League that I hadn't had before. I actually attended the Heart's first ever A-League match (vs CCM, 0-1) but for various reasons never 'got into' the club or the league, which is something I regret. One of the things which drew me in this season was how much more professional Fox Sports' coverage of the game is than the commercial networks' coverage of AFL ever has been. The play-by-play callers know their players and the game, the special comments men (generally) share useful insights into the match in front of them - a stark contrast to the ridiculous hyperbole and empty rhetoric offered by clowns like Hamish McLachlan and Luke Darcy of AFL commentary. Before I knew it, I was programming the IQ to record the Heart match of the weekend if I was out, and even watching matches between other clubs live if I was home at the time. When I found myself heading to a bar to watch our match last weekend (as I have since moved out of the house with Foxtel), I figured it was time to truly get on board and become a member. And so, today, when many other people were figuratively sharing their hearts with those they have committed to, I made my literal and financial commitment to the Heart. I am as happy today as any Valentine's Day I can remember (and amusingly have more money left in my wallet!). I think this is an exciting time for football in this country and am glad to now officially be a part of it. T.E. Note: I actually signed up early this morning, before I had heard the most recent rumours surrounding Lucas Neill's potential move to the club. Although I won't begrudge anybody who signs up on the back of such a recruitment (on the contrary, every extra bum Neill puts on the seats [should he come here] is a happy bonus), I'd just like to make it clear that the timing today was coincidental. mattyh001
Hi all, Have been a Heart member since the start of season two. Followed Victory when there was no one else to follow but cracked it with their overally direct style. Being a country lad, it just doesnt cut the mustard to follow a team that has cheap success built in years where the league was still growing. It makes me laugh every time I hear a Victory fan ramble on about the past and how they are the "big and best" team in the league, yet it has only been under Ange and a foriegn style to their success that has them playing well. It also makes me laugh when those same people lament Victory for trying to be methological for the simple reason they have been shite is years gone past for trying to play too direct (aka the way they played in the early days). But I digress. What I love about Heart is they have tried to build the club from scratch with the right mentality on the pitch. Hasn't always worked and there have always been a few bad decisions made by those in charge, but at least they are there. The club is doing okay financially too, which is great to know the club is setting itself up well - even if that forces the club to be a little contradictionary from time to time (ie selling the better younger players to balance the books but leaving the team short in terms of short term ability).

mattyh001
Where in the country are you from Matty? Ballarat boy, born and raised. One of the great thnigs over my time following Heart is actually seeing the number of Heart shirts constantly grow on train trips. Ballarat took to Victory pretty well, but now you start to see more Heart gear on train trips (and even around town!!!) so its good to see the club actually getting support around the place.

sculls_6
I'm Nick, from Ballarat- now Geelong. Long-time Heart fan, well as long as you can be. And don't let the Cisse photo fool you, I actually know a bit about the game. Love a bit of banter, although the negativity of forums can get a bit much, so will see how long this lasts.
