Peter
And, finally, this week Greek-Australian midfielder Andrew Govas will try to earn a contract with the Heart after originally planning to trial with the Wanderers What do people know about this bloke? Murfy1
It's Andreas Govas btw. The article messed up his first name: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/244950,govas-looks-for-a-return-home.aspx
Tbitm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andreas_Govas from what i can gather from wiki, he was scouted by a 1st division Greece team, immediately loaned to a fairly bad div 3 team. Played well enough to get signed by a good French ligue 2 team on a 6 month contract where he didn't play a game and according to this http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/andreas-govas/profil/spieler_69454.html he is worth $150,000 (aus)

borris
sign him and Grella and we won't have to worry about membership as well have the majority of Melboune's ethnic community covered ( seems like we have already covered the Balkins). biancorosso7
From that video, set piece specialist? Could work now there is no Sarkies.
cadete
From that video, set piece specialist? Could work now there is no Sarkies. Rofl, Sarkies barely takes half of the set pieces at Bergers. But I def agree if this bloke can deliver some good set pieces he could offer a valuable asset that was missing in our side last year. Murfy1
Played very well, maybe man of the match IMO. Pretty good with freekicks as well (something Heart haven't been so good at). Definitely sign him up.
Sash
Certainly looks good enough for an A League contract. But I'm a bit cautious about performances in these games given the opposition and that triallists will probably tend to go harder than the regular seniors. He was definitely looking to impress and was close to our best, if not our best I thought. But I missed some of the game because I was distracted by how good the kebapi rolls were.
Defibrillator
Also was good with the corners despite a heavy ball and muddy turf. Put the ball reliably in to very testing positions. Agree with you Sash - he was looking to impress. But his work ethic was fantastic and his communication on the pitch was great. He looked like he belonged.
jw1739
Hope to see him and the other triallists at Port on Wednesday evening for my first look at the boys this year. We've played for two seasons without any real threat from dead-ball situations, so we certainly need someone like him.
Shahanga
We've played for two seasons without any real threat from dead-ball situations, so we certainly need someone like him. A good point. He has to be good enough (or liked by the coach) in general play to get on the field though, or it'll be the Sarkies situation all over again.

LR9
Played really well, was involved in a few scoring chains and his set pieces were good. Must sign him up, really big talent.
marteaux
Played really well, was involved in a few scoring chains and his set pieces were good. Must sign him up, really big talent. This. Will be awfully disappoint if we don't sign him. Gives us quality balls through the middle and would come relatively cheap.
Jake
what position has he been playing in the last couple of games? i thought he was a striker?
Footballism
I thought he was fucking rubbish. Might be getting him confused though. He was number 11, yeah? Shot every time he got the ball ffs (like on his youtube video tbh) His corners were wank too. Govad and Hoffman were the only 2 players that I thought played bad tbh. LR9
No, number 10.
Caddy
Good to hear he did well. Who was #11?
biancorosso7
If Fred were to go down, I would think that Govas could really show his value in the side being a cheap signing, but with talent. The corners he ripped into the box in the second half were very dangerous and attacking, something lacking last year. He's got good pace, nice ball skills and he seems hungry. Footballism
Fair enough, I have shit eye sight so struggle to read the numbers lol. Was Groenwald the one taking corners (which were pretty shit, despite scoring one) and shooting every time he got within 40 yards in the second half then? cadete
I am falling sure Footballism is talking about Govas, and I agree with him that he seems way to hungry for a goal late in the game. I am hoping it was due to wanting to impress JA.
