from what i can gather from wiki, he was scouted by a 1st division Greece team, immediately loaned to a fairly bad div 3 team. Played well enough to get signed by a good French ligue 2 team on a 6 month contract where he didn't play a game

and according to this http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/andreas-govas/profil/spieler_69454.html he is worth $150,000 (aus)

From that video, set piece specialist? Could work now there is no Sarkies.

Rofl, Sarkies barely takes half of the set pieces at Bergers.

But I def agree if this bloke can deliver some good set pieces he could offer a valuable asset that was missing in our side last year.

I mentioned this in the transfer thread before it was closed.

Adreas is a great guy and also a great player....I'd be more than happy to have him at MHFC.

JD and SM get that contract ready!!!!!

Welcome to the forums, Andreas.

I am guessing Andreas can spell his own name, even I can do that. ;)

hahaha I'm not Andreas guys but I do know the guy...I've been on the forums for a while, I just dont post much

and yes I made spelling mistake...get over it lol

It was mainly a joke about my own infamous poor spelling mate, all is good. :)

Also personally I hope Andreas signs, be good to have a talented player who started of at the Olympic Village in the squad.

Certainly looks good enough for an A League contract. But I'm a bit cautious about performances in these games given the opposition and that triallists will probably tend to go harder than the regular seniors. He was definitely looking to impress and was close to our best, if not our best I thought. But I missed some of the game because I was distracted by how good the kebapi rolls were.

We've played for two seasons without any real threat from dead-ball situations, so we certainly need someone like him.

A good point. He has to be good enough (or liked by the coach) in general play to get on the field though, or it'll be the Sarkies situation all over again.

If Fred were to go down, I would think that Govas could really show his value in the side being a cheap signing, but with talent. The corners he ripped into the box in the second half were very dangerous and attacking, something lacking last year. He's got good pace, nice ball skills and he seems hungry.
