  1. Maybe. But given that, clapping him off shows respect for heart/city because of what he did for the club when he was a committed, or at least contacted player.
  2. I saw Newcastle play Aston villa at St James Park in about 99. A villa substitution resulted in everyone in the stadium clapping off the villa player. Fella next to me said it was because he played a few games for Newcastle and therefore he always had their respect. I thought it was a very respectful thing to do then, and I joined in clapping Kalmar off on Sunday. One of the reasons I love our game.
  3. Eli had a shit attitude and we certainly don't need that.
  4. Was better last week. Clearly got complacent securing the six week contract.
  5. Not necessarily so. Injury-replacements are outside the salary cap. What we appear to have done is stuff up our management of the cap itself, and that is what is preventing us signing the extra players we need at the back. Quite what JD and JvS though they were doing is beyond many of us, but nevertheless they still seem to have their loyal supporters out there... I would have thought that the door is still not quite shut on a defensive reinforcement, with Connor Chapman still out with glandular fever...I can't see why we cannot get an injury replacement to cover his absence as well. Or is long-term sickness such as glandular fever not considered an "injury"? I also think that if JvS would get off his "high-press" high horse for half a season we could do better at the back. Bring in Archibald as a CB and move Wielaert to LB would be OK as long as Wielaert sat a bit deeper. Hasn't this cap issue just been caused by paartalu coming available all of a sudden, late in our list development, and the club using basically everything they had left because they knew how important it was to bring in a quality defensive midfielder? Such players don't come available too often so I understand why they took that step. It has caused issues but it also helps us build for the long term with his 4 year contract.
  6. Poor he didn't do a walk around. Time to move on.
  7. That's the JVS tactic. Wingers play on non preferred side so they drive in with the ball. Might change with crosses needing to come in for Kennedy
  8. Orlando was back earlier than expected too. My memory is that simone improved our fitness program considerably
  9. Villa worked well as a sub for Spain!
  10. Fox sports showed the starting line ups half time of the jets game
  11. Hopefully Koren is at least on the bench
  12. Solid decision. We're probably lucky he didn't leave tbh, a rather late resigning from memory.
  13. Scouts would identify player type, availability as well as quality. Duff and Koren are both here because of the scouts. Just because we haven't signed some unheard of South American gem doesn't mean we are not benefiting from the scouting network. Orlando was a superstar for us, but securing someone like him was an exception to the rule for our previous administration. I doubt that we would have Duff and Koren without MCFC behind us.
  14. I'm sure it was previously reported as 7,000 so I reckon typo
  15. Stick villa on the wing, jesus up top. Done.
  16. He's the best player we've had at our club. Hands down. Well maybe except for villa. But duff is currently more here than he is.
  17. And that happened in the very few minutes he was actually given on the park.

  19. And I hope he shows mifsud how its done
  20. Murfy1, from all your posts you clearly put in a lot of effort to keep up to speed with developments on all things heart/city and I for one appreciate your efforts in posting this info. Thank you
  21. Outstanding question which I'd like to know the answer to. But I suspect the answer is no.
