  1. Thanks to Stone Island Manc and everyone who has responded to this thread. As the designer/producer/contributor/print liaison monkey/distributor/general dogsbody of Schip Happens! it is always heartening (npi) to read positive feedback on the fanzine. I too spent hours reading Red Issue and United We Stand on match days for many seasons at Old Trafford and that is one of the reasons I got behind the Heart fanzine in the first place. I love the unique attitude and sense of humour of UK football fanzines and we attempted to bring some of that to Schip Happens! We also preferred not to accept funding from the club as we could include independent contributions that were not always complimentary of club policy etc. As it was free, we never had a problem with takers for the fanzine but it was never going to be sustainable unless we worked hard to get regular sponsors or ran 2 or 3 successful fund raising events per year with heaps of volunteers etc. We had a top group of contributors and a great relationship with the Heart printer (Print Supply Management), so thanks to everyone who helped including all those guys and gals who handed out SH on the steps at AAMI Park in rain or 40 degree shine. As Bozza has mentioned, Luke (Editor) and I have taken a break due to work and family commitments, but we intend to make a comeback at some time in the not too distant future. As also mentioned, funding the fanzine has been an issue in the recent past and if this can be resolved, or if we can come up with a satisfactory alternative delivery method, then we may see a return of SH! sooner rather than later. I'm not sure Harry K would be keen to be a philanthropic contributor, especially after our 'What a waste of money' centre spread from the derby issue from December 2011! But you never know. For those that missed issues of Schip Happens! they can be downloaded from the facebook page. Below is a reminder of the covers. Feel free to download an A3 version for your bedroom walls via the link below. Cheers, Robinho https://www.hightail.com/download/OGhmYUlzNnltUUZMWE5Vag

  3. I detect a lot of passion from fans at the moment about what is happening to this club. I hope the club reads this and doesn't see it as a negative, as long as we're unhappy and angry and want change, the club is safe. Its when fans become indifferent that it spells the end for the club.

  5. Last time I met you it was similar circumstances. It was the 24th of February. You looked good that day. We had fun. Since then I have lost you. I had many chances to see you again but you always slipped away from me. There is no reason why you're not going to be there this Firday. I would really like to see you again. I've missed you. If you really care about us, you can stay for a while. Especially when I'm not at home. Last time when I saw you away from home was again to similar circumstances as this Friday. For God's sake...come back to me....I'VE MISSED YOU!!!

  8. Consider this an invitation. Bay 16, up the back near the dreaded black tarp, join me and the Dutchman plus a few other assorted characters as we support our capo and grow the culture of support for our beloved Heart. See you all at the Imp on Friday afternoon.

  9. Hi guys, been working hard on both android and iOS to get the apps ready for a QR code reader and hope that both will be available for the game. Ahead of that, I'm looking at creating a header for the chant sheet header, which has a simple step by step 1-3 guide. 1: Download the app (a link and QR code to save people typing) to bit.ly/yside 2: Show a couple of chants, including Chant of the Week along with QR codes to launch them in app (for audio/video) 3: Link to the forum to encourage more people onto it. Who is the best person to send this header to to prepare some chant sheets ahead of the game?

  10. Yarraside for iOS and Android has been updated with new features and bug fixes. If you haven't already downloaded it, download it before the game. Make sure you update the app if you already have it.

  11. He might well become a fantastic coach. The question is, where does he get experience? Coaching the firsts in top level competition is not it. Player/managers were all the rage a number of years ago but that practice is no longer popular for a reason. A number of players drop down a couple of levels, get experience and then step up to the top jobs. I don't think anyone would think badly of JA if he said he was out of his depth and wanted to move back into NYL or an assistant position under someone he could learn from. I think this would be a good face saver and would be respectful to JA who has been identified as having potential and has been a good servant of our club.

  15. Sack a developing coach to hire another developing coach - Phenomenal move .... Hire a bloke that you knocked back for the same position 24 months ago - Outstanding move .... Pay the former coaches contract out (over half a f**king million), the new coaches contract and Port Adelaide compensation - Fantastic move .... Hire a bloke that coached under Knights, Ratten, Rohde and Hinkley (another bloke the board knocked back 24 months ago) - Superb move .... Knock back Choco Williams due to him being "High maintenance" when it comes to interaction with thwe board, when the board are either smug, egotistical wankers who've never laid hands on a footy and have checkered business pasts or dumber than those flogs at the TAB who you see cashing in other punters scrunched up tickets for NIL PAY - Great move .... Fuck the board, Fuck half the list, Fuck half of our fans and most of all FUCK YOU PELCHEN.

  19. Just because someone on a forum said the top four sides are better doesn't mean that's an attitude at the club. The way that suddenly became another example for people to point to of 'accepting mediocrity' shows what a stupid cliche it's become. Anyone who watched us play Brisbane, Mariners and Wanderers can't seriously think we didn't go into those games trying for anything less than 3 points.

  21. I'd be staggered if this hasn't been brought up before but I couldn't see it anywhere in the last few pages. Rod Stewart's You're in my heart, a song he wrote at least partially about Celtic FC. Some great lyrics here, take your pick of the verses really. I didn't know what day it was When you walked into the room I said hello unnoticed You said goodbye too soon Breezing through the clientele Spinning yarns that were so lyrical I really must confess right here The attraction was purely physical I took all those habits of yours That in the beginning were hard to accept Your fashion sense, beardsly prints I put down to experience The big bosomed lady with the dutch accent Who tried to change my point of view Her ad-lib lines were well rehearsed But my heart cried out for you You're in my heart, you're in my soul You'll be my breath should I grow old You are my lover, you're my best friend You're in my soul My love for you is immeasurable My respect for you immense You're ageless, timeless, lace and fineness You're beauty and elegance You're a rhapsody, a comedy You're a symphony and a play You're every love song ever written But honey, what do you see in me? You're in my heart, you're in my soul You'll be my breath should I grow old You are my lover, you're my best friend You're in my soul You're an essay in glamor Please pardon the grammar But you're every schoolboy's dream You're Celtic, united, but baby I've decided You're the best team I've ever seen And there have been many affairs Many times I've thought to leave But I bite my lip and turn around 'Cause you're the warmest thing I've ever found You're in my heart, you're in my soul You'll be my breath should I grow old You are my lover, you're my best friend You're in my soul You're in my heart, you're in my soul You'll be my breath should I grow old You are my lover, you're my best friend

  22. So we've had Williams playing no.10 whilst Mauk is on the bench often unused. Now that Kalmar is back from yet another injury he is put straight into the starting line up. Why not play Mauk from the start and then either bring on Kalmar who seems to struggle to play a full match at best of times or move Williams into the playmaker role if things aren't going well? I like Kalmar and hope he tears it up, but I don't want to see him with yet another injury which will probably be the end of him at Heart (like Fred who helped him last season).

  26. He had an artroscopy and a 'tidy up' rather than a major knee procedure, however given his history I'd think that 6-8 weeks would be prudent.

  27. I was told Kisnorbo was out for 8 weeks the day after he got injured from a very, very reliable source. They said 2 weeks in the media but I'm backing that he might not play until around Christmas.

  29. Hopefully kisnorbo and Miglroni are back. As much as I love paddy g, every time he gets the ball he tries to do some bullshit long ball. He might save you a goal or 2, but he'll always break your offensive flow.

  32. What worries me is that the bar is set so low at the moment that any movement up the ladder will be enough to secure JA's spot. Let's say we start winning here and there and end the season in sixth. Maybe we lose the first final we play in or even manage one win. So JA gets to coach again the following season and maybe Heart come sixth again... or maybe fifth (yay!) or ninth. You see what I'm saying? Now that we are so accepting of mediocrity (it's been over three years of it remember) Heart only need to make the finals and it will be considered a massive success by many. Even if Heart improves a bit over the next couple of months I still want him gone. I don't believe in him and I doubt the players do. Waiting for him to suddenly become a skilled coach is like a wife waiting for her abusive husband to stop hitting her. It's stupid, people don't change, or at least VERY rarely. And for them to change, something drastic usually needs to happen. JA needs to go coach in some backwater of Scotland for a few years or kayak down the Amazon. End rant.

  33. With respect that's Aloisi-speak. Every game is worth 3 points, and we should be doing everything we can to win every game, not just those against teams we are "on a par with." Conceding mentally that we're not as good as four of the teams in the league basically means that we're conceding that we're not going to do any better than mid-table. That is just not good enough and is why MHFC oozes mediocrity from every pore and is now being labelled an "innocuous little club." Platitudes like 'every game is worth 3 points' and 'we should be doing everything we can to win every game' are worthless. Of course every game is worth 3 points, and of course we should do all we can to win. We can beat every team in the competition, that's something that's been true since our first season. And that's a point both JVS and JA have made multiple times. And of course we should do all we can to win every game because every game is worth 3 points. But, if you're realistic and you understand things like probabilities, then you can't ignore that there are 4 sides in the competition that are significantly stronger than the rest at the moment, CCM, MV, BR and WSW, and we've played all 4 of them in our first 5 rounds. And given that the A-League only has 10 teams, if we beat Sydney and Newcastle every time we play them then we are highly likely to make the finals. Also, Adelaide, Wellington and Perth are sides we can get a lot of points off. Whinging about attitude is besides the point. I know we can beat the likely 4 top sides, and I'm certain we'll get some wins against them this season. I'm actually pretty confident we'll beat Victory in our remaining 2 games against them, so I expect that we'll have 1 draw and 2 wins against them this season. But we'll get the majority of our points against the other 5 teams.
