Caddy
Good post, Colosimo is contracted until end of this season http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/simon-colosimo/aufeinenblick/spieler_29581.html
InMyHeart
Good post, Colosimo is contracted until end of this season http://www.transferm...eler_29581.html I originally had that as my source but i realised that website was wrong and it basically said 30/6/13 for every player. I then looked at the list of 11 heart players out of contract at the end of this season and he was not on the list. I used that list just to confirm some of the players
samardzija
IMO tadic and macallister are basically the same type of players.... Although tadic is faster, more agile, fitter and 10 times better. With this we need another terra, like we have seen recently rojas and archie are tearing shit up and it hurts me while im watching it. tadic with someone like a terra would be ideal IMO Tadic and DMac are two different players, Dmac isnt a goal scorer, hes just a target man and is a mediocre A-League player at best. If we want to be a serious title contender, having Dmac in the squad of 23 players is a joke. Tadic is more of a complete striker, can link up with midfield, take on a player, can hit a pass and most importantly he can finish when he gets decent service. Signing a player like Terra would be a stupid move, Terra offered nothing to the way the team played, he couldnt play any of the 4 positions along the front line. He is not a natural goal scorer (no.9), a playmaker, or a winger.
The Aardvark
My memories of Terra (admittedly I didn't see much of season 1 so I may have missed something) were that although he was everyone's favourite player, I never actually saw him do anything of note. I have seen videos of his goals and all, but live I always found him very underwhelming.
Melburnian
Terra is old news. Wasn't good enough and agreed with his release. We need a capable, pacy player who knows where the goals are, as I think Gol Gol, Tadic and Garcia are the first choice front three for mine. InMyHeart
i dont want terra so to speak, i want a striker that isnt just tall we need a rojas or an archie, they dont have to be amazing, but i dont see the use of having tadic and DMac and no other strike option, youth might have an answer
heart_fan10
in other words we needs a different type of player than tadic to give us some variety and different options up front to accomdate for different playing styles.
Melburnian
Gol Gol doing a better impersonation of what Terra did. In Gol Gol we have a potential star. Our own Rojas. He has great feet, amazing pace and has developed his finishing. Takes corners, free kicks and gets the crowd off their feet. Easily marketable too. The club should utilise this aspect of him. I see him as our next big star.

They are in a completely different class to Terra.

Totally agree another tick for our development. Youth was our culture, we should never stray from it! We are very good at it. Can't wait to see Edwards and Mauk progress also.

Bozza
Best signing of last season easily. Germano will prove himself though, give it a few weeks and if he is back to where he was, re-sign him! bam

PAheart
Garcia gerhardt germano musts. That's a spine right there. Keep gol gol, behich, thompson, dugandic. I would cash in on marrone if possible, plenty of kids to fill roll. Williams has changed my opinion this year, aloisi has done well with him. Collosimo, Bolton -testimonial games at end of year goodbye. Also I hate to say it Fred pretty close to this category. Scrap heap- tadic, dmac, Hoffman, kalmar

No I don't count last season, he's only just returned from a massive injury so before the club re signs him, they should wait and see how his performances/fitness are between now and the end of the season. mus-28
I'd rate Germano in our best 5 players along with Garcia, Gerhardt, Tadic & Behich. Making sure these 5 are all signed up for next season should be priority number 1. I'd imagine Williams will be re-signed on reduced terms if at all, same as Thompson as a squaddie. Hoffman, DMac, Colosimo, Bolton, Fred and Gray all need to go. Walker and Michinson should at least be full-time on minimum wage, plus Mauk is on our roster for next season. Would like to see Dugandzic re-signed, and play in the attacking midfield role behind Tadic. But think he is more likely to try his luck in Europe in the off-season. PAheart
Back to Croatia?
Melburnian
Looking at all the guys that should go at the end of the season, we will have a bucketload of salary cap room. Colossimo, Bolton, Thompson, Fred are all on major money. Hoffman and Gray would be on decent coin, Gray gives us back a VISA spot. We have the foundations of a very talented team, without these guys. We can really make a mark next season, adding younger, hungrier players as well as a couple of absolute superstar players from overseas or returning socceroos. This season isn't over yet, I am going to enjoy 2013, hopefully finals are beckoning for us, but with the emergence of some great young players, our core mentioned above of very talented established players, next year if done right could well be a massive year. Melburnian
Bresc is exactly what we need in the midfield. Exactly. A signing like that and maintain the foundation we have, will be massively positive.
kontra.11
Bre$ciano will never come back to A League. Same as Luca$ Neil... Both money hungry.. Re-signing Tadic should be priority as soon as possible to show that the club is ambitious.. Edited January 8, 2013 by kontra.
Hazzaverx
Have to remember, players like Thomson, Fred and colosimo are all leaders for the club, get rid of all 3 and it leaves a gap in the presence on the training and change rooms, it's not all about performance, but also team chemistry - this opinion has been brought to you by a Milan fan that has watched his golden lads leave and see his team plummet
borris
Thompson and fred have to go - colosimo has stepped up this year (latter half and most likely thanks to PG) Agreed cannnot get rid of all out experience but we need a midfield and RG, PG and SC shold be enough. Libero
we can build our team around Redmayne, Gerhardt and Tadic. i would keep Kalmar, and he probably deserves a contract going on his potential. germano is a must keep. just a bit unlucky with injuries at times. and cant believe gol gol isnt on $500,000 a week.
