Footballism
A bit late as I've been busy since last weekend but my thoughts on parramatta/the match etc. As Ando and a few of the others have said Parramatta was quite a nice area, not nearly as scummy as I thought it would be. The pre game pub was great, probably the best pre game pub I've been too. Turnout was one of our bigger ones but was still quite disappointing considering it was the first time we played WS. There was probably 40 or so Heart fans in total at the match (we were spread over quite a few bays) and there was probably only 15-20 of us chanting. Was quite impressed with the numbers of RBB on the march. Seemed to be full of flogs with facepaint/bandannas over faces, american sports teams hats, vans etc. though. Noise was decent but not really any better than most other clubs. Chants were a little boring tbh, and like FB said, I found the "we will never betray you" chant amusing considering the core of your support seems to be ex-sfc. As others have said security were pretty useless at the match. Didn't know what they were doing and were happy enough to let the WS fans come into our bay but starting picking us out when we stood our ground. The "escort" was pretty effective too, lasted to about the road then left us. Not related to WS, but what's with all the Arsenal fans in Sydney? Had to have seen at least 10 people wearing a "carzola" shirt while I was there.
Bravas
If sydney peeps gave a shit about this league like they do for the epl.. Then sydneys scene would be mental.. But everyone here would prefer to follow a club in england over their local team.. A team that they wouldnt prob ever go to see and have no connection too besides youtube and tv.. Everyone has the mentality "epl shits all over the aleague so im not gonna even bother going....." i might be one of the only knts that doesnt follow a specific epl team here in syd. Chants will get better in time dont you worry about that.. Its still in the processes of getting everyone involved rather than bombarding people with 100 chants. And yeah security at parramatta stadium are spastics.. Boys have already had dramas only after 3 games.. They are used to NRL fans so that would explain it.. Perhaps the security in the away section only thought it was a bit of banter. As they would probably see weekly in rugby.. With time i hope they move the away section to behind the scoreboard southern end.. Wod be heaps better

Benched
For those mentioning the irony of the line "we'll alway's support you and never betray you". FFS some people are picky. 1stly, the majority of WSW supporters have never followed ESFC or any other HAL team. Stop tarring everyone with the same brush. Further, by default, those that did, had no choice. As football fans, who want to support the a league, what else do you do. Finally, do you not get the fact that by singing that line it also sends a message that, yeah, some of us jumped ship, but not anymore coz we finally have our own team. Just a question, how many Heart supporters used to go to Victory matches? Oh, and Jimmy, no one likes a grammar nazi. Tokyospliff
Based on a recent survey of WSW fans over 83% of them were Sydney FC fans. These statistics prove that WSW are a club of traitors and turncoats. You cannot argue with facts. ^^ Edited November 10, 2012 by Tokyospliff
Benched
Tokyo, don't be a douche. Show me a link to this purported survey. hahahahaha. BTW, anyone going to answer my question re. Haydos
Everyone has the mentality "epl shits all over the aleague so im not gonna even bother going....." Completely agree, fucking pisses me off. If they really are true 'supporters of football', they will get behind the local game, support it and help it grow. Hope they enjoy wanking to the sound of chanting from their TV screens for the rest of their lives.
Tokyospliff
Tokyo, don't be a douche. Show me a link to this purported survey. hahahahaha. BTW, anyone going to answer my question re. Victory matches attended by Heart supporters. and Jimmy, no probs mate. Ladder match. I would give you the link, but this information cannot be trusted with the western Sydney community as it would be manipulated and changed to give the club a good image. And creating false statistics for the sake of proving a point is something that i frown upon. So no i cannot give you the source of the statistics but i reassure you it is a very reliable and professional source.
Baresi
BTW, anyone going to answer my question re. Victory matches attended by Heart supporters. Pretty sure that when Heart members were surveyed, the numbers were around 5-10%.
Benched
Thanks Ellki. That's surprisingly low. I would have thought a greater percentage would have been following their 'local' A League club for the sake of supporting the game. Considering that was the only option at the time. Tokyo, sorry mate, don't believe a word you say. If you have a link, it's obviously in the public domain, and therefore I cannot see how it would be 'manipulated'. BTW, I don't like your tone re. the western sydney community cannot be trusted. I also have very good information, from a trusted source, that 73% of Heart supporters are on social security benefits. Sorry, I can't release my source as I don't want the club to manipulate them. FFS. Edited November 10, 2012 by Benched
Ando
Most people were waiting for a club for true believers that didn't need to be propped up by Uncle Frank's gold.

Look for FWIW I have no problem with a WSW supporter leaving SFC to support his local team, I agree SFC are a Eastern Suburbs teams and u cant blame someone for wanting to support their true local team IMO. But seriously stop the shit talk mate, have u ever wondered why we get knocked by other clubs (Esp MV) for having one of the smaller supporter bases in the league? Its because unlike u blokes we picked up literally next to none turncoat supporter from the older A League club in town. Benched
FB, yep, that is me. Nothing wrong with supporting the a league when you don't have a team. Also, haven't dismissed the turncoats argument, just not as high as what people say. And, certainly not just ESFC supporters. More so, you should ask why I used to travel past Sydney to support a team. I think it's a bit of small cock syndrome when people keep bringing it up, while being in denial about their own club. KSK_47
Being an FFA club I think they were always going to try and control and mold your terrace into what they want it to be. One big advert for them basically. The issue seems to be that what they want Australian terrace culture to be (similar to an afl cheer squad) and what it actually is are two completely different things. So rather than sit down, talk to the ones involved in active support (which is one of the big selling points for soccer) and try to come to a compromise, they say "if you dont behave the way we want you to, we are going to send in goons to pepper spray you."
Benched
Yeah. It's pretty fucked atm. We've tried to have dialogue with the cops and hatamoto stooges, however, it's like banging your head against the wall. They gave us an ultimatum on Friday regarding our march to the stadium. We said get stuffed. So we've done that and gotten nowhere, so we'll never talk to them again. As for the stadium management, absolute pack of cunts. They think they are Santa Claus and can reward good behaviour with priviledges. Well, we'll see how they like an empty home end, or a home end with backs turned to the field and silence for 90 minutes. Sounds over the top, but it's heading that way. Anyway, 2 weeks time against Victory will be interesting. We fully expect the riot squad to give us all a nice Parramatta welcome.
