jw1739
so....... how about this Villa bloke eh? Everyone connected with this farce over David Villa should hang their heads in shame. They have, IMO, deliberately set out to mislead our supporters and season-ticket holders, and I think that is absolutely disgraceful.
Kiro Kompiro
Was mortified this morning when Bolton confirmed my beliefs about the club for the last however many years. I can't remember it word for word but he basically implied "It's different now when I'm not playing, you start to realise how much it means to people and how it can affect their week etc., when I was playing it was just rock up, play and go home and you didn't really let the results affect you" Fuck me. The guy couldn't event remember Engelaar's name. And some of the things he's said has made me think:" What you know now, but didn't give a fuck when you played". I don't know him personally but Was mortified this morning when Bolton confirmed my beliefs about the club for the last however many years. I can't remember it word for word but he basically implied "It's different now when I'm not playing, you start to realise how much it means to people and how it can affect their week etc., when I was playing it was just rock up, play and go home and you didn't really let the results affect you" Fuck me. :hkpalm: :hkpalm: :hkpalm: And he was one that showed more passion than most Sure did. Top bloke though and is as close to a man crush as ill ever have lol. I remember having a very similar conversation with him at my wedding this year and about the possible color change as my wedding was a week before the changes were announced. Didnt mind the colour changes as his kit always changed and never felt the passion fir the red and white kit as field player does which is fair enough. Did also say he missed playing big time and he found it hard with the change of lifestyle from playing to back room. Great that SEN have this bloke on. If there is any changes in backroom staff, I hope he isn't one of them Why? Coz he chatted at your wedding? The guy has said several things that make me think he didn't give a rats arse about the club and was not emotionally-invested in it. In fcat he';s spoken more highly of his time at SFC then his with us. Couldn't even remember Engelaars' name. Its just a job to him. One of the one's that we need a clean break from to go forward
Shahanga
so....... how about this Villa bloke eh? Everyone connected with this farce over David Villa should hang their heads in shame. They have, IMO, deliberately set out to mislead our supporters and season-ticket holders, and I think that is absolutely disgraceful. Well said jw. Bizarrely whilst most of the time i find this forum forms into lynch gangs at the drop of a hat, it has been surprisingly quiet and forgiving about the questionable conduct of the City and CFG management over this issue. Frankly I think the behaviour is so poor that its an open question whether the franchise has stayed within the trade practices act. After everything we've seen and heard from CFG to date, I have dropped all expectations and now have a "see = believe" policy towards them. I know this comment will disappoint those who are still coated with "the fairy dust"* but I have experienced nothing from them to earn either trust or respect. Looks like Sidwell Mark II to me. * thanks to cadete
Tesla
It was comedy hour again with our club with Clint Bolton in the studio not knowing officially that David Villa wasn't coming back but JVS breaking the news. Even JVS stated he didn't know if it's official but stated it was.The people in charge at the club are shit. It's plain and simple. A shambles of an organisation. If CFG don't move soon to get better people involved then there will be no recovering. Then Andrew Gaze asked the question about Josh Kennedy and when he will be arriving and JVS stating he didn't know exactly. Gaze was perplexed and stated how doesn't the club know when your star is arriving.Just a complete shambles. Nothing has changed from the Heart and that is the biggest issue confronting this club.Didn't you get rejected for a job at the club and that's why you always have something negative to say about the administration? I'm a tad offended as I have met you a fair bit last season. Well yeah it is a CFG bungle but the constant unprofessionalism at the club is the same it always has been. It's just below expectations of a professional club. This morning as a passionate fan, we'll it was embarrassing listening to be honest. Shahanga
Ran into Christian 7 today. Looks like Villa jetted in last week and he, Koren, Kennedy (who has been training the house down in the land of the rising sun, apparently) and Germano will start.

jw1739
It probably doesn't matter now, but has Villa really been involved in that "promotional work" he was supposed to be need in New York for, apart from posing for a couple of photographs of the NYC kit? Nope just the photos. Pretty clear now that new york pulled the pin. Probably because lampard is looking to extend his stay at Manchester Not sure where you got that from but it's completely wrong. He was the headline attraction at the kit launch, was part of a player/staff meet-and-greet session, I think he may have done a couple of autograph signing sessions and also some interviews. He's been pretty busy since he came back to NYC. I'm still of the opinion that it was supposed to be Lampard who was at all of these events and that it actually was Manchester City who are to blame for the whole thing. Heart_fan
Villa looks far happier back in NYC with his family than when he was here. Looking at him with a smile on his face in pix is a world away from his grumpy look when he was here. I still dont understand how CFG got that so wrong. Apparently Lampard was happy to come, so if Villa was having 2nd thoughts about it all, why not just try and make a player swap for the guest player. It just went to show that there are far too many people in the CFG organisation that seem to run their own space with no regard to others. Anyone involved in management at Melb City would likely have had no clue on what was actually transpiring until late in the piece and then had to try and do some damage control. Thats how it all came across.

The concept of having players move between the sister clubs is good, so let's hope that CFG and the three clubs have learned from what happened and won't make the same mistakes again.

I am very very pleased to say I saw David Villa play for my club and to witness him score his first goal in the Aleague I think any criticism of David Villa himself during his time here is pretty harsh. He seemed to do everything that was asked of him and didn't seem outrageously moody to me. The problem was that he was finding his place in a team that hadn't figured out what it was without him. Put him in the team now as it's starting to click and he'd be going at better than a goal per game.
