Sash
James Brown, aka the Godfather of Soul, is fricken awesome. What's the matter with you people. But I'm not sure about this. I didn't vote for it because it doesn't strike me as the right thing to play after a goal. I really like 60's, 70's soul/funk. It's great music and I could get right into hearing Curtis Mayfield's Move on Up or maybe Stevie Wonder's Superstition for example. But it's a very American music, and specifically black American. So I think it would sound really normal at an NBA game, or for any American sport. But it's quite different to the sort of music you associate with football - songs that crowds can sing along to. It comes across as a bit of a clash. I'd prefer no goal song, but bringing 70's funk and football together will make me happy. And it will only be for a few seconds. But I'd prefer either I see Red or Song 2. Edited October 17, 2013 by Sash
theresonlyonebzamora
Couldn't agree more sash. Sadly I don't think we'll hear Otis Redding anytime soon

Jimmy
I realize it's not the same genre but I'm probably the biggest Johnny Cash fan alive under the age of 21. Should play Get Rhythm.

Jimmy
That Jerry Lee Lewis song Lewis Boogie that they remade in walk the line wouldn't actually be thaat bad.
RoyalHeart
Results aren't bad except for that awful goal song. Bit embarassing tbh

loriente
Reckon most people didn't know what Song 2 was. Should've had WOOO HOOO!!! tbh youtube links in the survey wouldn't have gone astray.
CaNNaVo93
They clearly haven't played FIFA
Nate
They clearly haven't played FIFA 98 Heck, there's plenty of good goal song options if we're going down the FIFA path! 05, 08 and 09 were really good from memory, always thought "Always Where I Need To Be" by The Kooks from 09 would make a great chant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh_-IoHD6oM
jw1739
Well, I don't think the song thing worked today. There simply isn't enough time to have both a walk-out song and a club song before the kick-off.
Jimmy
I was enraged when they played liked four seconds of James Brown when Flores scored the first penalty. There was just too much retardation at once.
Cinnamon
I'm glad I didn't notice that, was fuming as it was. It must be said I didn't notice jimmy brown after our goals either so all in all I'm quite happy with the choice in that case

Jestr
Must say that walk out version of "when the heart go marching" was way too fast and it belonged at st kilda match
alexiano
When Yarraside did it straight after SHT was brilliant.. Right on the back of the silence and was well heard
n i k o
I didnt mind 'wake up' but it hasnt got anything to do with heart ...ive posted this song in the past and stand by it...replace wake up with this as the first song played before the game...the lyrics actually have meaning and releavance to us supporters of heart, and has a great melody that not only can inspire but can actually be sung along with. And itd be much easier on the older members ears as well Id love to know who actually suggested those songs in the survey....most are cringeworthy. No songs after a goal either...i wanna hear the supporters not a song.
