Tommykins
Jesus, imagine the Morwell away trip top Bendigo. Ours doesn't look too bad this year, we're classified as 'East' and there's a lot of clubs, I think our big trip is out to Ringwood.
Ando
Ah we should be so lucky! Last season we had to go to Albury. I'm currently barred from Paddy's.

MaliMate
Start in about 3 weeks. Club I play for has moved home grounds to Melbourne Knights' outside pitch which has made me excited. Finally get to train on the ground that I play on aswell which I haven't done for about 4 years. Anyone heard when the league structures/fixtures come out? Seems this stupid NPL rubbish is delaying everything.
Tommykins
The NPL application form closes on the 20th of January, but a preliminary list of teams was expected to be announced today. 7th of February is the date for the final fixture announcements, however the season was expected to start early this year, so who knows how all those things fit together. Peter
Our club's pre-season has been postponed for a week due to the heat. After today I think it is wise. Mind you, being soft, maybe it won't be that good a season?
Tommykins
Felt good getting out on the park last night at a much more humane temperature, skills were a lot more sharp and the running wasn't as bad. First games start in early February, couldn't be keener.
Victards
Majority of the VPL clubs will be accepted into the NPL with Bulleen being the only club outside the VPL who will be accepted into it. Can almost guarentee Richmond won't be accepted in due to the stadium requirements. Just what i have heard and from very reliable source/s. Watch the NPL fuck over clubs and juniors with all the expenses that are required on a yearly basis.

Footballism
Apparently FFV wanted just one division but FFA have told them the must have two, hence no structure released today Wonder if this will affect the cup draw tomorrow or the league Tuesday. Avondale Heights ROFF. This is destined for failure. Surely will end up in a second division with the likes of "Bendigo Amateur Soccer League" (lol). At least Avondale Heights would have been in State 1 this year.

Footballism
Really don't see how this is going to work financially. How are regional clubs going to afford travel every week (incl. Junior teams) all over the state + all of the qualified staff they require etc. and be expected to compete. What parent is going to spend $1k+ on rego fees to play for Avondale Heights when there are bigger clubs like Melb Knights, South Melb etc. around? Anyway just for interests sake + I'm bored Div 1?:Bentleigh Greens - Greek Cypriot - VPLDandenong Thunder - Albanian - VPL Green Gully Cavaliers - Maltese - VPLHeidelberg United - Greek - VPLHume City - Turkish - VPLMelbourne Knights - Croatian - VPLNorthcote City - Greek - VPLOakleigh Cannons - Greek - VPLPascoe Vale - Macedonian - VPLPort Melbourne Sharks - Greek - VPLSouth Melbourne - Greek - VPLWerribee City - Italian - VPLRichmond - German - State 1Sunshine George Cross - Maltese - state 1Moreland Zebras - Italian - State 1 Div 2?:Box Hill United - Greek (?) - State 1FC Bulleen Lions - Italian - State 1St Albans Saints - Croatian - State 1Springvale White Eagles - Serbian - state 1Avondale Heights - Italian - state 1North Geelong Warriors - Croatian - State 2Brunswick City - Greek - State 2Dandenong City - Croatian - state 2Eastern Lions - None?English? - State 2Kingston City - Greek - State 2Whittlesea Ranges - Italian - State 2Ballarat Red Devils - Aus/none - state 3Surf Coast - ? - State 4Bendigo Amateur Soccer League - NewGoulburn Valley Suns - New The numbers have actually worked out pretty well for the state leagues though. Assuming teams will be pushed up to fill the gaps, every league will now have 12 teams (minus 1 team, so hopefully a Metro team can come up) which is the ideal number so each team plays against each other twice, rather than having 15-16 teams in each State 5.
