cadete
Kind of funny that Aziz gets the callup after one of his worst games for quite a while... Inb4 - Aziz lovers cry: "He was out of position". Edited November 7, 2012 by cadete

cadete
All it really shows is that our National Team has reached such a breaking point that it is now well and trully offical that it is actually easier these days to make a Roos Squad than a Notable European Club Squad. They guy cannot Shot or Cross and yet he gets the nod. Edited November 7, 2012 by cadete

Behich to save the NT. Shame that this game won't tie them down to Aus, silly FIFA laws, friendlies count for caps but dont count for stopping a player representing another nation. cadete
TBF, Whan was this ever not the case? The squad that played to make the 2002 and 2006 WC's barely had any local based players from memory. schrecky
The team needs to find something before the next WC qualifier in 6 months. Since there is no international break , it makes sence to experiment with our local boys. We might even uncover some hidden potential, or at worst case develop some more talent... I like Aziz - he is probably our fitest, fastest player. The call up might give him more motivation to go even harder.

It be hard to find someone that disagrees that the NT needs to go down the Youth Route. At least if Aziz gets a go it should be at LB, hopefully it can help his defensive abilities... yelawolf
needs some Mooy in there tbh, been one of the top 3 performers this season. why no Kruse? been one of the best in recent games happy for the Heart boys though
Baresi
Great call-ups in Leckie, Rogic, Aziz, Babalj, et al. Very good for the boys themselves, for us as fans, for Holger and staff, and for the players as a whole = great all round. The issue from here, though, is that they actually need to PLAY. It would be a bit of a let-down to bring them into the squad, and not give them any time on the park, and makes it smell even more of a media make-up. mus-28
Rumoured starting XI v South Korea Schwarzer McGowan-Neill-Spiranovic-Thwaite Valeri-Holland Ruka-Brosque-Oar Thompson What a fucking joke if that's the XI, Starting Thwaite at LB is a laugh, and Brosque has played like a steaming pile of dog wank recently. As for Archie, everyone know's he's only useful against shite opposition in the last 20 minutes. If this is the XI I'm emptying my Sportsbet account on a South Korea win. Only positives are McGowan, Holland, Oar and Ruka in the team, Neill wouldn't even make the XI for Woori Yallock Wolves U14 Girls on current form. mus-28
Cornthwaite in for Spiranovic. South Korea paying $1.91, seems like money in the bank. This could possibly be the slowest back 4 ever assembled. Edited November 14, 2012 by mus-

Tesla
as soon as I saw the run down the wing I knew that would be a goal. Torn Asunder
Michael Thwaite at left back??? Wtf ... and a goal conceded just like that, through the LB zone ... Holga, play Aziz pls
Che
What a joke, does Holger even understand how friendlies work? What the hell is the point of bringing a young squad of fledglings over to Korea if you're going to play people like Thwaite who aren't ever going to get a proper first team gig. Made worse by the fact that when we lose, Holger will jump on the 'youth aren't ready' train. GTFO Holger. Also with bringing in Cornthwaite as a local in Korea - couldn't it have been Hammill? mus-28
Don't know if Holger has a learning disability, but he should note that Ruka does his best work on the right, running at players cutting in onto his left foot. Leaving him isolated up front with the human scarecrow that is Brosque is pointless, especially with the Koreans playing so deep. In a perfect world for the 2nd half: Ruka - Rogic/Leckie - Oar Babalj
