  1. I actually think our shite attack is a problem of JVS rather than the players. When you watch us go forward you can tell there is no real game plan which means that our attacks are predictable and slow. If JVS issnt sacked I would hope at the very least we get a great attacking coach as another assistant. I think this is what Triani does in a defensive sense and I know Ivan Jolic was hired because of his coaching of young players. This. We've had various combinations of forwards over JVS' 4 years that should at least have been decent/good by a-league standards, and he's failed to turn any of them into a cohesive and dangerous strikeforce. The main reason I want him gone tbh.
  2. A chance at our first ever top half finish..
  3. Are you on crack? Yes it was a shit game to watch, but did you fail to see the bigger picture here? A game like tonight is the sort of game us supporters have been crying out for. We fucking won bro. That's the difference between mediocre and good teams. You want something to cheer? Dude,we won tonight and pretty much guaranteed ourselves finals football. Your sooking is worse than Mrs sheepdog Can someone get this man a snickers? The bigger picture is that we played shit, uninspiring, terribly dull football, as we have done for 5 years. It happened to get us 3pts tonight against a very understrength opposition who still outplayed us. And it's somehow going to sneak us into a finals series that luckily for us includes a team from the bottom half of the table. If you think this game highlighted the difference between mediocre and good teams, it very much showed us to be the former. I think most of us hope to see a bit more than that from this club.
  4. It's nice watching new players before they get turned to shit by our club/manager.
  5. I'm pretty sure this whole "CFG style" thing is way overblown. All I remember them saying about it is that they want their teams to play entertaining, attacking football. That's pretty much what every single owner/administrator/manager says when arriving at a new club, so much so that it's a preset press conference response in football manager. Judging by the style JVS has been employing (ie. exactly the same formation and boring-as-shit football as when he was first here), I'd say CFG have had very little input whatsoever.
  6. I always enjoyed the midweek games, very relaxing having a whole bay of seats all to yourself.
  7. I am hardly a Williams Fanboy and even I think his performance against Brisbane warrants reselection... the only way I can see us winning this game without Mooy (And Koren) is by sitting back again and relying on Williams speed. Relying on Williams to win us a game. Yeahnah. CCM are a rabble, don't see how they'll score against us let alone win. 3-0 City. Well building from the back has so far won us nothing but a couple of draws, a loss to Adelaide and a flogging from the Mongs. I'll forgive you for not having watched any CCM games this season, they're awful. If we play like we have all season we will no doubt win. I may exaggerate at times, but I do firmly believe we would win this game even with John Aloisi in charge. We won these types of games more often under Aloisi. I'm pretty sure he won more home games in his first season than JVS ever has.
  8. I'd say it's more likely that he plays fairly similarly to how he did at Brisbane, but that his teammates and the system that he has to play within are now far inferior (reducing the impact of his strengths and highlighting his weaknesses). Should probably be in the Murdocca thread, but I think he's being overly criticised.
  9. Agreed but we rarely get less than our number of members to a home game, and coming off a win with what would have been a big Saturday night tv audience I am confident we will see over 12k Strong optimism, though it's possible this could be our first crowd of 10k+ without some sort of sideshow attached to it.
  10. He also scored a double and 4 other single goals, making it 0 in the 20 other games. Mifsud > Williams.
  11. Dani Alves of the a-league, but with better crossing.
  12. Because his brilliance will be so obvious we won't even need to point it out?
  13. Can the tea leaves tell us why Walker keeps getting announced in the team pre-game?
  14. Probably the best player we've ever had. Captain next season.
  15. More likely we aren't playing him because he's been shit all season.
  16. You only posted it a week ago.. but I mostly agree. Is that two weeks in a row they've announced Walker in the team?
  17. Depending on the wage, it's probably a worthwhile signing. Can be a very dangerous player in this league. Putting the pronunciation of his name in the article seems a bit bizarre..
