  1. Will be surprised if he doesn't succeed at another club.
  2. Mifsud is fairly competent at most things, just can't score in a terrible team. I wouldn't say he's any worse than the other players in the team atm.
  3. Anyone got an update on our records? The 19 winless games equals the Knights, but what's our away streak up to now? And the winless games after falling behind record? I think that's my favourite..
  4. We aren't good enough on or off the ball to play this style of football, but it's better than what we were doing before. At least this way we can control games and say that we're at least trying to play good football.
  5. Aloisi pisses all over the floor and then blames the ref.
  6. No doubt JVS will want the job, and if he gets some improvement out of the squad for the rest of the year (not hard) I can see them giving it to him. Unless the new owners have different ideas altogether.
  7. What was said? What did he say? We spoke to him as the hardcore of the supporter base. About how much money, effort and time we put into the club with tifo, away trips and singing and that we want the coach and players to play with the same passion we show them when our club plays. That we want the team to play for us. We weren't happy about how all the players and coaches left the field (bar Redmayne) without acknowledgement of us, and we let him know. That it's not good enough to only acknowledge us after getting a reasonable 3-3 result against Adelaide a few weeks ago. That we're hurting like they are and we want them to face us through the bad results and not just the good ones. We made the point of us having a supporter meeting with the players and coaches during the week, to help us get out of this rot and get them playing for us. And Aloisi said "that would be a really good idea" and that would be helpful if we could get group of us down to training this week so he can get the players over for a talk to us. A few lads spoke about tactics, signings and player selections with him. Which is always difficult to talk about as supporters from the outside, because we're not there day in, day out like the coaches are during the week. I got the impression that he would love to do more but that they are very much hampered with the small budget they have to work with as coaches at our club, which comes down to the board. Getting rid of Aloisi alone won't fix the issues. He acknowledged that a lot of us had chanted for him to go. It was a frank discussion and at times a little heated, but to his credit he didn't shy from any questions. As he and we suggested. Should he remain in charge, the best thing we can do is get down to training this week and speak to the players and try and get the team playing for us. People can speak on here all they want, but I'm dead sick of losing, if us getting down to training can be the start of a culture change then I'm all for it. Don't really see the point of this tbh. It seems to buy into Aloisi's idea that all we need is a bit more passion and hard work (and luck, obviously). I would say these are two areas we don't appear to be lacking in. It also continues to imply that the players are the problem. No matter how hard you work, you aren't going to become a successful club playing counter-attacking, long ball football at home against the 2nd worst team in the league.
  8. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/dec/23/a-league-what-we-learned-this-weekend How much longer can Aloisi last? Sixteen games without a win. Four points from the first 11 rounds of Season 9. Rock bottom on the ladder. How on earth has John Aloisi managed to keep his job? Is his penalty-kick legacy really that great? Perhaps he has incriminating photos of Scott Munn or John Didulica taking selfies in Melbourne Victory jerseys from the pre-Heart days? Or is it that the board at Melbourne Heart have fallen for their own #HeartBelieve advertising campaign? Considering the standard, Aloisi is leading a charmed existence at the lamest club in the competition. Lord knows coaches have been sacked for a lot less. Witness the shambles at Perth Glory this week. After Saturday night’s loss in the Melbourne derby, and the usual laundry list of reasons why the world has wronged Melbourne Heart, it got to the point where Fox Sports pundit Mark Bosnich asked Aloisi whether he would consider resigning. Really. Of course, that won’t be happening any time soon. With only 10 teams in the A-League, coaching gigs don’t come up regularly, and once a coach gets in with the big boys, the natural instinct is to hang on like grim death. Somebody at the club, however, should put Aloisi out of his misery.
  9. I see it as more of a gradual decline from the moment Aloisi was hired. Most fans doubtful about the decision but happy enough to give Aloisi a chance to prove us wrong (most fans on here tip us for bottom 2) -> Occasional wins and improved home results placate the fans during a terrible season -> Fans hopeful that an improved squad will make up for Aloisi's weaknesses (most fans still tip us to towards the bottom) -> Awful start to the season leads to protests etc.
  10. Perfect time for a rebranding if it was going to happen tbh.
  11. Simon Hill also mentioned it during the broadcast, something along the lines of "they may have new owners in the coming week, we'll hear more about that later".
  12. Because Aloisi has strongly implied this in every single press conference this season. I know it's easy to start blaming him for everything but this is one of his major failings imo.
  13. Absolutely. We lost because we played terribly for 60mins and played well for 30mins. 2-1. Goals come from defensive mistakes or good pieces of attacking play. These things happen to every team, every game. Controlling the game gives you the best chance of coming out on top. We never do.
  14. Shit footballers who act tough are overrated.
  15. You need to clearly define what you mean by "creative" to even begin this discussion.
