  1. Lol. As stated before, the Australian public are awfully nostalgic and have short memories. The same polls that admonish Abbott / GIllard's lack of popularity purport significant support for Rudd. ALP need to start winning back swing voters. ALP diehards will probably prefer Julia but aren't going to preference LIberals ahead of ALP if Rudd's in power anyway, so the party might as well accomodate to what's popular amongst swing-voters, which is clearly Kevin Rudd. If they don't, then they aren't trying to win seats and they might as well all stop being politicians because they clearly have no idea how to gain support of the electorate / aren't even trying.
  2. Wielart's played for PSV, Ajax and Twente, ain't exactly middle table.
  3. Pretty much the same for me atm except i'd want to push Vranks in to CB and play Gerhardt further up the field in the DM position occupied by Germano. Keen to see how he'd play in his preferred position. Germano is great cover and i think he's great but based off his performances last season i'm not sure if he's starting 11 for a finals ambitious squad. That being said, if he's completely shaken his injury and back to how he was playing in season 2 i'm more than happy for him to be there. Competition for spots big up on last year that's for sure!
  4. http://au.fourfourtwo.com/Gallery/243287,day-in-the-life-of-ljubo-milicevic-pic-special.aspx/1 Sign asap. Surely the most ridiculous person in Australian Football. Fucking hates Muscat as well
  5. Not even any sort of marquee? Great signing imo. assist at 1;43, good head on him.
  6. I think that should be Troisi's spot in the future, wasn't that impresse with Oar either tbh. Though that said, takes time to meche in with a different squad playing a different style of football than what he's become accustomed to. McKay looked a little shaky defensively at LB, would prefer to see Zullo there. Thompson actually did a pretty decent job, not worthy of the commentary orgasms he was receiving however. Almost think they should be starting rogic over holman given what he did in the last 10 minutes too.
  7. Antonis ruled out by quad strain.. EDIT: they replaced him with Galgor, should have picked Amini though.
  8. IF Rudd manages to succesfully shake the burden of having to accept responsibility for the previous PM's purported woes, he could effectively make this an election competitive by bringing some sort of strong 'new vision' for the future and making Australian believe that he was a seperate and ostensibly different entity to the term that preceded him. Abbott wouldn't know how to respond as his campaign is built solely around attacking current PM's woes. Rudd is also supremely more popular with the electorate, would make an incredible difference imo. Could be the greatest political maneouver in Australia since the sacking of Whitlam. More than likely however it will just save Jason Clare's seat. Would make the election interesting.
  9. Good money on next Tuesday for either leadership spill or Gillard stepping down. watch this space.
  10. If anyone is interested in the issue by the way, or looking to get help, or concerned about a mate especially in this cold, wintery, a-league free exam period, Beyond Blue have launched an excellent website recently:http://www.mantherapy.org.au/home.html
  11. But seriously, in response to the above question of what should be done regarding suicide, i think the answer is more in combatting and assisting those with mental illness than any sort of change regarding train barriers etc. More money spent on Mental Health from the government, including Mental Health first aid as part of the curriculum extension at high schools- or at the very easiest the provision of funding for more counselling positions at all high schools. Funding to make the provision of bulk-billing psychiatric care and increasing the ability to access those services with increased funding for translators as well is absolutely critical considering a significant enough number of people who suicide are refugees with limited perhaps less than perfect English skills. Improved knoweldge of the general population of the early signs of a mental illness is the only way we can stop this epidemic. As someone who has a lot of personal experience with mates with depression, and unfortunately a few who have comitted suicide, the accesibility to resources for a lot of people is frankly shite. Made worse by the reluctance of young males to seek help in the first place considering the taboos and constant popular culture reminders of the importance of being manly and dealing with it, hardening up, etc. Such a tragedy. Anyway, carry on.
  12. ffs north melbourne. Miserable game, season basically over now. Should tank from here on in - not that we're finding it difficult to lose games or anything though. But, then again, ain't nobody seen a percentage like ours at 4-7.
  13. Yeah, I was doing well that day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iSD9lPVY6Q
  14. Lol. I was once entertaining a close mate and some of his friends from WA in Melb and two of them asked me: "What is the word Melbourne PPL call PPL from Perth.. CUBS". Turned out all four of them thought we had invented the word "CUBs: Cashed Up Bogans solely for West Australians. Lol dont know how i wrote Cab instead of cub. Triple J voters are idiots and need to stop being spoonfed crap music by Triple J presenters.
  15. I could see David Bentley in the A-league imo Yeah perhaps, he would be the most realistic of the targets. Quite a good one at that too, would tear up the wings of the league. Not sure what his wage demands would be though, likely far too high for him not to be a marquee.
  16. Also Released today: Roque Santa Cruz WIlliam Gallas Florent Malouda David Bentley But i can't see any of them being realistic targets for any A-League side.

    Harry Kewell

Heart HQ showing up the skeptics with three already key signings by June.
  20. "One of three goalkeepers selected, Anthony Bouzanis is also the brother of Dean Bouzanis who was the Qantas Young Socceroos goalkeeper at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Egypt 2009" Being the brother of a goalkeeper in a previous tournament doesn't warrant selection. I've never seen him play A-League for Sydney FC and they had two shocking keepers last year, surely there are therefore better candidates than him floating around. IE Liam Jacob.
  21. who the fuck is Anthony Bouzanis? Also think Dylan Tombides and Massimo Luongo should have got a run over a lot of these blokes.
  22. have had on repeat for about an hour whilst i try and finish this fucking assignment.

    Harry Kewell

He'll probably start training for 2018 in that case then.
