  1. I'd assume a marquee winger. That's why resolving Arzani's future is the key to the other signings we need to make. Not least as well because if he stays another year, it's much more likely that he would become our second marquee, as Mooy did.
  2. I suspect that for us it all now depends on Arzani. Once his future is resolved I suspect we'll quickly see a lot of other pieces drop into place.
  3. Croatia are probably in a small minority of European nations who don't have a substantially multicultural soccer playing base and international squad. England, Belgium and France do, likewise Germany and the Netherlands. It simply reflects their societies. Like Australia, it is surely a source of strength, and a unifying force. In Australia, Croatian heritage Australians are part of that diversity. Indeed, given the number and strength of Croatian heritage clubs and players, its a very important part of Australian soccer's strength and diversity. So having a crack at the French squad for being overly diverse is a bit rich...
  4. This implies we'd play wing backs. 3-5-2 works for England because they have high quality wing backs like Trippier. We'd need wing backs not full backs, and our wingers would be redundant. I'm not sure our list is built for this. In any case, we're set up for 4-3-3 which means we play three in midfield anyway, either a 6, 8 and 10, or a combination of 6s and 8s.
  5. Usually we've been equal third ish with Sydney. If that overall pattern is maintained and memberships across the league are down then fingers should be pointed at the FFA.
  6. That doesn't sound fabulous but at this time of the year is probably par for the course??
  7. As an England fan, well done Croatia. We could have won it in the first half, but we didn't take our chances. Croatia came out a different team in the second half, worked hard, played as a team, got their tactics right, and took their chances. And they didn't try to win by kicking lumps out of us or throwing themselves to the floor. Croatia did it the right way, so credit and good luck to them. Fully understand how much it means to their supporters.
  8. Another place that will reek of fish and hypothermia...
  9. Grimsby or Scunthorpe in January, with freezing rain howling in straight off the North Sea....
  10. Signed up for two City Blues, right next to you active buggers. We had full season memberships in 16/17, but only 3 match memberships last season, so this is recommitment....
  11. Well he'll definitely put bums on seats and create a buzz. Any good? I'll wait and see. Used to be brilliant but is getting on a bit...
  12. One of ours on here? Fabulous story...
  13. Plastic. Unconvinced that this would do anything other than cannibalise support from the two existing Melbourne clubs.
  14. Pissed off that Tasmania has been dumped. We'll end up with another Sydney and Melbourne team, just as we feared. Dull, dull, dull...
  15. Didn't seem like he was going to get a game with us. Good luck to him, I hope it works out well.
  16. Sponsored by the Toyota Yaris. Words fail me.
  17. Just to say that it's great to be back. I've missed the place....
  18. It's scripted. Arzani will win it for us against Peru. Mooy assist.
  19. Classic Arzani. Playing just like he does for us, but at the World Cup. We'll struggle to keep this lad... And just like in the A League, gets mugged, and no foul...
  20. I don't know whether that says more about the relative quality of the A League, or the lack of it in Scottish football...
  21. And Budzik. I suspect a lot is going on behind the scenes and we'll see a few more things resolved soon. Personally I'd be wanting to keep Malik and Brattan in the squad, but I guess we'll see.
  22. Not going to join the haters. Best of luck to Marcin. It didn't work out, bloke is probably feeling pretty bruised by the experience and probably happy to be back home in Krakow. Seems someone may have dropped a bollock signing him, but more inclined to look forward and hope for better.
