  1. Quite happy to hate Aston Villa even more for this (sorry @rass). I'm a Walsall fan by upbringing and birth and Villa are hated local rivals anyway, so it's not a difficult step.
  2. Bloody good news if that is true. IMHO the best thing for Arzani, and for us potential proof of the competitive advantage offered by CFG.
  3. You may be right. Understanding this stuff heads straight for 'life's too short' territory for me though. Does my head in.
  4. Unless it's changed in the last six years, there is a loan window which starts in the UK once the transfer window shuts. So certainly the closure of the transfer window isn't the end of the road, though it may provoke some other solution of the sort mentioned by BT.
  5. Similar observations could be made about Australia. It projects an image of being a place founded on the values of maverick, outlaw bushmen and larrikins, but is actually a place where people stand by the side of an empty road waiting for lights to tell them when it's safe to cross...
  6. It certainly feels like someone is being a jobsworth, rather than thinking of what is good for the player, or for football. Not sure whether that's FFA, Villa or CFG.
  7. If that's the case, what a bloody waste.
  8. My concern too jw, and I feel like the hype machine is already overplaying things. I just have to hope that, as above, we are the ones to make that offer.
  9. 'No player should demand to start'. Tim, that's exactly what you did, live, in front of s national TV audience. Marks for sheer chutzpah, if not consistency...
  10. Thinking about this I can see it being difficult for us to keep him. The hype machine is already into overdrive, and there will be people already whispering in his ear about how much he is worth, and themselves eyeing the cut they will get. In a salary capped league we haven't a hope of matching the sort of figures that will be dangled in front of him. His sound long term development may well be served by another year in the HAL, which in turn will deliver an international call up if he maintains current development (and that will make it much easier to get the visa he would need to play in Europe). However I suspect a big money offer from an Asian club will emerge, and he'll head off following the money. It may work for him, but it's a much bigger risk if he doesn't find the right support and development structure.
  11. I'm afraid the latter largely clouds my recollection of what went before at the moment.
  12. But you are taking sides, despite saying you're not. You've done the same on the Arzani thread. The common thread is that you'll advance an argument which is broadly critical of the manager. We get it, we just don't necessarily agree.
  13. I've made my points below the line in the article itself, as have many others.
  14. This article is utter crap. Suggest as many as possible get on there and say so.
  15. Wout Brama attempts to break Cory Gameiro's leg. Cue silence from the CCM bench. Going off their manager and his talents. Jury out.
  16. Brattan credits Joyce for his improvement in form.
  17. Agreed, insightful stuff. Very Xen. Close to red in my book.
  18. Georgievski should be off the pitch by now.
  19. The least we deserve. And Georgievski lucky still to be on the pitch. Really nasty studs up tackle.
  20. That's it for me too. We've been wanting players who stayed around and became part of the fabric and culture of the club. Bruno looks to be planning to do just that, and Wazza is making positive noises too. Very good news, and hoping for a swift return.
