  1. Sydney FC is rumoured to sign Siem de Jong (ex Ajax captain)....I really start to wonder how Sydney FC again manages to squeeze all these players in their cap. They only just signed Le Fondre.
  2. It’s pretty standard nowadays to give your second keeper game time in the cup.
  3. Opinion, fact or feeling - we should all care about the fact that we are unable to attract more fans and retain the current ones. Since you were having such tough debate with Citizen, I wouldn’t mind hearing your thoughts on why the fans stay home and why some are so unhappy about plastic club feel? We can’t say these people aren’t true fans, or don’t exist.
  4. Good to see some discussion here on this topic but it always gets nasty for some reason when a opinion doesn’t fall in the right street of a select few. I fear that we are seeing members dropping off year after year since the take over until we actually start wining something. New members will eventually replace the ones who loose interest, but a a core 3-5k member will remain. I can actually relate to your statement as myself and 5 friends have still not renewed due to lack of excitement, it’s just dropped year after year since the take over. We have been members for years. I’m an old Heart and Manchester City fan and at first I thought this take over was just genius but I’m starting to feel the lack connection with the club, I’m yet to pintpoint it - it might be a identity and character thing what I’m missing. Certainly poor football and a boring coach doesn’t help to get the fence sitters back onboard. Small example what annoys with the club is some attention to details, so we are bringing more red in the campaign great but at the same time we add a black colour away kit, which will definitely be used at some away games. The red away kit hasn’t been modified and still looks tacky with the big stickers, they have invested more time on the black top than our traditional red kit.
  5. I’ve seen some comments on here about people objecting getting a player in like Ross Mccormack because we have Bruno. Usually I would say there is nothing wrong with having another quality striker? It can very well be that Bruno won’t repeat his first season form. I get the feeling that Wazza is seeing this second striker role for Vidosic because we have no other options on our list. I’m reading that we are looking to bring in a visa defender and a attacking Mid, I’m hoping this Marquee is capable of banging in some goals.
  6. Horrendous refereeing but I have to say she’s doing the right thing by denying Bruno’s tumbles, he needs to remove that from his game.
  7. I’m lost with Warren Joyce still. If you loose Luke Brattan as a playmaker, you bring McGree in that role and bring a winger on. 2nd half we play long balls because Griffins and Malik don’t want the ball and have zero creativity.
  8. I don’t understand why some think these games are pointless or you can’t take anything out of it. In my opinion such games against better opposition are excellent to see who can deal with less space, quicker thinking and faster football. Joyce can take a good learning out of it, wether he sees what we see is a different story. Some points to work on. - Fornaroli really needs to start make variations in runs and come into spaces. Game plan is always the same with waiting for defenders to run in his back causing fallovers, poor touches and playacting for free kicks. A simple acceleration towards the ball or in space can make a big difference. - Delbridge still can’t defend and lacks football skills, as we know struggles at A League level too. I can honestly say we would have lost with 3-0 without him. - Wales, is not suited to play as a 10. He might be talented but doesn’t seem gifted enough if you compare him to Caceras or Vidosic. One thing really stood out for me on how lazy he is, in his running and tracking back. - Galekovic needs to retire as these games should be games where goalkeepers battle it out for first spot. - Experienced players like Jamieson, Halloran and some extend Brattan really seem to struggle, clearly visible when put under pressure. Passing, first touches need work. Then again that’s why they play in Australia and not Spain. - Atkinson frustrating to watch at times with excellent moves and ball control followed by a bad pass.
  9. Didn’t Larocca travel to India? Still not fit, would have thought he would at least be on the bench this game.
  10. Champions still have to qualify only the hosts get a wild card to enter tournament. Germany played 10 qualifying matches and won all 10.
  11. Really? My thoughts, they backloaded his 3 year deal, this to fit him in last year’s team (remember all these questions about how they managed to get so much quality under the cap). After playing for peanuts the first season, Sydney now is trying to break this deal.
  12. Have I missed confirmation Malik's gone or not extended?
  13. Is this the Visa winger you’ve mentioned in a previous post?
  14. Was hoping for this ever since he made his senior debut for CCM - played with flair, confidence and seemed to have decent skills. It's on his wikipedia page already.
  15. I hope we are after this Wales kid as well.
  16. It wasn’t a bad descision, just a malfunction a non decision at the most important game of the year -there is a reason the flag didn’t go up, linesman are told to let the VAR deal with close calls and play on so that upstairs can make the call, to keep the flow going you see.
  17. Wasn’t the Arzani incident actually reviewed, a penalty was called for but the on field ref overruled the VAR? There’s lip reading imagining of him saying to the VAR upstairs “no penalty, Arzani is a diver”. During the grand final VAR wasn’t available during the first parts of the game, which is almost like continue playing when the Ref has a broken whistle = against the rules.
  18. Jets might be thinking about a rematch claim. Obvious error topped up with VAR not available - whilst it should be available according to the rules. VAR calls in other leagues are still being called at half time. If a football team makes errors in let’s say playing wrong players, replays are granted - can’t see why not in this instance.
  19. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/football/bruce-kamau-capable-of-playing-football-in-england-says-city-coach-warren-joyce/news-story/c51f32b9ec3f9e7252f83e2134789c9b Championship!
  20. I equally disappointed with Joyce, and are still on the fence about him - Haven't been impressed so far. All this talk aside, I think we got some good signings coming are way - this season was recovery mode. The Tim Cunthill debacle has just cost us money and we needed to recover.
  21. I don't mind him - does he know how to use subs and can he work with passionate adult individuals? But only in combination with an investor who doesn't mind spending a coin of course.
  22. Bulshit no luck at all, their Chinese owner has put more in the Jets than CFG did this season. Combine a good coach with 5 or 6 decent players and you do well in this league. In the recent articles it is once again written that CFG only spends once it sees a return. The is league is a mess, Cahill was a flop - hence we end up with lower quality marquees.
  23. Maybe they think they are voting for spud of the match? If not, some really don’t get a MOTM in football. We obviously have Jets supporters voting here. Malik had some nice intercepts but as always he has those critical mistakes in poor passing, bad controls, red card tackles etc - all which costs us dearly over the last seasons. I’ve been holding my breath the last few games when he played. Earlier in the season and the last couple of games people seemed to be ecstatic about Malik whilst really he is just doing his job. I don’t understand why people rave about him after 10 good passes and 8 intercepts?? Maybe because deep inside they know he’s a nice guy but average player. In my opinion him and Kamau have been our weakest starting eleven players. Not using them as whipping boys just my honest opinion over the last seasons. Get those 2, Muscat plus La Rocca out of the door and rebuild.
  24. Pass if you look at improvements over the years in the regards to ranking. Every season one spot higher higher up the ladder is acceptable. Big fail on player movement and management. From Ross to Cahill there’s just to many too list here. Big fail on boring game tactics and substitutions, even in the final games of the season we still don’t get. Joyce is confused with the term consistency and applies that game tactics and substitutions.
  25. We play exactly the same game as against Wellington, which people called a dead rubber game.
