  4. Maclaren’s record is 56 from 98. I think some of you are too hard to please. That record hasn’t been beaten by too many players. As with most things in football, it’s the way you play. We’ve got a gun striker...let’s use him properly.

  5. Warren, what is your response to fan feedback?...

  6. I just knew this would happen. We dominate the second half but can’t convert any chances. Then we cop a scrappy goal and lose.

  7. JMac and Harrison had more than enough quality balls given to them to score. No excuses, they were both crap. Florin, RoboCop, Mcgree and Brattan gave more than enough service after either beating opposition players, drawing players to create space or both. We lost because our scorers didn't score and not because of Joyce Ball.

  8. 100% said it many times but people keep crapping on about his goal ratio (in Australia), decent player but not marquee type who can bring your team forward. Saying that, is this really confirmed he marquee? Here we go his goal ratio, he failed to score in the lower leagues of Europe hence why he is back. Maybe watch the game again, plenty of opportunities for him good changes and poacher changes. He turned to his wrong leg multiple times too.

  9. A well-deserved result. Positives: We scored Good game from McGee played in his best position Surely Joyce is gone now Negatives: The result Dominate possession, but with no creativity, a predictable and ponderous attack that commits too few players forward and a high defensive line, we looked like we could concede with every single Nix attack MacLaren wasted in a game plan where he's marginalised de Laet wasted at CB

  10. I'm not going to call Maclaren shit, but I've said from the start that he's not of marquee standard. He doesn't have the height to be a real threat in the air, and he doesn't have the lower body strength (as Bruno had) to hold the ball up and feed it to a teammate. We now have him for the next three seasons occupying a marquee space that he doesn't deserve. Unfortunately, I think we have ended up on the ladder in just the position that we deserve. We are simply not good enough when the pressure is on. We have had that problem right from the start, and Joyce has not managed to change that. I can only hope that tonight's result will be the final nail in his coffin. He's had every chance, and has not delivered.

  11. To be fair to him, any striker is going to look bad under Joyce's system. Maclaren is a striker that does well with space and speed. He has no space as we almost never create an overload and our ball speed is so slow that his pace is not exploited. We have no creativity in attack whatsoever. We'd be much better with another MacCormack type player that can score from set pieces

  12. The only time we get an offensive overload, we score. You won't see another offensive overload under Joyce, he doesn't believe in them

  13. McGree giving the ball away cheaply again... The moment we go 1-0 down I always think “ah game over”, which is shocking considering Warren was brought in to make our team have more backbone, character and discipline.

  14. Just to elaborate on this, the problem is that it's not just the income tax rate, it's that there are so many things targeting people on middle class incomes. Firstly you have tax offsets for low income, so their tax rate isn't as high as the tax brackets suggest, where as middle and high income earners don't get this. Then you have the MLS, where someone earning just 90k+ a year has to either pay an extra 2% tax or buy health insurance they don't need. Speaking of health insurance, the subsidies fall off pretty quickly as well around that mark. Then you have all the benefits that get cut as well, eg things like childcare subsidy etc. The net effect is that middle income earners face marginal tax rates of 100%+ in some cases. All taxes and/or lack of subsidy based on income should be bundled into the income tax rates, for transparency reasons, and to ensure there aren't cases where ludicrous marginal tax rates are in effect, causing massive economic inefficiency.

  15. Good to see Bacchus on the bench with a more attacking player in the middle. Big game for Mcgree as he needs to show that he can change our lackluster attack though the middle. We really need to open up the middle to give Jmac some space..

  16. Once again De Laet, our most lethal attacker, is tucked away in the centre of defence. At least McGree is in the centre of midfield, where he is most comfortable. It’s one step forward, one step back with Joyce. And the lack of excitement is hardly surprising. We’re facing off in what is effectively a dead rubber match, wallowing away at the bottom of the top six, in a stale 10-team league, all the while being coached by a fraud of a manager. I can hardly contain my excitement.

  17. My cat has better man management skills than Warren Joyce! Commence Rant: Honestly what really pisses me off is that with 30 years managing people from a vast array of cultures and walks of life I’ve got a pretty good handle on it and to see this cunt take what should be a minor issue and turn it into “oh you’re out the fucking door” does my head in. yet somehow his incompetence seems to be regarded by some as a strength! For fucks sake. Good man management is about getting the best out of your people, any cunt can tell people to fuck off. Rant Over.
