Cooney to Essendon almost done. Don't know how I feel about it tbh.

He's OK but we desperately need tall forwards. Hoping we can try and draft 1 or 2

Yep - The Draft will solve your immediate Tall option problems...

we don't have a choice cause no one wants to trade with us. Was hoping we couldve gotten Waite but it looks like we'll be doing nothing again this trade period.

Fucking Dustin Fletcher signs another one year contract. This selfish cunt needs to realise his past and realise the best thing for essendon is to blood younger players. Hope asada suspends this prick and his only able to play 6 games and his stick on 399.

Don't even know where to start man. Forget it, you're from Tasmania.

Good comeback. Not a go at you so it's not personal. Seriously though the last 2-3 year Fletcher has contributed no more than a developIng player. His reasons for playing on are clearly selfish as an attempt to get to 400 games.

Sorry bloke just played the man not the ball cause ceebs with a long post on why I don't agree. We just signed Gwilt so there's surely a role for Fletch to put it simply.

Players should have no say in where they are traded.

Yeah - These players should have a look at Baseball...

I assume that was sarcastic. But for me, you can't have the option of becoming a free agent, only to also have the power to nominate a preferred club for trade, and in turn refuse a trade to another side if a better option comes up elsewhere for the team you're contracted to.

Once a contracted player announces that they want to be traded, the player should not have the ability to stop a trade from happening because it is not where they want to go.

Tough shit, they're attempting to escape a contract THEY signed.

I wasn't being sarcastic... I agree with all of the above.

Don't see what the big fuss is about tbh. Free agency has actually made the off-season interesting for once.

All these players can jump up and down about wanting to be traded here or there but at the end of the day the club has the signed contract by the player and the final say

The integrity, loyalty and stability of clubs and the AFL doesn't matter because now Kingofhearts is entertained during the off-season. :droy:

Heaven forbid players actually have a say where they want to work! James Frawley should've just stayed at Melbourne and played in a shit team for the rest of his career, be loyal to a club which has always done right by him right? You get to choose where you work, why can't they?

In the first two years of free agency, less than 20 percent eligible free agents have actually moved clubs. Talk about a massive number! Its almost like if you run your club correctly, players will be happy to stay :hmm: What about the positives of free agency? For instance Jeremy laider was a de-listed free agent from Carlton who had played 5 games in his past two season, yet last season he played what, 16 games for Sydney? If it wasn't for free agency, where would've he been now?

What i've highlighted in bold is just a completely over the top statement that people who do not understand how free agency make all the time. Can't wait to come back in a couple of years and check up on all those clubs who would've folded due to free agency!

WTF how is the example of someone being delisted and then picked up by another club a reason why Free Agency is great?

This could have happened under any system in the past twenty years.

You don't really need stats to back it up. Just look at the NBA, bottom teams will never find a way up.Players just ditch their clubs for someone who has a shot of winning or is in a desirable location. The AFL has to decide what's more important, the players or the clubs.

The NBA's trading system is smarter though: players can't pick and choose whether to accept a trade or not unless specifically written into their contract. A similar system should be introduced into the AFL

This...

Plus Free Agency is pretty young so "THE STATZ" at the moment would not tell the full story anyway.

Knocked up a random bird and his girlfriend found out.

Leg it son.

Hearing he was sleeping T. Lonergans Mrs.

Dogs came in to try and get Lonergan knowing he was unsettled at the Cattery,

Geelong facilitating Bundys departure to keep Tom.

So much juice in this rumour. What an ambassador Bundy is!!!
