Placeholder kit before their actual number is selected, I guess. They gave Franjic a choice post announcement. Most clubs in the same position would just not print a number on the kit, though. I mean, the only number visible was on the shorts anyway. It's not like we ever saw the back of his shirt and someone went "no, it just doesn't look right without a number on". No, but this better be right. I haven't heard anything about Koren leaving either, but I do find it interesting that Koren has stopped using Twitter. Melbourne City FC is pretty obsessed with Twitter, and have seemingly already dragged Kuzmanovsi onto Twitter with him creating this account today https://twitter.com/KuziOfficial/with_replies , just like how Koren started using Twitter shortly after he joined us last season. To be fair I thought Koren would be a good solid signing for the club. I just think the player has been disappointing, and I am sure it will have made the club sit up and take notice when they consider future marquee players. True. How they handle the Koren situation for next season will speak volumes.

Yeah, pretty much, rass. Some of the clubs in the league would be royally screwed if other clubs were able to sign more marquees outside of the cap, which at this stage, cannot happen for obvious reasons. Heart would have been worse off since we had owners that were so reluctant to spend. But yeah, all this doesn't detract from the fact that CFG have made a crucial error in their usage of the International Marquee spot thus far.

If NYCFC have Villa, Lampard and Pirlo on their books, whilst we're stuck with Koren next season, then, well, fuck that.

Anyone else see in today's HS about how Peter Sidwell apparently was very close to getting Mick Malthouse over to Heart as an assistant coach under Aloisi, before he decided to take up the Carlton offer? Sounds kind of nice in theory, but adding non-football people to an already very inexperienced coaching staff? Wow, no wonder we never had a foothold in the city.
