  1. Devil's advocate here, why is everyone with a different view to you a cfg troll? I've not heard great things about Paddy Kisnorbo as a human either tbh

  2. I think the message is that quality on the field and winning is not the fundamental indicator of support for a team. People invest in things they feel they belong to and are valued in. Feeling a part of a bigger community is a biological drive made enticing when clubs value their members and everyone has a shared vision. Instead at CFG we have a top down approach where the suckers at the bottom are given very little in return for their investment as a pawn in a greater game and there is an overt lack of substantial identity, culture and vision.

  4. I agree. Whilst some comparisons with NYCFC are valid, many, perhaps most, aren't imo. What gets me is when some of their fans complain about being a mini Man City; i mean its basically what they signed up to isn't it? We're different, because we had semblance of an identity beforehand, ie it wasnt what we signed up for for many of us.

  5. Remember that NYCFC didn't exist until CFG (80%) came along and founded the club with the New York Yankees (20%). We're the only club in the CFG stable that existed prior to being bought by CFG and then re-branded to look like a clone of Manchester City. The only one. And that, IMHO, remains the single biggest obstacle in the way of support and growth of Melbourne City.

  6. Surely Carlton will have even more fans if they actually starting winning and play good football. Winning and success is definitely related to the amount of support teams get. We are just talking about the 40k rusted Carlton supporters here, who didn’t even turn up to all games.

  7. This is because they have a relationship with their supporters. The opposite is true with CFG. Simple.

  8. Not really out of respect for the source, other than the source was from inside one of the clubs and very high up on that chain. Stajic got what he deserved, but the FFA werent able to out him without a hell of a lot of collateral damage to the team hence the silence.

  9. FMD. No dark blue. I'll have to give it serious thought now... $200 for members, $250 for non-members.

  10. You know what, in almost every aspect this has been a pretty forgettable and disappointing season - but god damn, this past weekend just wasn't quite as good without the City Boys playing. Bring on Sunday. COCYB.

  11. Hi Mr MO, I’m not about grabbing anyone’s attention, even though it may seem that way. Put it this way, as a coach I would have PK lead the line as Captain, as he was, he wasn’t the best player but he was the best fit as Captain at the time, he would do the work on the field, granted. That doesn’t mean that his ability to Captain a side automatically means he can coach it. The man is a buffoon on the sidelines. I wonder how many “experts” have actually seen the bloke coach, instead of stargazing. Funnily enough I watched a W-League match on the TV and the commentators were both perplexed by the absolute hogwash he was yelling at the girls, and here I thought I was the only one, that team almost crashed and burned if not for the quality on the pitch, not for the genius on the sideline, there’s a difference. As for my opinions on him as a person, I know what I know. I’m happy to concede if I’m wrong, but he would be kept well away from any senior group if I had a say.

  12. Haha, obviously a personal opinion doesn’t sit well with some. I could easily ask if you two are one but I won’t bother. Joyce is not a coach’s asshole with his mind game shite, but Kisnorbo is no better, and him at the helm would make a toxic environment at the Club a nuclear waste facility.

  13. Kisnorbo is just as much a cancer as Joyce. Thinks of no-one but himself and you can take that to the bank.

  14. You wouldn't believe how hard its been to drag myself to some recordings this year, glad we can make it worth it for some people! We cop it a bit for being too negative but when the going is good we can be positive, right now the going is far from good.

  15. The big difference to the heart days.( And in that referring to the Aloisi period were after a dozen games it was clear he had to go ), the difference being, I felt an obligation to the club in general to remain loyal and still rock up, now sadly I don't feel the same. Now this is just my own personal feeling and it's probably based on knowing the club won't suffer if I attend or not.
