  1. Was at training briefly earlier, spoke with Malik he says 1-2 games and he’ll be back. Was training with balls away from group. O’halloran training away from group, no balls or boots was running at good pace with on trainer. Rest of group looked sharp playing a game, with Wazza in the middle barking orders.

  2. This is how I’d line up LaRocca out IMO cost us the first goal. Wales to come on as a Sub as Dario has more of a chance of scoring than Wales! Jamo to bomb forward from the left which will help Berenguer!! 3-1 Win Bruno to score

  3. High intensity cup final so far. Sydney will need to load up on the peptides this early in the season to not be buggered for our game.

  4. It’s just a nicer way of saying and staying loyal to the ones who are at the club every training day.... You train and perform on match days, you keep your spot in the team, It’s that simple. It sets a fair standard to every player and takes away any politics. Age and experience is out the window, that’s why all the young guns choose City over Victory. (And why Cahil sooked off to Milwal) You look at Victory for example, it doesn’t matter if there starting 11 is out of form, missed 2 days to go visit family interstate for a wedding or flown in the night before from international duty, if they are available they are in the starting 11. No young kid with potential wants to be waiting for that, because he’ll never get his chance.... Nabout, Pain ect... Thats why each week you can pick 10 out of the 11 players of there squad and we have know idea who is playing in our midfield three. Wazza is here to change our culture and his doing a great job of it. In the Heart, JVS, Aloisi days we couldn’t score a goal or get out of our own halves on AWAY games let alone win one, now we travel away and 7/10 times we look like the home team. And i think the new A-League record we set last week with 17 consecutive games scoring away from home proves that. Pretty good for a team who stared five years after most.

  7. Delbridge into CB, Jamieson to LB, Vidosic for Wales, and La Rocca dropped. Delbridge has been a gun at CB so far this season. He's just not an attacking LB. 100% agree with this. Griffiths to come on at 75' for Brattan if we are winning. Wales to come on between 60'-80' to run at tired defenders. Caceras as backup incase Mcgree or Florian run out of puff. If we win this game, good chance we will be outright 1st.

  9. I think he will give Wales 1 more opportunity to prove himself. He played him in the first 2 rounds even though Vidosic is our main goal scorer at the moment

  10. yep, jamo has to be in! Wondering when good is going to get given a shot. Not likely with the form of delbo and bort. Going to be a huge game from the midfield and centerbacks. Le Fondre is looking the goods and sydneys midfield with ninko is probably the best in the league, at least the most consistent.

  11. Out of interest, I've constructed a couple of graphs around membership and attendances for the last 5 seasons from available data. Membership numbers are end-of-season. Our membership trend has been saw-tooth but upwards, as with most other clubs. Newy and CCM are flat-ish and AU bit of slump from 16/17 to 17/18. The following graph is the ratio of average season home ground attendance to season membership. A ratio of less than 1 means lower average attendance than membership. We have generally struggled to rise consistently above 1. Victory and WSW in the same boat. Other clubs are able to drag non-members to games. Most clubs struggled last season to drag punters to games compared to the previous season. In Melbourne, for both us and Victory, membership is a reasonably good indicator of season average attendance.

  12. I'd have said that McGree and Vidosic are our secondary strikers. That's what it looks like so far. I'd also make the point that if a player - any player - is being double- or even triple-teamed by defenders, as Bruno often is, that must mean that we have player(s) free somewhere on the park. We've got to learn how to use those free players. This is the job of the coaching team. I may be misreading Joyce completely, but I do wonder whether he is so pre-occupied with super-fitness that we're not spending enough time on other aspects of coaching. Bruno has always polarised opinions, as did Fernando Brandan, and latterly Daniel Arzani. I'm pleased to see Joyce defending his player in today's Age. Challenges/tackles etc. have to be judged on their merits, not on pre-conceived ideas on divers, South Americans, or any other criterion. That tackle by Cisse on Bruno was a penalty every day of the week in every league around the world. As City supporters we need to stand with Bruno, not against him. I, as did many others, disliked Berisha intensely, but his club always backed him all the way, as did Victory fans.
