inshallah Melbourne Victory falls in the great jihad on saturday I am fucking pumped. Cannot wait to look very intimidating and making as much noise in one corner of a 200k stadium than the rest of the occupants. Can't wait to bully some Back Row Melbourne pussy.3 points

Yeah the thing thats annoying with the app is you can only stream it on your phone or tablet, but they have a $79.99 introductory offer so i reckon ill take it. At the very least i wont have to spend 10-30 minutes hunting for a stream on virus/pop up riddled web sites.2 points

For me it was his goal in the FFA Cup semi. The way he took his shirt off and ran around swinging it was the "we're in an FFA Cup final. Party time" moment2 points

Agree wholeheartedly with this as one aspect. The thing is to make the whole atmosphere around the club exciting. Winning is obviously number one, but the match day experience and buzz during the week is needed. At the moment we feel very flat.2 points

Honestly don't know where the best place is to post this but Bulut is set for a 4 year ban. Coke use. https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/turkish-football-reportedly-hand-ex-wanderers-striker-bulut-four-year-ban1 point

(Scroll to the bottom of link) Seems that FFA have stepped up their game with international broadcasting. The Official YouTube channel looks good. If you have a VPN, youll be fine https://www.a-league.com.au/news/fans-more-corners-globe-set-watch-australian-football-season1 point

IMO it's a lazy excuse to "blame" the League/FFA as a whole. I agree that that's a factor, but it's also a golden opportunity for the individual clubs to go out and show that they can be a lot better than just "another run-of-the-mill A-League club." In every respect.1 point

News at the moment is that Ola Toivonen has been ruled out for the Derby1 point

I disagree with this in principle. Do you deny a player with obvious talent and who can play as he does for 65-70 minutes just because he can't go the full 90? IMO that's madness and a perfect example of "cutting off your nose to spite your face." You have substitutes to cover that sort of situation. If Celtic persist with that attitude it will add fuel to the fire of those who think that he's at the wrong club. It's time FIFA jumped on clubs such as Manchester City and Chelsea and limited the number of players they can loan out. They are simply manipulating the transfer market.1 point

Not just our club but the A-league as a whole. Don't think it's really related to individual clubs. The FFA is doing a great job running the code into the ground. And not sure why the club would release that mini membership before the season starts! I thought they started off with 8-membership pack, then 6, 5, 4.......To me a true membership is one that you have purchased for all home games.1 point

I've signed up for Foxtel go and will watch games that way, but then again I've got other shows I'll be watching. I did think about the app but not sure what platforms (ie on PS4) it is available on (plus lack of access to other Fox content) Think that's a really good way of seeing it. Given how Optus went during the WC you do also have to factor in the app running shit too1 point

Absolutely right. What can anyone point to that the club has done in this off-season and pre-season that excites the fans to the point that they will sign up as members? We seem to have done our best to keep the club distant from its core fan area - Melbourne. On the matter of the metrics, it is IMO very difficult to compare season on season. No two seasons are the same. It is IMO the number of full-season season-ticket holders on the day of the first home match that is the definitive measure of interest in the club. This season the club released a limited season-ticket ("3 out of 4" - the "Kick-Off Membership) on 9th October - way before our first home match of the season. I don't think we've done that before. It's therefore not really meaningful to compare this season with previous seasons. However, the bald figure of 8,229, compared with 9,838 last season and 10,769 in season 2016/17 is a crude measure of a serious decline in interest in the club.1 point

It is just only one aspect but imo a very important one. We once had Archie Thomson and Danny Allsopp come to our local club and we got 200 kids and parents come to meet them. You should have seen the kids faces. I also know that more then a few family's became members soon after. In order to engage the public on the pitch you first need to engage them off the pitch.1 point

My fondest memory of Brandan was the post on this forum about how he was the type of dude who’d stealsome batteries from the supermarket, then exchange them back for a pack of ciggies . Whoever did post that, it still makes me chuckle1 point

God i miss that cunt. He was the cunt we needed, but the cunt we didn't deserve.1 point

Problem is that its round 1 and topics to talk about are extremely thin. Especially since we've gone over the new players in pre season pods. Thats why Rd1 Derbies suck the big one mate.1 point

This might put a few noses out of joint and i appreciate the fact that its a volunteer type thing but for a derby week the podcast was somewhat underwhelming. I would never have the kahunas to jump on myself but love listening to City people talk City, and have heard some great podcasts before.1 point

Im not saying theyre doing a good job or anything in respect to getting these out, but provided they come a week before the first game i really get my head around people actually getting annoyed about it. Lifes too short to worry about something that irrelevant.1 point
