Are people betting on the Manikato Stakes tonight?

I suppose it's hard to look past Chautauqua but not much value.

I guess with the crownbet offer of bonus bet for finishing 2nd or 3rd gives extra incentive to bet on Chautauqua as if it doesn't win it's hard to see it outside of the places, so it's not too risky to load up a big bet. It's been a long time since it finished outside of the places, and only a 10 horse race, and probably only 3 other horses with any serious chances. Wish it was cash back though and not bonus bet, but better than nothing.

EDIT: Actually Luxbet is better, bonus bet if you finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, so if you win you get a bonus bet as well

I actually thinks its odds are too short, as its lost more times at 1200 metres than it has won (Albeit it has come second five of those times) plus she could get fucked around from the jump and the Valley could turn inside out.

Buffering would be thereabouts at the Valley and Terravista is best suited to the Trip and good second up.

FFS can't resist putting $100 on Victory tonight, but can just feel the upset coming. Memories of getting rolled on this fixture last season when Newcastle were in far worse form. Also crownbet doing a boost on victory ($2) and they have a good record with those.

TBH I was thinking Buffering for a bit more value but these promos really add incentive to bet on the favourite. I am a greedy cunt though, and $50 on Buffering would be a nice start to the weekend if it got up.

Only thing is he is much better first up than second up...

I think Chat will win if he starts well and is the first four/five as he will have room to loom on the outside without wasting any energy.

The thing is I just think he there is 1/3 chance this won't happen which means he has to deal with either threading a way through MV congestion (A rarity) or having to spend a lot energy going wide around the bend from a lot further out and 1200m is already where his absolute best ends so I would like to see better odds.

Yeah I understand what you're saying, at only $2ish I'm not overly keen either, but I'll see closer to the race because he is drifting a bit as I suspect a lot of punters are looking for more value.

Just seen ubet have cash back for 2nd and 3rd tonight, that would be the best promo on the race.

surely these french ligue prices are too good considering the league positions http://www.livescore.com/soccer/france/ligue-1/

angers 2.60 draw 3.10 guingamp 2.75
ajaccio 3.80 draw 3.10 nice 2.10

multi with angers, nice, bayern, leverkusen and wolfsburg is at 17.27

Nice looks a good bet at that price, not so sure about angers.

Had singles on phoenix and sydney, and both in a multi with seville and bayeyn, hopefully seville dont fuck it up (cause bayern surely wont).

Also had Sydney 1-0, big win on that.

You can imagine I loved that late winner.

Taking those early losses on the A-League paying off now that I have an idea where the teams are at. Sydney 2.10 and Phoenix 2.40, that's why the A-League is great, so much value if you can get it right.

amazing leverkusen were 3-1 down at home 60 in, scored a winnner in 89' to get up 4-3
leverkusen, wolfsburg bayern all got up, real madrid up 2-0, $10@5.69 and another $5 on the same multi + nice @11.95
ended up hardly making anything thanks to nice and brighton

Some of you have probably already seen this but

ROFL

Nah, never... LOL

I did not back Winx but was happening just to see her do that in such a strong Cox Plate... I was questionable about her Sydney Form due to how it seems like there are only four stables up there at City meets these days but the win was the best since Sunline's second Cox Plate. (And all Sunline had to do that day was find the lead).

I have to agree with Tomby that I dont think Chat is as good a Sprinter as you say Hobart, the reality is that he has only a 50% strike rate over six furlongs and he is not coming up against really crack fields like others in past did.

Each to their own opinion. I'm not saying right now he is but I'm very confident he will be by the time he retires. The day Brazen Beau beat him it was run at a farcically slow speed and Chat was held up at a vital stage. Personally, I don't think Brazen Beau is though. Retires only winning 2 group 1s (I realise chat has aswell at this stage) and both at Flemington. Also, couldn't win in the UK.

Sorry but I think your memory is a bit rusty... Brazen Beau was a year younger than Chat? (That's what I thought anyway).

Brazen Beau won the Coolmore showing he was the best 3YO Sprinter in Australia, he then still as a 3YO finished second to the world's highest ranked Sprinter at the time in Lankee Rupee in the Lightning and then won Australia's most prestigious Sprint in that of Newmarket beating Chat in process of doing so.

A lot of PPL would have retired him then as he had just won Australia's most important Sprinting Stud Race as a 3YO, however they took him to the UK where he just got beat after having to chug the last 200m down the straight of Royal Ascot by himself.

Only a idiot would keep running a Horse after that kind of resume has been established as a 3YO but if by chance he had been owned by complete idiots (Of Brad Bootsma levels) I think the fact that Chat has lost 5/10 times over 1200 means a maturing Brazen Beau would have had his measure.

I did not know you actually knew who I was mate...

TBH I just went from eating anything (A lot of Junk Food) to a shake diet and just watching the other stuff I ate and only eating Healthy Food most of the time and Planning my meals and it all dropped off real fast.

I now just continue to watch what I eat and maintain the practice of doing a hundred sit ups roughly every second night and go on a couple of walks in the park as well.

I'm not sure why my memory is a bit rusty? I never said they were the same age.

As I said initially these things are very subjective and we could argue it for days.

You are simply basing Brazen Beau on 4 runs of which he was beaten in two of them. I personally think you can't put a horse as the second best of this era simply on 4 runs.

Team Hawkes had a lot of problems early on with Chautauqua and that has all been fixed since being gelded which thereafter he has won 5 out 7 at 1200m all at group level. Even with his early problems Chat still has a better winning strike rate than Beau.

Personally, as I said perhaps Chautauqua isn't the one behind Black Caviar right at the moment but I think he will be by the time his career is over. I don't see how anyone could rate Brazen Beau ahead of either Hay List or Takeover Target.

Of course I dont rate Brazen Beau ahead of Hay List or Takeover Target, but importantly those names had other good Mares and Geldings running around at their time with Hay List's main opponent being obvious and Takeover Target came up against some very horses in Miss Andretti (Def better that Chautauqua FWIW), Apache Cat and even Glamourpuss.

Basically to assess these WFA horses careers you are more less assessing them against how good the Geldings/Mares they are coming up against because all the good Sprinter Horses get sent to stud as soon as they win a G1 as late 3YO's or early 4YO's so PPL can try breed Slipper Winners.

And IMO ATM these sprinting ranks of Geldings and Mares are nowhere as good as they were in Takeover Target's day or Black Caviar's (Despite owners avoiding her) which is the main reason why I dont rate Chautauqua that highly and if Brazen Beau had been a Gelding then I am sure he would being winning his own share of these races.

I think we'll certainly get an indication of just where Chautaqua is at in The Darley Classic when his forced to give exosphere 5 kgs.

If he collects both the Manikato and the Darley then yes obviously he will stamp himself as a Champion of sorts, but I dont think you can really put to much focus on weight carried in a WFA race. (The weight difference is only because Exosphere is a colt).

WFA races basically only exist so PPL can cheer horses like Chautauqua home as they offer little value to the Punter.

No handicap, no gambling.

That's why Australia is a country full of gambling addicts, lots of big handicap races

It's interesting you say that because Gambling Addiction in Australia when you could only bet on Racing until say 40 years ago actually miniscule as a social problem compared to what it is today.

This is because even the average deadbeat usually ended up doing some sort of reading into the form of a race prior to betting rather than betting indiscriminately unlike they do with obviously the Pokies, on the more basic Casino Games or on Sport ( Usually on Multi's) via Mobile Phone.

So if anything the Government only allowing legal betting on Racing kind of kept the Addiction rate under controlled as opposed to these days where IMO a lot of these new forms are basically the gambling version of what Tinder is to the dating world... too easy and simplistic to use.

It was pretty piss poor TBH as you expect from someone who had been in relationships since before PPL had Facebook.

I only ever had it for like three months (One of which I was in Europe for so I didn't use it over there) and then I got together with my current Girlfriend.

FWIW: TTIM Tinder... the stupid thing works against PPL like myself whose main way of attracting girls has always been through conversation/bantz.

Ladbrokes matching your up to $200 deposit in bonus bets...

FWIW I like Kia Ora Koutou in the Derby, unbeaten in Perth and clearly a Stayer.

I would probably look to see if their are any horses with some Value as a Place Bet in Coolmore because I can't see Exosphere not winning.

I dont know why but I have a feeling maybe at Flemington that Contributer could finally find some form again as apparently his training alright and his run was not all that bad at MV which is really not suited too... so I might have a tiny bit on him.

You would think that in the Mares race if she gets the right run that Royal Descent deserves to win the race, IMO anyway.

That deposit match would be  targeted, I haven't gotten any email or anything at least. You probably haven't bet much with them recently or lost recently?

Need (and by need I mean I really don't need but it would be nice) me a new 600$ monitor, hopefully a good weekend, should be doable with all the cashback offers and some luck.

Haven't checked the odds for tonight but Newcastle could definitely steal a result and will be worth a bet as I imagine we will be like 1.70$ so draw or Newcastle will be paying a decent amount.

I think it is because they may have noticed that I am not betting the 160 I allocate most weekends when I was going to the races every weekend which I have not been doing as much as late as I have had other stuff on...

Because  I have had a  much better Late Winter/Spring than I did Autumn/Early Winter in terms of winning.

They probably think my business has gone elsewhere.
