Wow. For those of us who've seen the sport spend decades in the media wilderness, only getting negative press especially during NSL days, this article and others like it recently vindicate the A-league model. More work required but shit it's really encouraging :D

Kennedy was in town just weeks ago. He and Alisoi had a chance meeting in a coffee shop just before the victory game. I was there and saw it. It was a surprise chance meet! Perhaps they linked up afterwards.

Kids got some awesome pics of Alisoi, Hayden and Kennedy

Results get fans to the stadium. We have to perform to see fan and member growth.

Very important part of the equation but certainly not the only factor.

Agree. Results are important but so is how a club engages with its members. When you send an email asking for information or offering some thoughts do you get a reply saying "Yeah thanks for your contribution, etc etc" ??? And match day experiences are really important to help people feel part of the club (not a franchise). We're not going to win every match and some years are going to be awful but fans needs to feel part of the club to keep coming back through thick and thin. Edited by HEARTinator

Haha. Well, babalj has already been spoke of. And Josh Kennedy had been linked to one (or both) Melbourne clubs.

Can see it now:

heart; home of the socceroos.

There is another nugget but I have been sworn to secrecy.

Looks like that 'nugget' has eventuated, but landed at Wellington Phoenix.

Carlos Hernandez will be back in the aleague.
