  1. It does create a 'chasing our tail' like scenario as you point out mate. The balls really in his court the way I see it, should he want out, we take the money. If not, he must get an extension and hopefully continues to improve and looks abroad later.
  2. I'm not going thru 80 pages for the quote but can recall reading something along the lines of...... 'how the Olympiacos tour sells, will play a part in signing the forum love child Charisteas' Ridiculous to factor that in the decision imo but just got off the blower to a mate who went and apparently around 15k in attendance. Not sure what the board wanted to see at the game but to me, 15k is about what could be expected. So having not exceeded expectations do they put a line thru him now? Kidding themselves if they expected a huge crowd and in turn signing AC will suddenly bring in the masses.
  3. Goes without saying really but a new marketing firm if we outsource or a staff turnover if we do it in-house is the first port of call. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a marquee that will be the face of the club promotion wise.
  4. Cadet's grammar probably cost us a home final last season
  5. Problem is that his contract is up at the end of the coming season, potential case of 500k vs zero...zilch....not a thing. I'd like him to stay on this year and renew his contract out of goodwill for the club. Come out firing after a full preseason, bang in 15+ , value increases which we accept and everyone's a winner. Depends how badly he want's to play in Serbia I guess as to what will happen.
  6. If you can do better than the two blokes and a dog at Morwell, all yours imo.
  7. Back on topic, does this mob have a name, ceo, home ground or colors yet? Voted a few weeks back from memory, personally voted black, white and red along with Wolves. Rangers, Wanderers (both terrible imo) and Wolves(not much better but the least 'try hard' of the three imo) are what I can remember to pick from.
  8. Where's he said that his 'bitter'? I've heard him say his 'disappointed ' which is entirely expected and understandable. I do understand what you mean though mate, but we can't automatically assume his bitter with Aloisi as such, especially when reports say they are quite good mates.. I would suggest his beef would be more with the board. Time will tell us a lot about his character if he does stay on. Hopefully his the consummate professional and dust's himself off and works even harder!
  9. The signing of the above on contract extensions is of paramount importance imo. With Fred and Simon being gone that will cover the inevitable, though warranted pay raise they will all demand. Be sickening to lose possibly 3 blue chips and a couple of speccys for nothing, could really make or break the joint.
  10. Couldn't afford Cook for starters but it would be a mouth watering proposition. Daylight between the two business acumen wise. Might just be me but he comes across as a dickhead with his twitter shenanigans.
  11. Hopefully not much comes of this. I personally want to see him actually dominate week in week out before moving abroad.
  12. Pavement are far more lo-fi indie rock scene than 90's west coast punk sounding imo. More Sebadoh/Pixies sounding than what followed the black flag, circle Jerks etc era. Pennywise, Guttermouth, Epitaph/fatwreck type bands. Lame shit genre argument aside, Pavement fit right in under the 'good music' genre no doubt. Was lucky enough to catch them in 96 or 97 at The Forum, fantastic gig.
  13. Fellow forumite mario's reaction on news of golgol. He mad!
  14. With Bolton seemingly a cripple between matches, his umming and ahing about continuing on and his apparent unsuccessful push for a significant media role on fox sports, it all seemed a forgone conclusion it was his swansong, thus when Redmayne was signed you sorta put two and two together. Now that it's apparent his staying his obviously still #1. Barring a terrible pre season I dare say we will see Redmayne line up after a poor performance or at Perth, N.Z or perhaps Brisbane, whatever comes first.
  15. Buy a tonne of material and employ a suburban sweatshop for the day. But seriously, out of curiosity, excluding the hours taken on the sowing machine, whats a flag cost to knock up?
  16. Huge difference between 'comfortable' and 'untried' though, as was in Thompson's case. Either way the club needs to just sign someone for the forums sake, even a water boy ffs. Could debate his beep test at the least, atm we're repeating ourselves ad nauseam
  17. I'm in the minority and would pass on a CB. Happy with Good and Hamil. If Simon stays, I'd be far more inclined to spend on the midfield in an attempt to keep the ball locked in. The two kids had far too much work and pressure on them last season. With Shroj gone ideally we find a gun DM that is comfortable at CB if for god forbid two of the CB are injured concurrently.
  18. Tom will become Laura Jane Grace. Song makes complete sense now, and after all these years of thinking it was about a gay couple Good on her I guess ya say. 'Reinventing Axl Rose' and 'Eternal Cowboy', both classic albums.
  19. Makes sense compared to Morwell. Can't think of anywhere other than Kardinia Park though....? What the council would want is anyone's guess but wouldn't they play Cricket in summer, I'm not sure how the pitches work, drop in etc. If it's feasible then have a decent dig at promotion. Players into the schools and shopping centers the week or two leading up to the game and some local radio breakfast interviews etc.
  20. ABC 1,2 or 3 perhaps? Gotta knock a bird up soon, where's the single dude enjoying life tax break ffs.
  21. The most refreshing words I've heard from anyone at the club since forever, I'm liking this guy all ready. Within his right to spew forth the 'young club and building foundations' crap to lower expectations but this bloke want's to win, so giddy the fck up! Can he really do worse than what we produced since January? We never looked like winning and were as boring as bat shit to watch. Odds of this coming off are well in John's favor.
  22. Wouldn't have pictured myself buying anything Kappa in this lifetime...... Will of course be buying the new strip but it better come with a concealed flick knife pocket for authenticity.
  23. No offence mate but contradiction much? Anyone that's previously voiced a different opinion than the brainwashed get's your knickers in a knot.
