  1. Unfortunately we will be away on a cruise for the last game at AAMI which is a pity as we both wanted to give Harry a good send of but as i said we won't be there. As for the name /colour change we are both of the view that a name change is inevitable but we do NOT want the colours to change except maybe for a blue away strip. Thats our two-pennuth for what it is worth, See you all next season.
  2. Name change -----IN. Colour change ---NO.
  3. Totally agree, it has been a bone of contention every week as to which Williams will turn up. If he can become MORE concistent we may have a very good striker, yes that small word with a big meaning "IF"
  4. and what did we do, we refused to win, come on, pheonix were not that tough to beat. Our players should be ashamed of themselves.
  5. As i said in another thread, the case of a young player selected for NSW rep side had to drop out as his single parent mother could not keep affording the travel and accomodation costs along with the ridiculous administration costs, registration etc so that young fellow who i knew was a very good prospect for the future is now a very good prospect for the AFL and it costs the parent NOTHING !!! So if one code can do it why oh why cannot the FFA. As JW139 has said like him i learned to play in the school playground (tarmac) with a tennis ball and twenty a side bruises grazes and i loved every minute.
  6. I happen to know of a case in NSW where a very talented young boy, whose mum is a single parent, was forced to quit football as they could not afford to pay the exorbitant fees required for him to continue to play this wonderful game. He is now playing AFL at a level which will get him drafted next year to go to a top afl team, so we have lost a talented player because the fees which were being demanded were out of the parents budget. I might add that the fees were not to an academy they were fees to register him and mostly for travel to tournaments etc as he was selected for state rep games.
  7. A very good read keep it coming, a real fanzine.
  8. There is far too much blue, and what is wrong with our current logo at least it tells everyone this is Melbourne Heart. I am not against a change in the name but i draw a line at a change in colours, alright put some sky blue in but keep it predominately RED&WHITE.
  9. To many he is past it but to me he has still got a lot to offer the younger players and i personaly hope he stays on next season even as an impact player of the bench. That goal was just Class which Harry has bags of.
  10. As most of the posters on here will Know, i have a country membership and as such i can only attend Five Home matches on that Membership ticket. Fair enough you say, and i would agree as it is quite costly to attend matches from as far as Albury (3 hours drive) so this season i have attended 3 home games up until the Derby last night. I am aware that country members must inform the club if they are going to attend the Derby, this i did some four weeks prior to the match last night only to be refused addmission on scanning my ticket and was told to go to the members tent to sort it out even though i have reserved seats (2 years). So of to the members tent to sort out this situation, where i was given two tickets to a completely different location from where i have seats reserved. On telling the persons there that i have these seats as my wife has problems with balance and cannot handle stairs without hand rails i was told that these are the only ones that are available, by now i was getting quite irate and told them that this situation is not on. The third person to speak with me said that i can use the tickets they gave me to enter the ground but i can go to our usual seats, what a complete mess why could not the club have told me when i rang to inform them about attending the game that i would need tickets as i already had reserved seats. I just hope that the New Administration sorts themselves out when the new group takes over or maybe some heads will roll. Oh and by the way well done the boys in red for a really great win last night COYBIR>
  11. i was watching Troisi when he came of, Not a happy bunny by any stretch of the imagination. think he will be gone at end of year and Thompson was unseen for most of the time he was on.
  12. May i ask what you suggest is HIGHER that will come to Australia to play for us?
  13. A really great honest player who gives it his all every game i certainly would like him to be re-signed for next season.
  14. I really don't mind what the name is but please please leave the colours alone.
  15. True, but the oval in Albury may not have been available then Your probably right Bella as the AFL starts in March here in Albury.
  16. You must be a dreamer mate we don't get cool changes up here it stays hot for weeks on end.
  17. Well i did warn you people that it gets very hot here in Albury, and even later at 5pm it will still be very hot as it will be for the rest of the week. Yes we don't get the cool change like Melbourne so suck it up guys i think the game will be postponed till a later date, by then i will be a resident of Melbourne as we move down on Tuesday the 11th it is a pity the FFA did not take summer weather in the country into account, typical city centric headquarters. To all those who have pulled out of the trip, i think you have made a sensible call, up until last night i was going to the match but it being so hot i had decided to watch the game on Foxtel and i live about ten minutes walk from the Lavington ground do's that give you some idea how hot it is here.
  18. The floodlights are supposed to be television compatible but don't hold me to that as when we had Rugby league they brought in portable light towers but they may have been updated since then.
  19. I am almost salivating at the thought of him playing for Heart, now that would really be the signing of the season......If only...
  20. Well i do, i travel down five times a season at considerable cost over and above my season ticket price so i can't see why you could not travel to Albury ONCE in this season. Thats the trouble with people who have not been outside of Melbourne to see a football match you are spoilt for choice, whereas in the country we have to make the decision to travel and suck up the cost which i think makes me a better supporter than some of the city people i love this game. It seems to me that you want your cake as well as eating it, come on get behind the team don't be fairweather supporters, i might just add that i am a age pensioner and cannot really afford too much travel unlike some of you younger supporters, but i make every effort to be at AAMI park as much as possible.
  21. Yes and you also note that the "injured player" immediately got up and walked to the sideline and then continued playing, yes in was worth a yellow but definitely NOT a red card .
  22. Just a word of caution to all who venture up here( i am on the spot) you should definitely remember to Slip Slop Slap because the sunshine here is much more severe and 37c is like 40c and there is NO cool change as in Melbourne. lots of luck with the train guys. As of Tuesday the 11th i will be a Melbourne resident so hope to go to all home games in the future.
