  1. Just to throw a spanner in the works i hear that Edgar Davids is now available ! I don't know much about his coaching ability but he was a very good DUTCH player.
  2. And i can assure you that it would have been a nightmare to cut. This was taking the aesthetic effect a bit far as when you are at ground level you would not be able to see it or not much of it anyway. Groundspersons /Grenkeepers change the direction of cut on a regular basis so as not to make either bounce or roll favour either side playing on it. It also helps with the correct growth and health of the grass and to overcome difficult areas of growth as these occur on most closely maintained arena's.
  3. I don't believe that a five year ban is enough for what happened both in the city and at the ground and when is this going to take place, we have heard nothing from VicPol or AGC since the match?
  4. This sort of incident is why i have stayed away from football in this country for 35 years, i was born in the U.K. and can honestly say that there was never any football hooliganism at my home club before i came to Australia in 1964. It was only the forming of the A-league which reawakened my enthusiasm for football, those so called fans should be ashamed of their behaviour and their respective clubs Must take appropriate action to ban anyone causing riotous behavior and i include our own club in this regard, so far we have had fairly well behaved fans both at home and away games. I hope and pray that this kind of thing is not contagious as that would really put an end to the rise of this great game in this country as i said i am thoroughly disgusted by what has happened regardless of whether you like or dislike Flares at the football THEY ARE ILLEGAL end of. Where were the so called security persons to allow these nutjobs to let them enter the ground with flares in the first place, whenever my wife and i enter the ground we have to offer any bags etc for inspection surely the security people are obviously NOT doing their jobs effectively!
  5. What an absolutely great read, if that actually happened i would definitely sign up for next year in " A premium " and would attend every game regardless of where it is played even to the point of going bankrupt. God help us all. i might point out that i am a founder member and i rely on age pension .
  6. Oh My God we have got very negative have'nt we, which is to be expected and i for one want this season to end SOON. What petty excuse came out of Aloisis mouth last Night???
  7. I know it's only a rumour but if it happens he would fit in quite well for us in the future but we need something this season because we have become a laughing stock in the A- League.
  8. I like your post BUT, i think you are dreaming the guy wants to manage at the highest level not some obscure league in Australia and i am not denegrating the a- league but the higher levels of English football think that the world ends at the English Channel.
  9. And then we did the honourable thing and let him go duh!
  10. Further to what has already been said on here, if things remain the same after we lose again this week i for one will cancel any further trips down to Melbourne to watch absolute rubbish football . If the situation remains the same till the end of the season i will NOT be renewing my membership, Founder member, i will be content to watch A league football via Foxtel and FTA from 300kms away. Whilst this seems to be preaching to the converted i am absolutely sick of watching Melbourne Heart Getting beaten every week along with the cost saving for two people to travel down and accommodation. As i stated to the guy sitting next to us at the last home game, we will be lucky to have 2000 here for the next home game and the way things are going we will be lucky to survive to next season. I realy love football it was what i grew up with in the U.K. but it is heart breaking to watch the drivel that is on the field at Melbourne Heart at the moment something MUST change and real SOON .
  11. Just to throw my two cents worth into the argument, i just noticed that Bob Bradley has been booted by Egypt. Do's anyone think he would be interested in the Job.
  12. Bela whilst it may be construed to be the boards money it also means that they are wasting our membership money that some of us have contributed to the club coffers. I not only had to find my membership fees but also a fairly costly sum each and every time i want to attend a game as i have to travel 300kms to home games and arrange accommodation for two people. If this weeks Lack of effort is to continue i will definitely be cutting back my attendance not only this season but next season as well. It is all very well covering for the management of this club but some consideration should be given to us loyal Fans.
  13. I Side with the Rutherglen Rambler, I am a FOUNDER member and i just love football but last nights debacle was disgusting. It was like watching a( and i use the word team very loosely, )of school boys playing a team of real footballers. It was pathetic to see players continually Ball watching waiting for passes instead of moving their sorry arses to get the ball, it was pathetic in the extreme. Oh and by the way i am 74 years of age so not a child or even a teenager and i fully support the feelings against JA he has failed to impress both the players and the fans both last year and this year, Something needs changing and bloody quickly or i for one will not be renewing my membership next season. Next home crowd will DEFINITELY be down and if the current trend continues we will be lucky to have 2000 at that game and attendances will quickly downward spiral. Idid something i have never done before Last night i walked out 10 mins before the end i was so disgusted by a complete LACK of HEART.
  14. Not forgetting whtsisname Meeuuiss or something like that was absolutely useless!!
  15. There was mention of a good coach in this forum subject, if Ja slips up this time he would definitely have to go and i would certainly love to welcome Gus Poyet to the position any day. But maybe i am dreaming a bit.
  16. Certainly not the complete capitulation we saw last season towards the end.
  17. I think it's more like Jason Hoffman Talking up Jason Hoffman, that's the way i read it anyway.
  18. Even if you wanted to walk from Dean St this map do's not show the big hill that this road go's over i estimate the walk would take you at least 1.5 hours and you would be knackered after it
  19. Personally i think a coach is most neccesary as there is no public transport from the station to the ground, plus if you came by coach you would go straight to the ground. Opposite the ground is the Lavington panthers sports Club which is fully licensed and has a restaraunt with very affordable meals etc. Another advantage of coming by coach is that you would probably be back ib Melbourne by 10.30pm if the coach left the ground an hour after the game. I might point out that the full return fare from Melbourne to Albury is about $66 so you should be able to fill a coach with fares approx $50 which is very competetive with the train fare and is direct to the ground. I have just been looking at the countrylink site and it states there are no Trains on sundays( track maintanence )the service is by coach, but this may change. Is there no organising group or committee among the active groups ? Taxi fares from the station to the Lavington sports ground would be in the region of $25.
  20. How about a goal scored song "Glad all Over" has been used to great effect in th U.K for years by Crystal Palace.
  21. Would not waste time waiting for something to happen !
  22. FWIW, I'm pretty sure the club organised buses from the train station to the ground when we played in Morwell. I also think there were additional trains that day. That would be great but we are talking about a line that has been having maintenance problems for over 10 years and i can recall that there have been weekends where there have been NO TRAINS at all it has been coaches all the way to and from Albury. So whoever will be organising the trip should definitely check with countrylink Vic about this. Nate, that is why i think someone should organise coaches from Melbourne to the ground and return, the travelling time would be about the same as train time but it would be direct to the ground thereby cancelling the trip from the Albury station to the ground.
  23. With regards to the fixture to be played in Albury Sunday 9th Feb 2014, there may be a problem for those travelling to the match by public transport. Ay the moment according to the Countrylink timetable there are only 2 (two) trains from Albury in the afternoon on Sundays being 12.45pm and 5.20pm of course this could change in the new year but i would'nt hold my breath waiting to see if things change, therefore i might suggest that someone organise a coach to come up to the game which will bring you direct to the ground and also next door is the Lavington Panthers club where meals are available and bar facilities this would relieve the worries of traveling to the ground from Albury station by taxi as there is NO public transport available to Lavington sports ground as far as i know and i have lived here for 35 years. Taxi fares from Albury to Lavington sports ground are approximately $20 to $25.Sorry if this sounds like doom and gloom but it may help get some of you to the game without a lot of hassle, I will be going as i live 10mins walk from the ground.
  24. Come on everyone we have'nt even started the season and your nay saying already lets give them a chance ,wait a few weeks and if they don't perform ,then is the time to gripe. Lets get right behind the team and THE COACH when the season starts Come on the HEART lets tear the league up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
