  1. That's exactly what has been missing, another fucking hashtag. #believe
  2. I get great enjoyment out of seeing Indian fans put back in their place. Suck my nards.
  3. Reinventing the Bazaar by John McMillan. Also a few other similar books like Undercover economist, Freakonomics, etc. Good light reading. Have Freakonomics on the way already, but I'll definitely grab the other two. Cheers. Thanks mate.
  4. Bump. I know it's a broad question, but can any of you intelligent people on here recommend any economics based books for me? Please keep in mind that my current level of knowledge is very basic. Thanks in advance.
  5. I'd honestly swap Hoffman for Retre - I thought he was really ordinary with his positioning when defending as well as caught up the park too may times last week. And start Marino. The forwards have had 21 rounds to get goals and have given us sweet FA. Let's see what the kid can do (if he's fit enough to start). Its good to see the Walkerist Movement lives on... Watched Marino in the NPL two weeks ago. Not even close to ready.
  6. Adding Statham to the cast can only make it even better.
  7. We are already committed to Koren for next season. Leaving four visa places. Of the other foreign players: IMO we can assume Duff is going (he's off-contract and has repeatedly said he is going back to Ireland). Germano and Wielaert are off-contract and IMO we can assume that they will be released. Safuwan is here on a three-month loan deal. Novillo is here as an injury replacemen (Duff). Jaliens is here as an injury replacement (Wielaert). James Horsfield (ManC EDS) is apparently here with us (or was here with us if not now) on a training stint. Opinion on here seems to favour signing Safuwan and Novillo for next season, taking the visa complement to three. Presumably Horsfield is here with at least some consideration of him being here next year, which if it happens would take the visa number to four. The question then is what to do with the remaining place. Personally I like Jaliens. What he possibly lacks in athleticism he reads the game beautifully and I would not be averse to him staying on for a year (no more). Others will probably differ. Against Jaliens is his age and that IMO we definitely need a proper striker (or two) because I can't see Kennedy appearing too often. Wright-Phillips might be OK but based on our history I'd rather find someone younger. I like Jaliens too. I think he has been very good since joining and has provided experience and stability to our defence. However if we had one remaining spot we needed to fill, I wouldn't keep him. I would go all out to find a left footed, youngish, skillful and attacking player from o/s to complement Novillo, Kennedy and Koren (who I honestly believe will rediscover his mojo once JvS has pissed off). I'd also get rid of this 4-3-3 inverted winger bs and go with a formation that suits these guys better.... and a coach who can implement it. I quite liked the article i saw the other day on Balkan coaches and think someone with nous and flair like a Stojkovic could do well with us. As much as he wouldn't like it, I saw enough of Mooy on Saturday to suggest he would be a much better DM than Paartalu. He has the tank and the pace to go box-to-box all day, starting in defence to cover opposing attackers coming forward, pick up the ball from the back when in possession and then get forward enough to create a real nuisance. Apart from the odd header or two, I struggle to see what we are getting from big Erik. His fitness to me is a real issue and hence so is his mobility. I quite like the idea made a little while back of trying him as a CB. A starting formation perhaps like this to start the season: Don't think we are that far away to be honest. The remaining players we have can stay on the bench or flogged off for more developing local talent. Velaphi Safuwan Chapman Kisnorbo/Paartalu Clisby Mooy Melling Koren Novillo New gun Visa Kennedy I like it, but here's what I'd hope for: Kennedy off the bench with a new visa striker to replace him. Franjic at RB, Safuwan on the left A player (maybe from the NPL) as defensive cover I want Koren out, but may be easier said than done. His release would free up that marquee spot for another number 10 If Koren must stay, I'd be giving the forgotten man Stef Mauk a go. He'll be 20 by this stage, with a season of football at NPL Level under his belt. Get a good manager in and there's your title.
  8. I'm not as confident as you. Those two should be extended. I have my doubts whilst the threesome of doom are in responsible positions at this club. I have very little faith, but I'd be dumbfounded if Harry and Safuwan weren't kept on.
  9. JD is fairly incompetent, but I can't see him letting Safuwan and Novillo walk. They both have a great combination of age, talent, potential and hunger to be important players for us for seasons to come.
  10. was useless at cardiff, much rather gus poyet than him Poyet worth a look for sure.
  11. The best way forward for youth development tbh. As Cadete alluded to, the best way for kids to progress is to play senior football, the NYL was a pretty ordinary standard.
  12. I've heard a Championship side has been watching. Great news for him if true. His game would definitely suit the Championship.
  13. Our PR has been horribly bland for months now - and this explains it and also why Munn and Didulica have been muzzled. Improvement is need quickly IMO to try and revive the faltering public interest in Melbourne City. Thank fuck they've been muzzled.
  14. http://www.cornerflag.com.au/curious-case-andy-kecojevic/ I've watched him play once, and he clearly has some talent. Hopefully we can get him back.
  15. Ian Holloway, purely for entertainment value.
  16. I've been a long time admirer of your work, but this is your all time best post.
  17. Were you there yesterday too mate? Didn't see you. He looked really good, will be keeping an eye out for him Yeah mate, had a bit of time on my hands so went for a look. Next time! I couldn't get his name or age unfortunately, but he couldn't have been older than 16?
  18. Koren, Murdocca and Hoffman. You're all shit cunts, remove yourselves from professional football ASAP. Cheers
  19. Reckon we've found one in number 15 for the "reserves" today. Impressive!
