  1. Agreed. Almost posted five minutes into the second half to say they looked like they'd had the hair-dryer at half time, such was the change in approach.
  2. Easiest votes for MOTM and Spud I've had all season.
  3. You're not a proper football fan until you've laughed at your own side when they've just scored....
  4. Manny Muscat screamer. Not very often you'd see those words together...
  5. Bizarrely we'll probably end up having got a draw away at Newcastle. Which many of us would have settled for...
  6. I genuinely feel sorry for him. He's walked into an imploding club on the other side of the world.
  7. If we could get our shape right and sort out the internal dissent we could be a reasonable team...
  8. Bouzanis playing to keep the shirt, but several others playing to lose theirs...
  9. Joyce did pick him for the pre season match in Shepparton and to my eyes he played well. But not featured since...
  10. I'm not sure it's Wazza. What's going on behind the scenes could be coming from a number of sources - other people in the management or coaching staff (already one departure there this week), Timmy stirring the pot, players unhappy that they aren't in the team, general concern over poor results... Could be lots of stuff. And yes, Wazza might have kicked a few arses or put noses out of joint because he wants to do things a different way. But isn't that what was needed, given the sense of complacency we felt had grown during the previous regime? I suspect were going to have quite a bit more turmoil yet before it all settles down.
  11. Sure as eggs is eggs there are going to be departures. I guess time will tell who. Certainly not the end of the changes, that's for sure.
  12. I suspect it depends on how far we've got with draining the swamp...
  13. Agree with your impeccable logic MB but it seems that some of the persistent rumours have some legs, and strange things may yet happen. Perhaps the logic is to be able to move a fit Brandan onto another club, fee payable and contract rescinded. Hence keeping him long enough to get him strong and fit and saleable?? And if he's fit he can be sold or moved on without having to pay out his contract, thus freeing up cap space??
  14. And if that's the case we've got to keep our heads through the blood-letting that probably still has to happen, and hope that those now in charge know where the problems are, and what to do about them. Having said that we will miss Brandan if these rumours are true. Worth consoling ourselves that we have the likes of Arzani and Najjarine coming through. And Kisnorbo is highly regarded by club and fans alike.
  15. Honestly would prefer right now to see some of the younger players. We need energy, pace and enthusiasm. We can't do any worse right now.
  16. Indeed, difficult to separate the bullshit from the truth at the moment. I do sense a concerted desire from somewhere to destabilise the club. But that could be anything from someone inside the club to a salty oppo fan with crafty social media skills. So the who and why is difficult to work out.
  17. And regardless of what you think of Malik he won't be playing next week, so someone else, probably Kilkenny, will be taking that role.
  18. When you've not only laughed when your team has conceded but also when they've scored. When the best chant of the night has been 'We're shit, and we know we are' and everybody joined in. Even the players. When your best football story, which actually got you published, is about barking at police dogs. When you've been away to York in sub zero temperatures and watched your team lose 3-0. When you've lost to Accrington, away, in the pissing rain. Then and only then, have you truly become a football supporter.
  19. Bort. Sheer unrelenting, die in ditch effort. Futile, but somehow noble.
