  1. Haha i dont know if its sad or not that im entertaining the idea of joining them..
  2. Not as underwhelmed as i have been by Caceres and I've seen a much better sample size of him than our delicious Irish beverage friend. As phantomfortress explained re fitting into the team and as for Caceres being our most consistent in pre-season, well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it but i dont agree. Again sample size is probably two ordinary FFA Cup games against noone opposition and a friendly in Ballarat when noone else played so meh.
  3. You said there was no doubt that Caceres was a better player than Kilkenny. Im simply saying thats not true. Ive admittedly been underwhelmed with Kilkenny so far, although he was solid enough on Wednesday night, but i think he provides a better fit to our team at this point in time than Caceres does. I certainly didnt say that industrious is better than creative or vice versa, more just pointing out that they are very different players.
  4. Well that's not true. There's at least some doubt and conjecture. I at least think Kilkenny is a better player, albeit very different. Kilkenny is much more industrious, Caceres more creative. I struggle to see Caceres in our side unless we play 4-3-3, in which case Cahill probably doesnt play.
  5. Have a look at Cahill directly after we scored the second and third goal on Wednesday; barking orders and ensuring that everyone is switched on. Leadership i havent seen at our club before.
  6. A wise man once said "Your wins are only half as good as you think they are, and your losses only half as bad"
  7. I love that these two are such different players too. Kamau is speed but more of a taking players on/mazy type whereas Fitzy is a bit more of a straight lines player. Will be a massive asset to be able to switch them up when we are struggling to break through in some games.

It's all Gallop and the FFA's fault over there for 'leaking' it to the media. So much lels.
  9. Haha I was at that game and the guy was an expat Melburnian. Don't think he even really like Heart, he was just clinging onto something from home. Barely got boo out of him all game until Wielaart scored to make it 4-0 and he stood up with a polite golf clap.
  10. Japan game is on the Tuesday following so definitely wont be playing. I doubt he even starts in the derby tbh.
  11. That disallowed Bruno goal tho.... Nah agree by and large, I'd much rather a ref that lets it go than is whistle happy. It's a bloody tough gig.
  12. You'd be still paying for your Gold License if it wasnt for Ballarat, commoner.
  13. Just an assumption given a lot of North Africa is Islamist
  14. Aren't a lot of the Sudanese muslims? Blanket bans and all the other shit they propose re muslims is only going to make things worse, and is completely unfair imo. Needs to be handled much more delicately than that. In saying that, the head in the sand morons that declare anything to do with dealing with the issue racist arent helping anyone either.
  15. Tbf, whilst Wilkinson was a great player and we were better for having him in our side, i don't think he 'transformed' the defence per se. He was an upgrade in cattle, but in reality we still shipped a heap of goals in the second half of the year. I'm hoping that Jakobsen is more of a DelPierre style defender, where he makes the other defenders better around him due to his presence/marshalling. Either way, looked the goods last night.
  16. You honestly could have given MOM to any of Kamau, Brandan, Jakobsen, Cahill, Brattan or Fornaroli without any argument whatsoever. Though Malik looked way better next to Jakobsen than he did next to Chapman in the previous games, whilst Chapman, Sorensen and Kilkenny were all solid. Rose was solid defensively, did turn the ball over quite a bit tho, particularly in the first 20 minutes or so. The understanding between Cahill and Bruno seemed top notch and hopefully will replace the onfield bromance that he had with Novillo. Colazo was quieter than id hoped but still showed some flashes of quality and tbh very excusable given he's just got here.
  17. Hes the A League's answer to Stephen Milne. All hail the Tiprat!
  18. Thought it was a tough call between him and Jakobsen for MOM. Impressive.
  19. I've always liked 'we dont let this slip'
  20. IMO north of 5-6k is a good result tonight. We got 4,027 to the game against the Nix last year fwiw
  21. As per last year I think our minimum expectation has to be ACL qualification and at least making one final (be that FFA Cup or Toilet seat). At least one trophy is an expectation, although not necessarily a 'minimum'. With a best XI of Sorensen Chapman Jakobsen Rose Franjic Brattan Malik Colazo Kilkenny Cahill Fornaroli or something similar, as well as super depth across the squad in Fitzy, Kamau, Brandan, Caceres, Muscat etc we should well and truly be challenging, despite the goose we have coaching.
  22. Im 100% certain the latter will occur and pretty positive about the first one
