  3. Started off with Chelsea as my uncle is a Chelsea member living in the UK so when I was around 10 and over there he took me to a couple games at Stamford Bridge. Loved watching players like Zola, Hasselbaink, Melchiot, Petit and Gudjohnsen get around the park. As soon as the money started spilling in Shevchenko/ Crespo I started to lose a bit of interest. More recently I lived near Birmingham for 12 months in 2010. Decided to support Birmingham City purely cos they were in the EPL and tickets were cheap. What a year it was to get on board, wins agian Chelsea, draws against City and Liverpool , and the Carling Cup semi final win against The Villa (complete with pitch invasion, riot police and police helicopters). Oh and the Carling CUp!!! Times at the moment for the blues are hard with our ex (or current, i'm unsure) president/ CEO Carsen Young in jail and the cash has well and truely dried up for the club. Yet somehow the lads managed to stay up in the Champioship despite relying on month long loan players on the books.

  4. Even though I wouldn't be thrilled with this reported signing (largely because he hasn't done much to impress over the past 2 seasons), I can understand why the club might sign him. 3 reasons: 1) There aren't that many better players coming out of contract in the A-League. Apart from Spiranovic (who would stay at WSW anyway), honestly who else is there coming out of contract? I can only think of Shane Smeltz, Marcos Flores and Carlos Hernandez, and those 3 have real issues with age, fitness and possibly attitude. So in terms of players that have actually demonstrated some quality in the A-League (as Brown did over 2 seasons at Gold Coast), Brown is an understandable A-League signing. 2) Brown can play in the no 10 position, or out wide (where Dugandzic and Ramsay play). Whilst we have a few options for the no 10 role, we don't have many options for the wide positions, especially on the right (there is pretty much only Dugandzic. All the other wide players strongly prefer playing on the left). 3) Brown can provide goals from midfield, and Heart don't have that many goal scoring midfielders. Even Mooy's ability to score goals from midfield has been questioned, so I can understand the signing of a midfield goal threat. If Brown replicates his GCU form, he could end up being a very good signing. And he's a good age at 24 (it should be noted that nearly all Heart players are mid-20s or younger. This team is being built to last). Whilst I don't think ATM he's a very good signing, because he hasn't shown much form over the past 2 seasons (and it should be noted that he had an injury or two that disrupted those seasons, and there's some suggestion he didn't quite fit in at the Jets, so perhaps the past 2 seasons aren't that important), Brown would be a fairly decent and understandable signing, and he could turn into a very good signing.

  5. I agree. Which is why JVS should not have been appointed.

  6. The only signings from the vpl in the past couple years have been the trifiro brothers IIRC and they are both shit. I just wouldn't expect a 5/6 nil annihilation

  7. Top State league teams would give many a league teams a hard time when in good form, I'm very aware of it However I was hoping for a reaction from more then 1 Hellas supported...Looks like I've failed Still it was funny being compared to a mong Cheers!

  10. Easily the best defender to have ever pulled on a Melbourne Heart shirt. Kisnorbo & Madaschi in the heart of the defence needs to happen.

  13. Didn't want to buy 'some stuff to squirt them with from Home Depot that should kill them', instead they waste rope, paint thinner, petrol, and fuck their swing up. I'm not saying it wasn't worth it, but still some shit logic.

  14. taking us from last to um.... last? This comment just has so much face palm. Take into consideration the time spent playing etc and how much he showed in that small amount of time. We're last but engelaar is the very last reason why we are there and remained there. People are blinded by his flashy moments.... I dont want the flashy players I want players who work for the club and win us games and finals..... not players who have no work rate and just are good when we have the ball, that doesnt win you games consistently, just look at WSW overseas players He broke his leg, came back before anyone expected, with no pre-season and still did what he did...

  18. Manchester United. Why? Even though I loved aussie rules when I was young, I'd watch SBS and Sports tonight for some sport highlights and seeing the FA Prem league two players caught my eye, Beckham and Rooney. Along with this my interest sparked when playing soccer for Interschool sports at my primary school and watching my cousins play for their local side. I still have my small Man Uniteds fan tshirt which had navy on it .

  19. Swansea. I didn't really start following football until a few years ago, I actually started supporting Heart before Swansea. Anyway when I was looking for a team to follow in England I watched Swansea beat Man City 1-0 (This was in the 2011/2012 season) and I was mesmerised by the way Swansea played, been supporting them ever since, even though they have kind of strayed from the way they played under Rogers.
