  1. Great career. He's a bit of a tool but he's been our best ever player IMO and his contributions to City winning their first piece of silverware are well appreciated too. On ya Tim.

  2. Yea but people might not want to play for peanuts in Australia. Some Victoria's Secret Models are single, but doesnt mean they'll date me

  3. If they sign Bolt win should sign Serena Williams. She'd be a beast paired with Bort down back.

  4. NO WE DO NOT!!! Everyone stop being a sook and next season all you gotta do for active to be successful is to stand and chant, if consequences for flare last season are not having things I listed in the title of this topic than that does not mean terrace will not exist as we are ones who make the terrace, the terrace will die the day its empty and thats the only way to kill it as not any amount of flares or club restrictions can do so. If you are not capable to stand for 90 min, chant and occasionally clap your hands than you in the wrong place. For the sake of the terrace stop having beef with those at front of terrace as they won't be leaving any time soon and they contribute to the terrace...

  5. Agreed 100% man, there is legitimately no point in standing in active if you chant 1/3 or less of the time, active is for getting fired up and getting the boys over the line, not standing there and booing whenever someone tries to create atmosphere

  8. It certainly is. What I've read so far is that the deal depends on FFA stumping up marquee funds to pay part of what Bolt is demanding. He has had trials elsewhere (e.g. Borussia Dortmund) and played in a few exhibition matches etc., but in reality this is an untried player wanting marquee money. As FFA increases the costs of registration for players and ticket prices for fans perhaps it needs to start really thinking about the long-term growth of football in this country rather than gimmicks.

  9. Trials don't necessitate a player being formally registered in any league from my understanding, there might be insurance processes etc to follow as you've suggested but they don't need to be added to any official player list for that to take place.

  10. Confirmed trial by CCM https://www.ccmariners.com.au/news/mariners-address-usain-bolt-media-speculation If the FFA spend some of their marquee fund on him im boycotting the league. (I'll actually be prepared to only keep up with games via text feed updates, this way FFA and Fox would lose $ and viewing/attendance figures)

  11. Great socceroo, tarnished himself towards the end but thanks for the FFA Cup timmy! (At least he didnt call a rescuer a 'pedo')

  12. His second trial was with Stromsgodet in the Norwegian Premier. That's hardly the big time, and they didn't keep him. I suspect this is largely about creating a buzz to sell memberships, rather than in any expectation that he will be a gun soccer player.

  13. That's because the rumoured deal for him is an initial 6 week trial. He won't be good enough to earn a contract IMO

  14. No way should the FFA tip any of its marquee money into this. If they want to use some of their advertising $$$ then its perhaps justifiable, but god knows they spend sweet FA on that anyway...

  15. I suspect that for us it all now depends on Arzani. Once his future is resolved I suspect we'll quickly see a lot of other pieces drop into place.

  16. In reality he can't be any worse than Maycon and at least he has speed in his favour.

  20. I dont think too many people would have a problem with the FFA being proactive in chasing marquees, however they are making major fuck ups on two fronts; a) stop telling everyone who your targets are, because it looks fucking amateur when the league comes and says we're after you and then you fail. It looks amateur because a league is supposed to be a bigger entity than a single club, and if an entire competition gets outbid by some tin pot club in Japan, you make everyone look pathetic. b ) whilst marquees have some impact around the hype of the league, and attendances and ratings in the short term, the way the FFA carries on about them is like they think its the solution to all their problems. It's not, and give us something a bit more palpable to think that you are actually looking after the long term future of the league and the game here in Aus. As a former (guest) marquee once said, "show me your vision"
