Peter
HOFFSANITY! Hoffman again looms as a key improver for Heart during the upcoming season, demonstrating the promise which has seen him earn national team selection from U/17 to U/23 level. Indeed, the 23-year-old’s pace, movement and acceleration proved troublesome for opponents Team White, indicating the Hyundai A-League Championship winner is ready to take the next step from gifted youngster to first-team regular. Surely he was watching another game? 2012-2013 Player of the year. Jason Hoffman.
Sash
He's the pre-season specialist. Never shown anything in the A League. But honestly, you watch him in practice matches, or rep games against crap opposition, and you can see the potential. This season might be his last chance to show it at a higher level.

Tesla
Its well established at this point that Hoffman delivers in pre season, state league, and training. But not at A-League level, and any expectations that this season will be different will more than likely end in disappointment. Please govern yourself accordingly. jw1739
can't see the pic too well, is it thomas dunn? :/ No, not Tom Dunn at all. I know him fairly well by sight having watched almost all the home NYL games last season.
mus-28
Can't see Hoffman being used too much unless we see an injury to Tadic. He showed last season that he isn't a midfielder, or a conventional target man. He has all the physical aspects of a great footballer, just lacks on the technical and mental side. Herman Cain
This is Hoffman's year. Will start the year as a sub but will be scoring so many late goals that we'll be forced to start him alongside Tadic.

Hendo
First year following the club? Different story this time last year, and the year before that mate. All of you naysayers were once aboard the Hoffbandwagon, I've known him since his teens and he has always been the same old story. Surprisingly took longer than expected for the truth to come out down here. I bemoaned his signing in our first season and I'm still suffering. How he got that fucking contract extension is beyond me. Let him rot in the reserves and it will never, ever be Hoffmans year. Eternal disappointment, from the moment he was born. heart_fan10
don't know how he got that contract extension. Would rather the club have promoted a talented youth team player
markn
He was never going to get a game for Australia. That doesn't mean you turn your back on your country. After everything his junior coaches, including state and national coaches, have done for him - he decides that Croatia is his only option to play national football. Did he pay back every cent invested into him by our great country just for him to stand in goals against us? Diggers didn't die for this country so others can represent another country simply because of their surname.

LR9
Apparently there is a current Socceroo looking to head home to MH or MV (however I think MV have a full squad). Got to be Grella or Bresch Will be reveled in the next few minutes on SEN http://www.sen.com.au/mediaplayer

Tesla
"Melbourne Heart fans get excited because sources close to the club say that Grella is a real target" ^ paraphrasing. Gerhardt will be used as a defender if Grella is signed. Edited July 22, 2012 by Tesla
Jimmy
Grella would be good as he could play DM, moving Gerhardt back to CB. But Bresh would be insane. Imagine a Bresciano, Fred, Thompson/Gerhardt/Germano midfield. It would win the league by itself. Salivating. EDIT: Tesla beat me too Gerhardt as CB Edited July 22, 2012 by Jimmy

Jimmy
Two big problems with our squad: 1. We have no left wing, not a single one. People want to play players like Germano, Williams, Thompson etc. out of position at LW. This is retarded when we've known for so long, and have had so many spots for a Left Wing. We should promote a very promising LW from the Yoof team/AIS/VPL/NSWPL. 2. Last season we just couldn't win a game without Fred. Everyone at the time moaned about how we have no quality CAM to cover him and that signing one should be a priority, it's the very reason we brought in Reid. But nothing has happened for me to be confident that we can win games without Fred. We need to bring in some cover for him that's a little better than Kalmar. I had already made plans to be there for the 2pm kick off so I can now no longer make it. I assume most people who play sport also won't be able to attend now too.
