tomby
Melbourne Heart squad: 1.Clint Bolton (GK), 2.Michael Marrone, 3.Brendan Hamill, 4.Simon Colosimo, 5.Fred ©, 7.Rutger Worm, 8.Kristian Sarkies, 9.Maycon, 10.Wayne Srhoj, 11.Alex Terra, 13.Jonatan Germano, 15.David Williams, 18.Curtis Good, 19.Eli Babalj, 26.Paul Reid, 27.Craig Goodwin, 30.Sebastian Mattei (GK) *two to be omitted* My take: ----------------------------------------------------------------Eli Babalj---------------------------------------------------------------- Alex Terra-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------David Williams ---------------------------------------Fred ©----------------------------------------Jonathan Germano-------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------Wayne Shroj-------------------------------------------------------------- Craig Goodwin--------------------------Curtis Good-------------Simon Colosimo--------------------------Michael Marrone ------------------------------------------------------------Clint Bolton---------------------------------------------------------------- Subs - Sebastian Mattei (GK) Brendan Hamill Rutger Worm Kristian Sarkies Omitted - Maycon & Paul Reid Sounds perfect to me, but would defninantly have Reid over Sarkies. Although I don't mind Sarkies, would go with Reid for this game.
MaliMate
Maybe omit Worm but I doubt it will happen because JVS loves Worm. Have both Reid & Sarkies on the bench? Just doubt that both Fred & Shroj will play the full 90.
tomby
Wouldn't mind Worm being omitted actually, but as you said JVS loves him to much.
heart_fan10
Fred won't start. We've seen with pretty much every player coming back from injury that their first game back JVS has given them a run off the bench
tomby
Yes, but if we are going to win we need to have Fred from the first minute imo.

Yes, but if we are going to go finish off our season well we need to have Fred injury free. Edited February 9, 2012 by Rocco Jones
tomby
Yes, agreed he always seems to be get injured first game back from injury, but as he says he is ready and fit to play, so really don't on whether to start him or not atm, probably just how he is feeling on the day. DutchPride
Bring Fred on after 60, apparently he trained really well first training after the derby on Monday or Tuesday which is a really good sign.

sikre
Omit Babalj? Does anyone remember what happened at the start of the Season when we played Either Terra or Maycon as "Target Man" - no way we can omit babalj- yes he has been out of form recently but hes supply really hasnt been good enough either. He Hasnt scored in over a month but as a team we have only scored like 4 times in the since he last scored anyway .. All strikers go through bad patches and we dont want to shatter his confidence as hes only 19 or something? keep him in and the goals will come imo
ToonHeart
Start Fred, Reid to come on off the bench, omit Maycon.
Footballism
------------------Bolton----------------- Marrone---Good---Colosimo---Goodwin --------------------Shroj---------------------- ------------Fred---------Reid---------- Germano----------Terra---------Worm Bench: Mattei (GK) Hamill Sarkies Babalj Must win game for us if we want any chance of a home final this year. Lose and we could be equal on points with Sydney by the end of the day and a spot in the finals would be looking very shaky. If Fred is fit enough to play well, we will win. Axwell
I'd probably play Maycon to be honest. He isn't that bad..
Huzie
Maycons had his chances, get someone from youth team in next game! Z. Walker to come on in the 70th minute!
Sash
Fred won't play tomorrow. Seems like they're being very cautious, which is understandable. We need to make sure he's out there for the run into finals. Still, it would've been nice to have him on the bench to come on for the last 30 minutes. But we can win without him anyway. jw1739
I cannot believe that Maycon is in the squad. His performance in the NYL last week was absolutely woeful. I'm beginning to question the judgement of our coaching staff.
Sash
I can't comment on the NYL players because I haven't seen enough. But from our senior squad, I do think Maycon is our best cover for Babalj. If he does play, like with Babalj, they need to play it to his feet and not his head. jw1739
After the result tonight, the task ahead of us is pretty clear. The three teams immediately below us are within touching distance. We need results from now on. Funny league this. Doesn't really matter where you are at the half-way point. If you have a good second half of the season, you'll probably make the finals. This is another point to note about strategies and tactics for the future - manage your squad better, especially returns from injury. Don't bring back players too quickly as you're going to need them fit at the business end of the season.
Dynamo_Melb_Warrior
The pack is closing and we need to win. We are falling down the pecking order here. A win is a must.

A lot of people here are talking about saving fred for finals or end of the season ext, What guarentee has this team got that we'll make finals? A loss tommrow against newcastle and they jump above us and than we are truely fucked. This is just another fucking BS excuse from van't schip just so he can play a reid or a sarkies, some HACK who has proved throughout this stretch of inconsistency that he cannot play. And than Van't schip has the nerve the call up MAYCON?! the guy who has had AMPLE opportunity all season to prove himself and keeps proving time and time again he is shit? Eli is still playing well, he just has to stop trying to do too much, he thinks hes messi FFS. We don't win tommorow, kick van't schip out before he can fuck up our final chances anymore. Irrational post. We rushed Fred too early last time and paid for it. If he plays 30 mins in the youth team then starts against GCU, that is great, and he should be fine for the season. Maycon is only back-up if Sarkies doesn't come up. The team played very well last week without scoring a goal. I'm confident and hopeful they can score this time, they know how much rides on getting a result.

Sash
Geez, it's starting to look tough. I was fairly confident 24 hours ago. But now missing three experienced creative midfielders - Fred, Thompson, and Sarkies. Will be a good win if we can do it. Need good performances from players like Germano, Terra, Worm, and Reid. And Babalj needs to finish when he gets the opportunity. Edited February 11, 2012 by Sash

LR9
By my calculations we need 11pts to book finals and 17 to book a home final (2nd or 3rd). Todays line up: Bolton Marrone, Colosimo, Good, Goodwin Srhoj ---------- Reid Germano Terra --------- Babalj------------ Worm Bench: Mattie, Hamill, Williams, Maycon Hopefully the latter is an unused sub. So fucking glad Reid is starting! Edited February 11, 2012 by LR9
