Caddy
So we move on to this game. Commentators were saying that Fred trained all week, and that he was pleading with JVS to play, so maybe he's back? Goodwin a monty to keep his spot. tomby
Goodwin to stay, easily the best tonight imo.
Tranerz21
i was talking to fred after the game tonight, he said he doesnt think the club will let him play against newcastle, they are still cautious about him
Buddy Farah
Same starting 11, but drop Babalj to the Bench shifting Terra to CF, start Reid over Sarkies, Williams at RW, Worm at LW.
Pandev
think a move like that for Babalj might help him mentally actually. not a bad call. he may be a better impact player at the moment, until he finds confidence to deliver the shots. Rocco Jones
Reid came on for only 10 mins. It doesn't seem like he has the fitness to start a game. I would have him coming on as a sub for a couple of games while he gets his fitness up on the training track.

Cammo
I'd start Reid. Desperately need some control in midfield, even if he only lasts 60 minutes.
clay52
I'd start Reid. Desperately need some control in midfield, even if he only lasts 60 minutes. altho he looked good in his cameo it was against 10 men who had no intention of winnin the game
Dynamo_Melb_Warrior
Newcastle looked good today. 5 - 2 hammering of Sydney. Gonna be tough, but need to win to pull away.
heart_fan10
hopefully Fred is back for this. Shroj is out wih a suspension due to his 5 yellow cards iirc, so Reid should start need a win to really cement our position
Che
Same starting 11, but drop Babalj to the Bench shifting Terra to CF, start Reid over Sarkies, Williams at RW, Worm at LW. This except i wouldn't start Reid, i'd take Sarkies off second half for him though.
Footballism
Reid played 45 minutes in the youth today and was best on during that time. He is ready to start imo. Same starting 11, but drop Babalj to the Bench shifting Terra to CF, start Reid over Sarkies, Williams at RW, Worm at LW. definitely this, unless Fred is back. Kiro Kompiro
I hope they don't rush Fred like last time. So with Shroj out we're left with Sarkies Germano and ....Has to be Reid.
Axwell
Same starting 11, but drop Babalj to the Bench shifting Terra to CF, start Reid over Sarkies, Williams at RW, Worm at LW. I'd love to see this, so much pace but this formation would see us raped if we resort to long ball's so it's a risk.
Axwell
Melbourne Heart FC @MelbourneHeart Club Captain @FreddaSilva_5 trained strongly during the team's first day back at training following the #MelbDerby. #aleague

billyheart
Apparently Fred trained well. Start him, Cameo of the bench or give him one more week??? Id go 15 mins off the bench for reid... starting germano & sarkies

LR9
Bolton Marrone, Colosimo, Good, Goodwin Srhoj ---------- Fred* Germano Williams* --------- Terra------------ Worm Bench: Mattie, Hamill, Reid, Babalj Fred plays 60, Reid comes on for 30. Terra plays 70-odd as the false 9, then sub on Babalj for Williams shifting Terra. Hamill cover for whoever. Fred is much more effective as a starter, it will benifit Reid to come on once the game has opened up, same goes for Babalj, whose been horrible of late. Pretty sure Shroj is suspended for this game for collecting his 5th yellow card against victory on the weekend so Reid may have to start, otherwise sarkies will and he will come on as a sub Edited February 7, 2012 by heart_fan10

MaliMate
Do people really think Good is better than Hamill? Yes.
Caganer
Good is seen as the LCB. In the Ajax tradition, this means he would be preferred to Hamill who is seen as a RCB. I think Good is perhaps better defensively but Hamill is better coming forward. One consideration might be Hamill to RB and Marrone to CDM. I thought he played that role well against CCM, marking Amini out of the game - of course that was with a 3-man defence.
DutchPride
I think Marrone at CDM could work too, him & Bojic are very similar players.
MaliMate
What about Hamill as a CDM when Shroj is injured/suspended? Would much rather prefer Marrone running down that wing for me.
Hendo
Novocastria and ourselves are very similiar in the style which we play purist football. Brisbane aside, the two best football teams in terms of style by a long shot. Newcastle are in a period of transition however and even though they have just came off a 5-2 win against the scum, it's a very good time to play them, salivating clash indeed. Melbourne - 5 Novocastria - 0 Toporsaurus with 5 oggies. Edited February 7, 2012 by Micha
clay52
I would definartly give Fred another week.....gotta make sure his 1000%....dont want him to come back and hurt himself again, cause our season would be well and truly fucked if he got hurt again

jenweya
Wouldn't mind seeing the same set up in the game we won 4-0 at Sydney. Playing on the counter. Bolton Hamill - Colosimo - Good Marrone ------------------------------- Goodwin Shroj - Germano Williams - Terra - Worm We're away to a team that has some momentum coming into the game. They would want to start on the front foot and attack. 5 at the back when defending, then they can bomb forward on the counter. Rocco Jones
I think Good is perhaps better defensively but Hamill is better coming forward. I agree with this. I think Good is a 'safer' player and prefer him as a CB over Hamill. Definitely rate Hamill more further up the ground. Nice to have two young CB's with so much potential, just need to make sure they have good leaders playing beside them in either a 4 man defence or flat back 3.
