  4. Not trying to take any credit for the signing but was this post in the "Defender Crisis" thread (by yours truly) some lucky crystal balling or what...
  5. Looks like Hamill passed his medical http://www.esifc.com/news/news_view.php?type=2&b_table=news&idx=273 Love this one - in the Kung Fu pose http://www.esifc.com/news/news_view.php?type=2&b_table=medianews&idx=544 it translates into something like "Photo of Seongnam's 'New Plant', factory fitted with weapons and they shine."
  6. http://thespectatorsview.com/2012/07/01/newcastle-united-on-verge-of-signing-curtis-good/ Here is a slightly older article that details Newcastle's thoughts on Good .... interesting that he was scouted by someone referred to as one of the world's leading scouts ...
  7. interesting as these things dont always work out
  8. .... maybe he is staying after all ..... "...Curtis Good‘s potential switch to Newcastle United looks to have hit a snag, with the youngster still in Melbourne for reasons unknown..." http://mhfcindex.com/transfer-wrap-up-july-19/

  11. Good, Hamill & Babalj all looking good for Russia! Eli and Good maybe even for Brazil if they both start with all guns blazing at their new clubs...
  12. This forum needs a 'Melbourne Heart Transfer Rumours' topic. Please Mr Tesla, make it be and change this topic name...
  13. I would love for us to get Spiranovic and I know from the fan forum that JD was speaking to his agent. He did, as I have posted previously, tell me that Spiranovic was heading back to Europe
  14. Some questions that hopefully can be answered: What times / days are the boys training at the moment - i want to try and get past Latrobe and see how they are going? Does anyone know who is officially on trial with us at moment? Does anyone know how many scouts the club has scouting out and about at the moment? It seems that we are a bit limited in this regard - didn't Skoko recommend Patrick Gerhardt?
  15. Yes, Flores is worth what Victory are going to pay him, but when he was signed by Adelaide what was his salary then and was he any lessor of a player than compared to now? If Flores had not played in the A-league and Victory signed him as their marquee player there would be an uproar and lots of questions asked. People have to remember that Victory will always have the ability to pay the big bucks and sign the more recognised players as they have plenty of cash. There would be a ton of players floating around who would be good enough to play at Flores level who are relatively unkown and could be signed at a reasonable price ... we just need to find one of them (maybe we already have with Gerhardt). Hopefully our scouts are doing their jobs! In my mind, at this stage of the club's existence, it would be so much sweeter as a Heart supporter to uncover a hidden gem of an international player, rather than paying big $$$ and just buying one - this would be another point of difference between us and Victory.

  18. Thanks for the suggestion, however, the conventional way of showing a formation is with the GK at the bottom and the striker at the top. This puts the left sided players on the left of the page, and the right on the right. This is also the way that the majority detail formations (Google Image search soccer formations).... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formation_(association_football) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_football_positions http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/choosing-a-formation-in-soccer.html

  23. This thread is the telling of a story on how the squad (and the best starting 11) evolves over the coming months till season kickoff AND it is based on actual contracted players and official signings. If you think its futile, not sure why you would even bother reading and posting in the thread...
  24. As of 7 June 2012, with the departure of Eli Babalj: Coach - John Aloisi Assistant Coach - ? 25. At the fan forum, JD's presentation highlighted that part of the culture of the club was the respect for the game and what the Heart can do for the good of the game in this country. In achieving this, the process of giving young talented players the oppurtunity to develop alongside a blend of experienced players, was discussed. Are there any other A-league clubs that espouse their ethos this clearly? I dont think so. Any gun young player from Australia will eventually end up oversees. With Eli, this was evident the moment he got on the field this season as he clealry had something that stood him apart from all other players in the league. The only other players in my mind who have impressed me as much, instanlty, were Langerak and Rogic. Eli was always destined to leave. These types of players exist and are coming through, but they need to be found and they need a pathway. I am happy for that pathway to be the Heart. At the world cup in Russia, or maybe even Brazil (if we make it that is), when Eli and Good are running around for the Socceroos, what better feeling to know that they got their true start at the Heart. This will be an awesome way to build the credibility of our club and stand it apart from the rest. And provided the team consists of the right blend of youth and experience, which is what they are after, there will be successes in the A-league and Asia. The 'Young Gun' policy is perfect in this league for the club smart enough to get it right...
