  1. I don't understand anyone wearing black at this time of the year... Or people out "training" or "exercising" at our summer temperatures. They are just damaging their kidneys for later. TTIM...being a Melbourne City supporter, member and fan...it's like a habit that you can't give up.
  2. Can understand Aziz, but only for one year. Young and Souprayen simply getting in the way of younger players. No question in my mind that the present situation is the result of Petrillo's mis-management. We can't keep players, we can't keep coaches, and we're signing players at the end of their careers for too long.
  3. It's the same up front. Only Mazzeo goes beyond this season. Dreadful recruiting/contract management by Petrillo all over the park.
  4. VPL 1 U23s Caroline Springs George Cross 0 Melbourne City 2. VPL 1 Caroline Springs George Cross 3 Melbourne City 2. No idea on our teams or scorers.
  5. What we've been saying ever since the GF defeat last season. On this, what does Caputo have to do to get more than 10 minutes? He'll just leave if he doesn't get match time.
  6. Likewise adults with or without children who ride on the footpath in the suburbs who come up ringing their bells furiously expecting you to step aside for them. Fuck off because I'm an old guy. Unless a designated shareway or cycle path only children <12 are legally allowed to ride on a footpath.
  7. TTIM: All this shit about Taylor Swift. I couldn't care who she is or what she's doing. More important news than her.
  8. We can't keep using that excuse. What does he mean by "training well?" 25 blokes playing mini-games against each other is no use if you can't adapt when you're in a competitive match. We're predictable and as boring as batshit to watch.
  9. I don't think it would make any difference myself, but if anyone, then yes, Jamo. Everyone realises that, but what this season shows is that the replacements, whether from inside or outside, just aren't up to it. And players and coaches are still leaving the club. IMO this indicates a deep-seated problem within the club.
  10. Agree. When he joined he said his first priority was to restore some pride into the squad. It hasn't happened. There have been departures other than just players and the problems are way deeper than Vidmar. Natel, Jeggo, Fernandez - all panic signings IMO. There's a crock of shit in the club somewhere.
  11. Time for a complete rebuild. I don't want to see anyone here next season whose contract expires at the end of this one. It's absurd to be paying some of these players the amounts they are reported to be on. We're a development league - let's see some developing players.
  12. For his own sake I hope he resigns immediately. There is something fundamentally wrong at the club. It's deep-seated and until it's fixed no individual new coach/manager can fix it. Rado knew it and walked. If Vidmar has any sense he will too.
  13. I don't care what anyone says. There is something fundamentally wrong at the club and has been since before the end of last season.
  14. Now the highest - 32 goals. It's a very open competition this season.
  15. Maybe I'm dumb but I just wish it was a bit clearer for the fans. So when is the hearing? If the initial ban is for one match only, then can Arslan play thereafter until the hearing is held? Otherwise it's punishment by delay. Talk about a Mickey Mouse league...
  16. IIRC the original club report said that he would be unavailable for this match against Brisbane. I took this as a club disciplinary decision.
  17. Nah. Naoki Tsubaki. Signed him 4th December 2020. He was 19 at the time.
  18. A little bit about our so-called theme song "Happy Together"... It turns out the song is about unrequited love, which makes it more appropriate as City’s theme song, than any of us realised! THE TURTLES released the single HAPPY TOGETHER in the UK (Feb 6, 1967) Taken from The Turtles' third studio album 'Happy Together' (1967), the title song was written by Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon former members of Boston area group The Magicians, and arranged by Chip Douglas. After many other artists passed on "Happy Together," The Turtles decided to record it in an effort to change their image once more following a series of image changes. Despite what the title implies, this is not a song about a couple in love. According to Gary Bonner, who wrote the song with Alan Gordon, the song is about unrequited love. Our desperate singer wants the girl to "imagine how the world could be so very fine," proposing what would happen "if I should call you up." The line in the fadeout, "How is the weather?" is when he realizes they will never be more than passing acquaintances, as he resorts to small talk to keep from bursting into tears. So there we go Heart fans...
  19. And since I stuffed up the merge let's leave it here but with an edited title!

  21. Missed most of last season with a meniscus injury. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vicente-fernandez/leistungsdaten/spieler/534263/plus/1?saison=2022
  22. I suppose that it does seem crazy on the surface. But I'm guessing that RUA doesn't have a lot of cash, and that it's easier and cheaper to select a national squad and have training sessions etc. locally than traipsing all around the world looking at players and bringing in players from all over the place for training sessions and matches. We often say that the Socceroos can't string more than two passes together and look as though they've only just met in the warm-up to the match... Don't know the answer for a country such as Australia.
