  1. Because I suspect that unless he does he cannot be the official coach.
  2. Sums it up perfectly.
  3. @D.B. CooperOf course you do. It's just something that seems to be forgotten by many. The inadequacies of the squad, such as signing players on unnecessarily long contracts, are down to him. I'm not saying Vidmar is a great coach, or that he's doing a good job, but basically his hands are tied just as Rado's were. IMO we're in for a period of upheaval at the club, much like the Fornaroli/Joyce era.
  4. Petrillo is in charge of recruitment and contracts, not our head coach...
  5. I listened to perhaps 90 seconds and had had enough. It's the same old, same old, mantra, just expressed slightly differently. "Things didn't work out for us, we did enough to get something out of the game, we'll regroup and do it all again next week, blah, blah, blah." The fundamental problem with this approach is believing that you are right (the "City way") and refusing to realise that you aren't always right and that there's a need to change. Sadly, I can't see change happening while this mentality pervades the club.
  6. This thread needs to be terminated.
  7. Worst squad we've ever had. Even in the dark days of Aloisi we played with spirit. I don't resile from the view that Lam, VdV, Sakhi, Rado, van Houten and the other assistant who left, all saw that there was no future here and that's why they walked. I'm looking forward to the next episode of "Talking City."
  8. The fuel is wet, the kindling is wet, the touch paper is wet, and we lost the matches some time ago...
  9. Like the others - left because he didn't get minutes. Management of the club is rotten to the core.
  10. 1. Jamie YOUNG (GK), 4. Nuno REIS, 6. Steven UGARKOVIC, 7. Mathew LECKIE, 8. James JEGGO, 9. Jamie MACLAREN (C), 10. Tolgay ARSLAN, 11. Leo NATEL, 14. Vicente FERNÁNDEZ, 15. Andrew NABBOUT, 17. Terry ANTONIS, 21. Alessandro LOPANE, 22. Curtis GOOD, 23. Marco TILIO, 25. Callum TALBOT, 26. Samuel SOUPRAYEN, 33. Patrick BEACH (GK), 37. Max CAPUTO, 38. Harry POLITIDIS, 44. Marin JAKOLIS. In: 10. Tolgay ARSLAN (returns from suspension), 11. Leo NATEL (returns from illness). Out: Nil. Unavailable: 2. Scott GALLOWAY (calf), 34. Arion SULEMANI (ACL), 46. Ben MAZZEO (ankle).
  11. IMO it's not just that he's "out of form," his strength is scoring goals and - as he admits himself - does not have the ball skills that some players have, and when he's not scoring he's essentially a passenger. Vidmar just hasn't shown the balls to to drop him and play Caputo instead.
  12. So, an Australian politician who was recruited by a foreign intelligence agency can't (yet?) be named, but a whistleblower who exposes wrongdoing faces a lifetime in jail? Well, FMD.
  13. The latest I can find about Mombaerts is that he is "Advisor" at Troyes...maybe the gloss has worn off a bit?
  14. Next match up Friday evening at Campbellfield. Which City is going to turn up?
  15. That's really irrelevant. The bottom four of Ligue 2 (17,18,19,20th) will be relegated - Bastia (15), Troyes (16), and Dunkerque (17) are all on 30 points. Troyes lost at home to Dunkerque at the weekend so they are still in great danger of dropping into the Championnat National.
  16. Click on his name and you'll see there is not much difference.
  17. I'd be interested to know whether the move to Casey Fields has had any impact on our attractiveness to players and staff and to young players in particular.
  18. TBH I think it's a bit unfair to compare the stats for a start-up club that had no youth team with an established club that's part of City Football Group. This is, what our 10th season as part of CFG? Put that into perspective and we ought to be ashamed of two pathetic performances in the Asian Champions League and the insipid football we are playing this season. The club that Ante Milicic called "the benchmark for the A-League?" IMO TalkingCity are right to call us out for "letting the fans down."
  19. If you click on the name of each individual manager you will get a better idea of performance. There you will see the breakdown into Wins, Draws and Losses. By looking at the %Draws and Losses you will get a good idea of who was/is actually the most successful in terms of points. The numbers are just A-League results.
  20. Suggest continue this discussion in the Manager and Assistant Coaches thread please folks.
  21. Best move the discussion here please folks. Overall: https://www.ultimatealeague.com/statistics/manager/?show=msm. Not quite sure whether that includes FFA/Australia Cup and AFC competitions or not. Our current coach does not have a good record...
  22. Yes, IMO Petrillo should never have allowed all these contracts to finish concurrently. But I don't resile from the view that it's deeper than that. Sakhi's abrupt departure, Behich's too. Then Van Houten and another assistant pulling the pin. These follow Lam and VDV walking away from their contracts at the end of last season. And Rado of course.
  23. Maybe, but as former captain he must be aware of anything amiss.
