  1. “This is a Warren Joyce issue”: Bolton https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/11/30/this-is-a-warren-joyce-issue-bolton/ Former Socceroos goalkeeper Clint Bolton believes Melbourne City coach Warren Joyce is entirely responsible for the current stand-off between himself and star striker Bruno Fornaroli. Fornaroli was left out of City’s matchday squad for the second consecutive week with Joyce indicating the Uruguayan's failure to meet club-imposed training standards. “It’s not a Bruno Fornaroli issue – this is a Warren Joyce issue,” Bolton told SEN Afternoons. "Ultimately, when Warren Joyce fronts up to the media and gives excuses around certain players as to why they’re not playing which don’t add up, the focus should be on Warren Joyce and not Bruno Fornaroli in this situation.” Bolton has great sympathy for City’s disgruntled supporter base who have planned a protest for this Sunday’s home match against Newcastle to vent their anger towards Joyce. “I have the highest respect for those fans that stick by this club, because they get short-changed, it’s a club that’s promised so much, underdelivered over time and these fans keep paying to turn up and cop this,” he added. “They’re not mugs, they understand that this isn’t a Bruno issue either. The rhetoric and the stuff that comes out of Melbourne City publicly is just garbage. “Bruno has been a very happy content player at Melbourne City in the first couple of years, all of a sudden that’s changed, you’ve got to ask why?” City currently sit in fifth position with seven points from their opening five games
  2. Yep. Joyce doesn't believe in sport science or video analysis. That is why Montemurro and Valkanis felt the need to alert CFG to Joyce's backwards methods. Well done to Brian Marwood for finding a coach who doesn't analyse opponents and ignores the conditioning staff.
  3. I think you could be close to the mark, especially since Dave Lewis has "written" the article. The article itself is illogical crap, attempting to link Sydney's alleged attempt to sign Bruno with Joyce dropping Bruno for a match in round 5. It appears to be a very clumsy attempt to make Bruno look difficult and selfish.
  4. Genreau is more of an attacking player. Ive been asking myself, is Berenguer any better than Genreau?

  6. Maybe I am being unreasonable but I expect a Visa attacking midfielder to be able to do more than just chase and apply pressure. He had a fair bit of time and space with the ball on Friday night and did very little with it.
  7. That's a fair point regarding Leicester. However, I wasn't that impressed with him against Victory. Victory played a narrow 442 diamond so he didn't have a direct opponent out wide for the entire game. And even with all of that time and space his touch was heavy, his crossing wayward and he couldn't properly weight a pass.
  8. Well put everyone. All I can add to that is we have no discernable defensive structure and we have no plan for when we have the ball. We have a formation but we have no system.
  9. Impressive athlete, poor technician. A decent player but not marquee quality. Its laughable to think that Joyce thought he was good enough for Man U.
  10. I'd argue that Toivonen has proven himself at a far higher level than RDL. Played at a European Championships, scored at a World Cup and been apart of 5 Europa League campaigns for PSV (scoring 13 goals). I think our signings have gone under the radar because they are unremarkable compared to the other signings around the league.
  11. 1) Visitors Perth Sydney Adelaide City Newcastle CCM WSW Brisbane Wellington 2) Visitors 3) McCormick 4) Aloisi 5) Warren Joyce will continue to unnecessarily add "to be fair" and "really" to the end of sentences. 6) City will start quite well and fade towards Christmas as the rest of the league works out how to nullify us. To counter this, there will be significant squad turnover in January. Our new signings will give us a boost until the last few weeks of the season, where our form will dip again as the rest of the league works out how to nullify our new signings. (Which seems to happen every season).
  12. Dario isn't getting dropped, his dad is the Technical Director.
  13. He seems like a decent visa signing but it looks like I'm the only one a little underwhelmed with de Laet as a marquee. I'm not opposed to having a marquee defender but when Wellington are able to sign Steven Taylor under the cap I was hoping we could find are higher quality of player than de Laet for marquee. The pedigree of imports across the league has increased significantly this season and although we appear to have improved depth, I'm not sure that the absolute quality of our first XI has significantly improved (I can see I am in the minority with this view).
  14. So in answer to the question 'What has Celtic done for Rogic?' you have said; 1) He is not injured (currently). 2) Celtic have big crowds. 3) Celtic are in Europe.
  15. Have we heard anything new on Gulum? With the visitors losing Williams and Donachie I get the horrible feeling they might make a big play for him.
  16. Every time I read "Southern Expansion" it makes me giggle.
  17. While he remains under contract at Melbourne City for another year, It’s common knowledge Arzani and his management team are intent on engineering the swift departure his audacious ability demands. https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/london-calling-as-in-demand-arzani-jets-off-to-resolve-his-future
  18. They have been trying to resign him since January.
  19. He is only contracted for 1 more season. If CFG want to make some money they will be listening to offers now.
