  1. tell ya what, we will finish 6th, but only because Newcastle have given up. Right now - 2 games clear of 7th - but need a miracle to win any of our next 3.
  2. you could see that from his first games. Just no good. Tell you what, Harrison isnt exactly filling me with much either. No idea how he thinks he could forge a career in the English top flight.
  3. how on earth could anybody support Wazza, Munn or any other long-standing key employee? I would be funny it wasnt so predictable. Another coach clearly out of his depth - and just nothing.
  4. I totally get the turnover thing, but you pick your time. You dont keep most of the mid table rubbish team we have right now. We got the squad wrong from the start, adding to the wrong coach and the wrong club leaders (CEO). If there was ever time for serious change it is now. Use Mclaren as the base to creating a great A-league 11, and much cheaper rest of squad. Dont waste money on players offering nothing. Base wage can cover that. This IS the time to cut the cr!p and actually get the right people in the right positions.
  5. Hi Scott. Seriously, take that down. You're embarrassing yourself.
  6. more like adelaide wanting him to stay. WTF was that lol?
  7. common sense says Mclaren wasnt brought in for this coach or system/style. We have to let this season fizzle out - and start fresh next season. The club's balls still haven't dropped, we have cajones to sack the bloke.
  8. Utter pi$$weak 'leak' by the club. He is obviously gone, no club in their right mind could continue with this clown, however clearly we havnt got the balls to make the statement and sack him. He will be 'mutually terminated' or he will 'return for personal/family reasons' blah blah after he doesnt reach this 'target' we have no hope of reaching. Just sack him NOW and be done with it. He has had the two of the poorest seasons in this league's history (is there even a good team this season?) and he has just made a mockery of the club and of the sport. Dead set you'd rather stick needles in your eyes before watching us for a full 90.
  9. reports literally in the last couple of minutes on twitter are that Hibs have terminated Mclaren to allow him to move to us. I thought the window was closed - but apparently in this case we can have until the German window closes? Next hour or so will reveal all.
  10. If true, and the sources seem legit then this further proves the point I have tried to make all along - CFG are not just seeing us a feeder club for players and really do want to win this league - they just dont know how/have relied on poor advice on the ground level at our club. Fact is, the 'scouting network' can not get their head around the a-league and have been poor for us (generally). Forget the expectation of them finding a gem from somewhere. Thus, I am much happier at going for proven a-league talent - significantly lowers the risk on the player and this season is shaping up as a very winnable one. Not many good clubs at all and a fairly run of the mill glory now looks like running away with it. Victory just have lost all creativity with one injury.
  11. yep, it has been discussed on here before. I have no doubt the seating should be opened up, cheaper tickets etc to get the club going. The A-league really isn't a good spend of your entertainment dollar at all - in fact it is horrendous. Compare it to the BBL for example. Heck, AFL is a much better proposition and it is the elite league of the code globally. It has to be compared to alternatives here in Melbourne, not the UK. And lets be honest, the quality seems to be deteriorating on-field. No atmosphere at stadiums or on TV (bar some games), horrific choice of stadia across the league, too many games (for the # of clubs rendering so many useless and irrelevant) and an utter $ premium to have to the privilege to sit through it. But it's just gonna happen because soccer is global and big in europe etc...the attitude is killing this game in this country. Always has - doesn't know its position/role in the landscape due to arrogance creating incompetence.
  12. Wazzaball just makes you hate the sport - would rather stick needles in me eyes than sit through. Dunno how most of the 4K are still there. Not sure how the hierarchy of the club can accept this rubbish. I hope they realize the only reason we are collecting points is because the rest of the league is rubbish as well. Victory are just bog average but are going to win it again by being the least worst!
  13. well he aint in the squad! is he being used to get/target Mclaren?
  14. this window will give us a good insight to how things are really going. Do we have our $h!t together at all? Can we not see that not many teams out there (if any) really have it all together either, and the this is the 2nd season in a row that the title is there for the taking. Victards will probably win it again, as they are least basket-case team in the league generally. We just need to finally get it together - need to improve the final third of the field. We will just make a mess of the list yet again Im sure.
  15. according to David Davutovic, western melbourne/geelong to enter the season next year. Hmm, not sure this is the best choice and another 'soccer balls up? SE Melbourne surely was the go re population and growth - and havnt the victards already kinda morphed into a western-sided team?
  16. he is where he always is - MISSING! No matter which way you dice it, the total failure of this club can ONLY be placed on this bloke, or should I say position. He aint a CEO's ar$eho!e! send him back to the suns - he can clean up that mess. Utter salary-thief this bloke.
  17. I cant get to all games anyway, but have already made my decision to not attend again until Munn is gone (at a minimum). Ive checked out. Next year, they will see it as another member down.
  18. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind Munn is the major problem here. Can not drive a culture of success to save himself. is absolutely invisible as a "CEO" - and if CFG have marginalized his position (I doubt it as nothing much changed from heart to cfg) then they need to understand it is the most important position at the club. In a salary capped league, Wazza needs to be managed to the point that he can not simply turn from our 'good' players. You can not simply buy success like other places here. Zero doubts - Munn & Joyce = out of their depth in their positions.
  19. again, we have been told they have an objective with global game style, beautiful attacking etc - so how do you explain Wazza? Dour, negative and anti-football from the outset. Youth development? Again - how do you explain our team selections? we are hardly flooding the team with youth - half the time wazza doesnt use the youth on the bench, sometimes not even using all of his subs! recruitment for political purposes???? Fact is - they are trying, it screams more of being mislead by the club management whom have no idea whatsoever and really are an embarrassment and are flat out stealing their salary moreso than CFG apparently having other objectives which make no sense. In some ways, CFG need to realise that it is just as hard to win the a-league as the premier league. You cant simply buy success here. We haven't surrounded the 'football department' with the right people to drive this thing forward. Until that is fixed, everything else is going to breakdown.
  20. what do you mean they dont invest? They would have invested more than any other club over the period they have been owners. It is just the 'what' they have invested in is the problem. They really are struggling to find players in the sweet spot of good a-league level for the right money. Other clubs do it much, much better than us. Not about investing at all. No idea re NYC, but I can tell you they put in a (basically) first time coach for 2 seasons - and first time MLS coach. Reads like the Wazza stuff up. Again, like us - totally underestimating what is required in these leagues. We need the street-wise nous for this league. We need to drink cement - gain a backbone. etc.
  21. as I said above, I actually disagree with youse on this point. The club (CFG) wants to succeed - even if you believe it isnt their core focus, achieving the ultimate success can only help with achieving the rest. Asia is surely on their radar, regardless of what you think. I honestly think, as above they are listening to people who have no clue (ie our CEO) and have no idea about how to succeed in such a league, with the cap and other particularities. First thing first, we need to find the best A-league proven CEO. The rest flows from there.
  22. The funniest part about Munn is being an AFL employee, and his 'achievement' was putting together the 'bid' to bring the Gold Coast Suns to fruition. A club that has basically done everything wrong from the second it was incorporated, and if it wasn't for the AFL's insistence to keep that market, the club would not have survived as long as Gold Coast united. Utterly out of his depth - and the club listens to this bloke! When will he be heard from next? Not a "CEO's" ar$ehole.
