  1. a dour coach, who has put together a dour squad, overseen by a dud 'ceo' stealing a salary with a foreign owner seemingly distant. Club culture leaves a lot to be desired.
  2. we have enough of the ball, just dont even look like doing anything with it. Structurally, all at sea. No dangerous player at all. Just a train wreck.
  3. one of the worst pound for pound squads ever put together in this league? With our resources, to put this bunch of blokes together with no creativity is just diabolical. not even sure how long I will stay invested this season, boring and horrible to watch with no prospects of success at all. just scoring is a win for us.
  4. exactly - everything needs to be forensically reviewed. Shit crowds - lethargic atmosphere, lethargic/inconsistent performances etc. Is it a surprise our best efforts seem to be against Victory? Nothing can be ruled out and nor should it. Take another one - we should review Bundoora as a location for a training base. Do our players who chose to come to Melbourne, one of the great cities in the world then have to travel to/from Bundoora every day like it? Sure, you may accept a huge european club having a training base in the outskirts as those mega stars want to be away from the people. Not sure that is the case in our league. St Kilda moving their training base to Frankston nearly destroyed the club and they "quickly" fixed this if you believe reports. Fact is, players who leave us seem to be better, if not 'less shit' the second they depart. There is something wrong here and it has to start with Munn as a minimum.
  5. Your initial point was silly, and now you are making it worse. A 50K crowd in our league would never move. I dont care who you are. Our crowds, in this city with the alternatives banging the door down mean that without CFG, the club as a going concern is in serious doubt.
  6. Huge game, gonna go out on a limb as say one of the biggest in club history. We just have to rebound. Reckon last week was pound 4 pound our worst ever loss. Expectation v Result etc. We just have to rebound, have no choice. A bad loss has dire consequences Id say. I think last week has a lot of us feeling very apathetic towards the club.
  7. not sure I understand the argument that CFG are this rigid mob, who really run the show and Munn and co are puppets with their hands tied etc. I think the evidence points to the exact opposite - Wazza is not a CFG type and does not play the style they would endorse at all. I think CFG actually got taken for the ride by Munn and co and have jumped at shadows - agreeing to go back to defensive basics and effectively going against what they are trying to stand for globally. Wazza just makes no sense to me. Plays a terrible brand, doesn't even use all his subs which goes against the youth argument. And this is 180 degrees to the global desires of the brand. CFG need to wake up and concede that the A-league, whilst not the greatest in the world, is a very different beast and must be approached differently. 2 positions need to be addressed ASAP - we need the best, proven A-league experienced CEO. Just buy him - he will drive the club, the culture and people! We then go back to basics and get the best, proven A-league experienced coach we can. Everything else can flow from there.
  8. the superleague this is all the major clubs in europe, not just CFG. The deal with UEFA on taking a a lesser penalty in a deal is hardly abnormal in the sports or business world. If anything, UEFA may have to explain but not CFG. Werent AC Milan kicked out of the Europa league due to FFP, then re-admitted after the new owner appealed to them etc. Happens all the time. That's even if there is any truth to any of it.
  9. Id suggest Joyce wake up and start thinking long and hard about this season. He fell out of an ar*e last season where he dour cr@p was 'saved' by two things - 1. a honeymoon season whereby the whole league was down - very ordinary season & 2. Arzani arrived. This season, most teams have their sh*t together and frankly, on paper I can not see how we make finals with our squad. In fact, Im not even sure we go close unless something dramatically changes which history tells this club or coach wont do. 3 very very poor games to start the season. By rights, should only have a point at this stage so that is a bonus.
  10. 2 leagues which are at an extremely low level, and can effectively be bought? These wins could be argued add to our culture issue in one sense- the a-league, unlike europe, can be 'bought'. Long-term strategy, structure and culture is needed as much as your capacity to buy players. Our 'scouts' seemingly cant even do what we thought our global advantage was. One CEO and 3 coaches in a decade or so of, lets be honest, misery. That is culture - our core KPI's do not revolve around ultimate success. If this keeps up, 4-5K will be the norm at home games and the club better not complain or shift the blame! #MunnWazzaOUTBackboneIN
  11. laughed at that too. One word. Culture. The CEO position may be the one that needs changing first.
  12. Need a CEO - our culture must be utter mush inside the walls. Coaching seemingly a reflection - just meander through the season win some, lose some who cares etc. Real issue is unlike last season, a lot of teams are actually decent for this level. Not only is it hard to see us making finals, it could get a lot worse! We are of no threat this season. No creativity, no goals.
  13. we seemingly have spent so much on defense, no creativity at all...and cant defend! Alarm bells should be going off left, right and center at sleepy hollow, Bundoora. Watch em do nothing.
  14. last season was a freakish season were noone was much good. First home game of the season and we turn up asleep - like most of the crowd are right now. Some/most of this has to be on the dourest of dour coaches. If this club had a backbone, it wouldn't be acceptable.
  15. lol caceras. The potato gets another go. might be on to make our french potato feel better about himself.
  16. I tell ya what wazza is very lucky we fluked that win against the tards. Woeful start to the season, after assembling a very questionable squad... heat should be on him. The effort just isnt there.
  17. huh? it was mcgree, and they could easily have had 3-4. More about us being utterly insipid though.
  18. we have to put up with the dour, creativity-lacking eye sore performances of this gaffer - yet turn up constantly with no intensity and play like our feet are stuck in the mud. Think we have outsmarted ourselves by half - get the best local coach we can and train us for the local conditions. Oh, and why do we always seem to play like the squad was put together 5 minutes before kickoff?
  19. putrid yet again. This squad as massive issues. No creativity at all - dont even look like scoring. Defense is lucky we aint 3 down. hopefully this mob are out on their feet after 60...
  20. early reports he has done his ACL. unbelievable. absolutely incredible. I know these things happen, but the poor kid needed continuity for at least another 12-24 months and he didnt get it. This sets him back a long way.
  21. hopefully he gets on. Just horrific for his development this move. Was never ready for Europe (yet). Needs a season or 2 of 90 minute performances.
  22. major issue as the squad has so little goals in it to be begin with. Thought we needed another striker to begin with, if this keeps up will need another two but will obviously do nothing about it. Gonna call it early - unless this bloke's form dramatically improves or we can somehow tweak it to create the goal scoring monster again, we can basically write another season off before it begins. No league-quality no10, no league-quality scorer. Not gonna go far. let's be honest, he goes down way too easily and it is coming home to roost. Cant blame anyone but himself for not getting paid free kicks IMO.
  23. Was not a penalty, joke of a decision. but i think the ref called the initial tug/hold, not the 'push' which was non existent. Both were in the box. For clarity, neither a foul!
