  1. I think he's a very good footballer, but not quite a game changer or a player who generates numbers. He finds nice pockets of space and is very intelligent on and off the ball. With some more productive, direct players in the final third (ie. not Craig Noone) alongside him he could be quite damaging. If we can get an explosive, impact type on the other wing then I'd be very interested in keeping him as a non-marquee player.
  2. I am very much enjoying the late career renaissance of Griffiths the Centre-Half. Regardless of the performance of his replacement this week I'd be slotting him right back in.
  3. I think that's a deliberate approach tbh. It's something we would like to do in the future, but I'm not sure the club are particularly keen for Brad to be as public a mouthpiece as Scott was.
  4. In a league full of cringe, the RBB somehow always find a way to top the lot.
  5. Some quality posting in here lately
  6. Jamo should get a medal for standing on Kamsoba's ankle. Bloke's the most overrated player in the league.
  7. The hotdog stand is decent tbf
  8. 3 points a must here. Very interested to see how we line up, given the the selection issues @Harrison mentioned.
  9. I think suggesting there's an acceptance of mediocrity in the fan-base, then claiming the poor performances are the main driving factor for a low attendance are directly in opposition to each other. Something it's also necessary to remember is that this forum is a very small representation of fans who take an active interest in the club, and as such it only taps into a smaller element of the fanbase. A simple scouring of any social media account linked to Melbourne City demonstrates a considerably more negative mindset than you often see on here, again though, how representative of the overall fanbase are those individuals? I don't think our supporters are largely accepting of mediocrity at all. To be honest, after the last season we endured the progress we've made on the field should indeed be viewed as a positive, even if we're still not where we need to be. Joyce basically took this club back to where we were BEFORE winning the FFA Cup when it seemed like we were ready to hit another gear following our first piece of silverware. We've done it to death on here, but you can't exaggerate just how damaging his tenure at the club was. Disastrous, dour football, insufficient on-field results and multiple fan favourites forced out the door when Joyce was unable to get along with them. "We've lost almost all the growth that was taking place" Agree, and I feel the majority of that falls on Warren's management tenure. A draw with Perth on the weekend wasn't a disastrous result, and saying so isn't accepting mediocre results, it's being realistic. Regardless of their current position on the table, Perth are an excellent team and have caused us problems almost every time we've played them recently. We managed to nullify their much heralded strike force and created a couple of chances that we really should have scored (JMac's early chance in particular). The desired result? No. Progress against what we've typically done recently? Yes, in my opinion anyway. EDIT: Realized I didn't address your Florin comments. Florin's shit, he's not good enough to be a marquee. The club got cute with that and it blew up in their face. However giving Susaeta a short term deal (before hopefully offering a marquee deal if he works out), could demonstrate that they've learned an important lesson there regarding backended marquee deals.
  10. It's been done to death really. Understand some might see it as an important talking point, but it's approaching 'flares' or 'poor form under Joyce' territory IMO.
  11. My order of preference 1) Draw 2) Sydney win 3) Scum win The draw at least gives us a tiny glimmer of hope, but Sydney are gonna be very hard to catch if we're being honest. I couldn't imagine much worse than the Victory getting Rojas back and beating Sydney in the same week though.
  12. 20 second clips here and there on twitter don't tell a complete story, just like insane highlight videos of extreme moments of quality. The vast majority of social media commentary I saw from Sydney fans when we signed Brillante was that he was done as a star midfielder in this league and had been average at best for them over the past 12 months. We all know how that went.... Hendry's got a good enough CV for me to be confident he'll be a success for us. I could be wrong, but I'm not having to have that confidence swayed by a few video clips and some angry Celtic fans.
  13. You're drawing a conclusion on a player (who's been deemed good enough to play 3 games for Scotland) based off of that 20 second twitter video?
  14. Both, I'm pretty sure. Or perhaps JP was just on the field as well. Either way, dickhead.
  15. Could've told you that after he entered the pitch and placed his hands on an opposition player
  16. Big deal, so has just about every other club in the league. The Tards are far from the pinnacle of running a club in this league anyway. Sydney have managed to instill a culture and structure that has run from one manager to the next, whereas the Tards have already started to fall off the moment Muscat walked away
  17. I don't think Rass is really defending CFG at all tbh, more so scoffing at the championing of the Victory as an example the club should follow and emulate.
  18. I dislike Joyce as much as anyone, but in his first season we finished third (our highest ever finish) and were a VAR fuck-up from making our first Asian Champions League. No other club in this league is a sacking a manager after he takes them to their highest ever finish and gets them within a bees dick of their inaugural Asian campaign. He should have been removed early during his second season IMO.
  19. Ruined an entire season of Talking City too, which is the greatest sin of all IMO
