  4. Umm why you have thrown Panathinaikos in there, what does that have to do with anything? Interested what would your thoughts be if instead of sky blue, someone came and tried changing our kit to all green? Just to see who'd took the bait! Looks like we've found ourselves the re-branded MUTD/MLBCTY/ESSNDON And to answer your question - MUTD/MLBHRT/ESSNDON (you) made it very public that Heart's red & white stripes reminded him (you) of Olympiacos who he (you) hates and which supporters hate Olympiacos the most? Yep, you guessed it, Panathinaikos! Since I'm an Olympiacos fan, I thought I make a joke about it I didn't realise you'd give up your new username that easily though! haha Shit detective skills...original post only a few days ago. Rass account made in march
  5. have any other a league clubs started their pre seasons?
  6. first year i can afford a membership!! been a fan of the club since day one. Signed up my two younger brothers too! +3
  7. Generally your only as strong as your weakest link. In football this may not always be the case. However having quality across the board would be preferred. The more marquee tiered players we have the better
  8. Exactly, he has a terrible work rate. The man is quality. And based on signings so far he will get the service he needs. Also take into account that he was only 17 when he went to Germany. as a developing player he didnt start many games until he moved to Dynamo Dresden where in his first season at a club struggling for a mid table finish finished the season as there 2nd top scorer. He then got noticed by a first division team who saw enough to offer him a three year contract. After rupturing his Achilles he did not make many appearances for Nurenburg who transferred him to Karlsruher where an argument with the coach also left him on the sidelines. After this he got a transfer to the J league where he has twice finished with the golden boot as well as scoring very consistently. Would be an excellent signing for us.
  9. I think you mean "bad"? And why would it be a bad pickup? Proven goalscorer in international football, bundesliga and J league Is it because hes not greek?
  10. It certainly helps, yes, but Croatia for example only has 5 players from it's local league in its squad, and our 'Golden Generation' came about during the NSL era. I am not arguing that a strong domestic league is meaningless, but that we really screwed up in raising a second 'Golden Generation' because of past coaches' reluctance to utilise younger players. Thats a common fallacy. The root cause is the abject failure of the youth NT to produce the players that right now should be forming the bulk of the NT squad. That youth team was the 2008 Olympic squad. Of that squad of 23, only Spiranovic (who has made a career out of a step over and shot in that tournament), Troisi and Milligan survive in the current NT. The rest are in the A-league, de-listed or lower Euro leagues. Argentina who was in the same group have these players in the current WC squad from that tournament: Romero,Garay, Zabaleta, Gago, Mascherano, Benega, Di Maria, Sosa, Aguero, Messi, Levezzi. The people involved in selecting the players for our squad should be blind-folded and put in front of a firing squad. How can they have been the best players in the country when 6 years later 20 out of the 23 are nowhere near international quality. Without that natural progression, how is any NT coach supposed to regenerate the squad with youth? Verbeek played over 100 players FFS! These players never displaced the older player because they were not good enough. LMAO Tando Velaphi made that olympics squad
  11. Valeri been signed by victory on a three year deal
  12. Yeah amd that was written as a joke
  13. I got the actual date it was written.... April 1 not even funny
  14. Duff is a class player. Has an eye for goal and a killer pass massive improvement on iain ramsay on the left. Could also see him playing as a no. 10 as he likes to come in the middle of the pitch. Would prefer for him not to be on marquee wages as we could likely do much better but tbh wouldnt be too upset if he did get the marquee spot. A class player and would likely bang in a handful of goals as well as being a very creative outlet.
  15. This article was published mid april so could be alot more truth to this then appears at first

  18. http://m.footballaustralia.com.au/melbourne-heart-news-display/Vant-Schip-Finalises-Coaching-Roles/90665/309 Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John van’t Schip has finalised his coaching support staff for the forthcoming Hyundai A-League 2014-15 season, led by the appointment of Championship-winning Brisbane Roar assistant coach, Luciano Trani. Trani will join Melbourne Heart as its Senior Assistant Coach, fresh from helping steer Roar to a Premiers Plate and Championship double during the 2013-14 season. A former assistant at Wellington Phoenix and Adelaide United, Trani joins with a proven track record in the A-League. “We are very fortunate to have a well-respected and highly motivated coach like Luc to help build the Club both now and in the future,” van’t Schip said. “Luc has had success with Brisbane last season but also got excellent results at the other clubs he has been involved with. He is a proven winner and will ensure we get as much out of our players as possible.” Melbourne Heart’s Foxtel National Youth League team will again be led by Joe Palatsides for the upcoming season, with the former Socceroo heading into his third season at the helm. In addition to Trani, Football Federation Australia elite junior coach Ivan Jolic will join as Assistant Coach to van’t Schip, joining remaining Assistant Coach Joey Didulica. Jolic has worked with the state’s most talented junior players as the Victorian head of the FFA’s Skills Acquisition Program for the past four years, while Didulica continues to build on an accomplished playing career in which he worked under the likes of 2014 FIFA World Cup coaches Louis van Gaal (the Netherlands) and Joachim Low (Germany). “I am happy with the balance of the coaching staff we have for next season,” van’t Schip said. “There is a great mix of experience and skills and a solid understanding of the game at a local, national and international level. “We are confident that we will get the most out of the senior and youth players with these coaches.” In addition to bringing high quality national experience to the Club, all four support staff are locally-bred coaches with a deep and tangible connection to grassroots football in Victoria.
