  1. Very interesting article. Didn't think it would be too long before CFG started to flex its muscles against FFA. Not sure its flexing , its more using its resources to make stuff happen that couldn't happen before. Plenty of previous/current owners had cash, but not as much football knowledge. City obviously have both and if there willing to fly out all the owners i'm guessing they don't mind spending a bit to test the waters. One of the AFC requirements is to have an independent operator of the comp. This might just push it along. There are always pro's and cons - A con could be that it will leave the FFA with less money to grow the sport. This is my guess as to why the FFA don't want to let go. F1 owners goes through the same thing every now and then to try and take back the sport, they end up getting more cash from bernie each time.
  2. This is the first game im not going to this season! Maybe i'm bad luck - let see
  3. Thanks for the data, much appreciated. Can you please do attendances next? Ha! I'll leave that to JW (?) - apparently he has historical data of every home game attendance! If you ask him nicely, he might make a pretty graph and post it for you These guys keep all the attendance stats http://www.ultimatealeague.com/records.php?type=att&season=2014-15
  4. I wouldn't mind a new hat but there are none of them left either. I was contemplating the "Hoges" style terry toweling look hat, but i'm more a baseball cap bloke,
  5. i'm still not getting the conspiracy theories here. City will wear Red and white for another 10 games this year. And it does look awesome. If they didn't want red and white they wouldn't have made the away strip them colors There is no merchandise available, not just the away strip. We are just not used to having so many people wanting to buy our stuff! Just depressing when so many people are so passionate about conclusions jumped to on the future of the club. No one knows what will be next year. One would assume the a-league 2 year rule on colors still exists so next years kit will be identical to this years kit (Home and away) . Live for the now
  6. I copped crap after 1 round for saying he wasn't putting in. Probably fair enough after 1 game. The no Service Exuse is wearing a bit thin. Give anyone good service and they will score In the first 3 games i think we put more balls in a scoring position than ever before, just not many were converted I would expect the best player in the world (at one point in time) to be able to make things happen rather than have stuff served up on a platter Maybe my expectations are out of whack Looking forward to round 5.
  7. A bit harsh i think. The club is in the best position its ever been in. Our lineup is pretty good. Villa Chose to go to NYCFC, we just asked if we could borrow him, we had zero chance of making him marquee. he was a bonus that could not have happened without the new owners. The club still is being operated sensibly as there is no benefit o running at a loss for too long. Just like koren, villa could have got injured as well, This is part of the game and hopefully the rest of the team has enough quality to make up for it. That first half in Sydney without Koren, Williams or Villa was the best i've seen the team play (in 5 years) I Cant see to many mistakes being made so far. Its just going to get better.
  8. You couldn't play with a calf injury even if you wanted to. I've ripped mine a dozen times, and i can tell you only time will heal, an extra week after you think its good will double its healing strength - not worth risking
  9. yes.. $32.50 ++ ticket handling and all that shit Melb Vic wants you to pay.. hope they split it 50 - 50 with MCFC! Most expensive tickets in the A-league are in Melbourne. How can a rugby club offer $15 tickets at AAMI? Our cheapest were nearly double. Its a joke. Free to air TV rights, pay so much more and can subsidise the clubs Alas, on Foxtel or SBS on Friday for A League Supply and demand - Derby's have sold out every time or come close to selling out. The Derby tickets have a premium on them cause the can. If no one went , the prices would be cheaper. We make our Derby tickets at aami also more expensive.
  10. The biggest dissapointment is that GA was almost full and you cant sit where you want if you're late Will be interesting to see how long it lasts. My observation was there were many "Casual" attired patrons and it looked like a footy crowd (As oppossed to last year when the whole crowd looked like it followed us) On the football side, we got potential, we seem to know how to hang on to the ball and win it back, the goals will come. No matter what the critisism of our active area, the fact is it was full and there were double the amount of people getting involved compared to last year. I'm sure that will improve as time goes by as well. I Sat up the other end and was impressed. The new Era is here !
  11. Group 5 (like group 3) : You followed the team before , you follow it now. You have 1 or 2 MHFC tops or scarves or hats that were over priced or you bought them on sale and you are not about to pay overs on another top at this time. You wear what you own. My guess is this is the majority group Need to remember this forum only reaches out to the super passionate 2% Even a fair chunk of our new members were still fans before now, and probably owned a Red shirt or hat. The crowd ill be "red, white & Sky blue" An awesome combination
  12. Hmmm...looks better on its own than on a player, in my opinion. As the shirts continue to make their way to supporters, is there any more info on the sizes and how they compare to our past manufacturers? Noticed the biggest shirt for the Nike offer was large last time I checked and unless they're pretty generous (6'6 and about 98kg) that will literally be a stretch. I'm 6"0 and a solid athletic build, large fits me perfectly. If your 6"6 I'd think you need an extra large Yeah, wouldn't risk it...smart money is on me being an XL. I guess I'll just try one on at Rebel. My new large Nike home shirt is slightly bigger than my Reebok (L) and which was a touch larger than my ISC (L) Turns out i ate to much in the off season, but am confident of fitting in it by Sunday ! Its a football not a donut Its a football not a donut Its a football not a donut Mr schrecky you fat cunt And my kids still think your awesome !!! - I'm having second thoughts Mmmm Donuts

  14. I looked at them. (before i upgraded to the reserved seats) I would guess based on previous derbys, you would need to arrive 90 minutes early to snag them seats, remembering victory regulars also have their eyes on them seats.
  15. Might I ask where you found that reference? It looks to be what I've been looking for unsuccessfully. Short of counting the seats i've been looking for the same thing (Also unsuccessfully)..
  16. I think last year when your area was 50% empty it was more inviting as you could just move to a vacant seat. I notice all A prem is sold for the first game. There will be nowhere for non seat holders to go. They are generally OK at policing, the members will do their own policing in a&b prem as they paid a lot more.
  17. I'd say Duff will probably wanna finish up in Ireland so he'll probably only be with us for one season. Replacing Duff with Bresc under the salary cap next season is plausible, which means we'll be able to have Jesus as our Aus marquee. Duff has already stated that he wishes to finish his football career playing in the League of Ireland. In this article he contemplates "a year or two elsewhere" before returning home: http://www.waterford-news.ie/2014/04/16/duff-eyeing-summer-move-abroad/ If we can have a reasonable season, and he can as well, IMO we can get another year from him if we want to. He said that before he came to city , he might change his mind if we are awesome and play til the end.
  18. They will let you upgrade for a $9.50 rebooking fee. I Tried but cause my AMEX card got cancelled last week it seemed to hard - GA for me this time
  19. He scored in his first 15 minutes of play since July... What the hell do expect of him? Run up and down, box to box all day? I didn't see Ryall get too involved once Villa was on, such was his presence. To say he didn't help the team out and had 'lack of effort' is just dumb sorry. I agree. We've got one of the world's best players playing for us, a quiet, thoughtful and humble man, and a thoroughly professional footballer, who debuts for us in our beloved red-and-white stripes, scores the goal enabling us to bring home a point from a tough match, thereby providing us with lasting images that 12 months ago we couldn't even dream about...and some people are not satisfied? I do wonder sometimes... Oh i'm satisfied, Couldn't ask for a better start - Game 1 in the red and white all over the media, didn't lose. could have scored multiple in the first half. and probably should have walked away with the points. If their is any disatisfaction its we let a game slip that we should have won. it was just an observation. Another observation is our defense fell to pieces in the second half. I'm sure he will be great this week after another 8 days training with the team.
  20. He might have to put more than 20% effort into the next game. Sure he might score , but would be great if he could help the rest of the team out. Am i the only one that saw his lack of movement and effort on Saturday . I sat in front of mad Sydney and Villa fan on saturday... When he scored his words were " Man, he stands there does nothing, then from nowhere scores " then he got all emotional
  21. Victory are selling 3 game packages ! At least all our members are full season ones (so far)
  22. Disappointment is part of following this team !
  23. Our First Home Game attendance trend for 5 years 2010 V CCM 11050 (First ever game) 2011 V Perth 7229 (Fred is the attraction) 2012 V Wellington 10907 (Won the derby round 1 ) 2013 V CCM 8734 (With Harry K ) 2014 V Newcastle ???? (City takeover , Villa in) Based on 30% growth we would say 13,000 roughly to next weeks game
  24. They sounded alright on TV. Their chant that involved the side's of the ground was pretty cool. Couldn't understand what they were saying but it still looked cool The chant - "Sydney FC" They were better than i thought they would be and were as loud as any other big active area, could hear them good enough from the reserved City Area! The flags at the start seemed a pretty impressive Visual.
