  1. With NZ it needs to be all or nothing. That means at least 2 teams (can't see anymore being viable unless we have 2 divisions one day), and not counting kiwis as foreigners for any team. Currently Wellington have an advantage in that they can sign Kiwis and Aussies and neither counts to the foreign player limit. But for everyone else Kiwis do. Of course we need the NZ FA fully behind it as well, which I don't think is an issue, and perhaps involved as a stakeholder now that the idea of decentralising the league is getting traction.
  2. That's probably taking it too far, and FIFA wouldn't like it. But I think NZ being part of our league is fine, similar situation to the MLS. There are just too many issues with the SEA idea. Firstly you've got much less developed economies, basically just relying on pure population from a financial side. Stadiums will surely not be of a great standard. Corruption and match fixing, I don't trust the region one bit in this regard. Geographically it starts to get too big. And like I said FIFA won't like a regional superleague. The only country I would really be interested in is Singapore, but it's too far away to just include a team from there. Maybe one day we can have a regional 'champions league' style competition for SEA, but as for our main league I don't like it.
  3. Auckland would be top of my list, I believe in making this am Australian and NZ league and you can't ignore a population that big. The NZ FA would be on board, hopefully even government. There has to be investors out there as well.
  4. The South Sydney bid is a joke TBH, I hate these city planner type teams creating artificial supporter bases. People in Wollongong want a Wollongong team, and even if a South Sydney team could capture some of that fan base the idea of moving home games between grounds in different cities is even more ridiculous. Fans from Sydney dont want to go to Wollongong to watch their team play every 3rd home game. Either have a South Sydney team that plays their home games in one place and hope that it attracts some Wollongong fans, or have a team based in each of those two places, or just have a wollongong team. Any of those 3 options are okay, but the current South Sydney proposal is worse than any of those other 3 options. Also, 2nd WA team? Can only be Perth, so you mean 2nd Perth team. No idea if that is a reality, maybe Cad or heda1k can comment but hasnt the growth over their died off now that the mining boom is over? 2nd Brisbane team, I think it should be looked at as SE Qld rather than Brisbane, and so a 2nd SE Qld team targeting another centre within SE Qld is probably the better idea. 2nd Adelaide team, not enough of a fan base. Canberra seems like a good idea to me, if the right bid comes along. Geelong, I really dont know, you've got a decent sized region around it taht is growing and would have good soccer fan base but I dont know if it's enough right now. Tasmania, no idea either TBH if there are enough soccer fans etc. Personally I believe in sticking to big population areas, Auckland being the most obvious untapped market (issues there of past failure and wether we want another NZ team), and maybe smaller population areas with a good soccer fan base (canberra, wollongong). Unlike most I am not at all against the idea of more Melbourne and Sydney teams, the idea that they are unsustainable is BS in my opinion. Market them right and you can attract the fans, thats the beauty of a big city you only need a small % of the population to be a success. Far more potential than the fetish over small towns that most A-League fans seem to have.

  6. Me and Pauline see eye to eye on very little, but at least she seems to be reasonable in her dealing and negotiations with the government as DL and even Hinch seem to be. Whereas Lambie and NXT dont seem to be.
  7. If they want feedback, they'll be getting some regarding the First Touch membership. What on earth have I paid significantly more for compared to Category A (or w/e its called) membership? I sit in basically the same spot as them, and have seen no other benefits. Literally paying a lot more for nothing
  8. Fuck me, why are most A-League fans retarded? No wonder the league is fucked, the average fan must be getting paid $2 an hour and the government paying the rest to bring them up to the minimum wage, not much disposable income to contribute to the league's revenue. "Yeah Red Bull for Woop Woop South". Red Bull aren't going anywhere outside of Sydney and Melbourne, with maybe a slim chance of another big capital like Brisbane. Theyre not starting a Launceston or whatever fucking useless bumpkin town A-League fans fetishise over the league expanding into.
  9. I like it when they have Action Bronson talking about food. Haven't watched anything else.

  11. Never said anything of the sort, nor do I think it. But I deleted the post right away for a reason and you should have just left it.
  12. TTDIM: That these SJWs dont even realise they're brainwashed puppets of a Hungarian billionaire.
  13. TTIM: Losing best tote at another bookmaker because of that win.
  14. And the 3rd wins at $9, thanks for going early mate Also nice of you to comment after those two, but when I put 3 in a row in the other thread at 2.40, 7+ and I think 5+ that won not a single comment was made.
  15. Not if he was still a famous actor no, but he is choosing to do so because his fee is $500k the last I heard (probably less now but still would be decent money) I deleted it 2 mins after posting and 20 mints before the first of those races because I shouldnt be encouraging people to gamble, but I assume you're mentioning it because the first two of the three lost (and exactly why I deleted it because gambling is risky business).
  16. Pretty sure Arnie commands a lot more $$$ for that reason, young males is a huge market (disposable income).
  17. Yeah there is no chance he is under salary cap, may have been one of their current marquees they were trying to bring under cap to make him marquee. We joke about the 'player can will bring the whatever community to games', but this would probably be one of the few legitimate examples. Think there is 20k+ in Melbourne, but somewhere like Newcastle would be more in terms of % of population and if you could get another 1000 through the gates there its a big deal (assuming they could afford him). Especially with a smaller community it's more tight knit so game 1 could be a lot. Worth a look if Newcastle have ambitions of being more than a bottom team forever.
  18. Surprised you could get him under salary cap, no brainer for almost any club. Should have signed him to a new Wollongong club, easy top attendances in the league.
  19. 1. How the fuck did I miss this? 2. In all honesty this one should have been allowed.
  20. He is on some billboard in Caulfied advertising some shitty product, career cant be going too great
  21. Isnt it the whole reason the FWC exists so politics stays out as much as possible from these decisions. Both parties need to fuck off and just let them do their job,
  22. How good a president would McCain have been though. Even better than George W. Can they get rid of Trump and bring McCain in?
