  1. personally I actually agree with @xXCiTyZeNXx but I trust the other mods and they all seem to think differently.
  2. TTIM: Getting email notifications that I have to approve @Embee's posts
  3. Let them have their trams, the Bus from North Melbourne train station to Melbourne Uni is far superior (and probably the best bus route in the state). Bus every 2 minutes, not much traffic on the route so its pretty fast and reliable, only stops at hospital and melbourne uni keeping it quick, etc The western suburbs actually has the best PT access to Melbourne Uni because of this bus route. This one irked me, but the Andrews government is the first one I can remember that has actually done things for the west so cant really complain currently.
  4. I've given my reasons before and have a reasonably good record in this regard. Basically just playing senior football against grown men in a half decent league like the A-League is enough to attract European clubs because that's actually quite a good achievement and more than most youth even at big clubs are able to do. He is 20 now though so it's a bit borderline but if an 18/19 year old was doing it it's very likely and we've seen a lot of moves to Europe happen under those circumstances. Yes, most fail but I've made no assertions that he will succeed, just that he will be signed by a European team. Personally I think he is good for his age but I'm not sure he has potential to improve significantly, most players that peak at a young age do so because they are fully (Or close to) developed physically at a young age which allows them to play at a higher level at a young age but they then don't go on. Those that aren't there physically yet but can still play well generally have more potential as the physical side of their game progresses. This guy is clearly very developed physically already,so where is his growth going to come from? It would be in the mental side of the game if he is to become a high quality player. And there is potential there given hr has little experience. You singled out that yourself that his awareness and positioning need to improve, I think these things will tell the story of what he becomes, if he can gain those skills with experience then he will do well, otherwise he is probably close to his potential already.

TBH it would be somewhat unusual to allow transfer fees in a salary capped league. I am of course all for transfer fees being allowed, but loosening (or complete removal) of the salary cap should come in at the same time.

Am I just suffering from brain damage, or is Santa Clarita Diet extremely hilarious?
  7. If the government paid for this rather than this Commitee for Melbourne the bill would have been $8m and not $8,000
  8. Oh come on, 'secret side letter', it was a necessary move that had to be made because the Labor party were talking very dangerously of taking action to void the contract and bring Victoria down to the level of a third world country. It is 100% the current state governments fault, they forced the side letter with their threats, and they cancelled the contract at great cost.
  9. 11k is still more than Muswellbrook FC or whatever the fuck bumpkin town the average A-League fan gets a hard over expanding to.
  10. Don't think so, maybe I should hunt down Brazilian Bresciano for my team instead.
  11. Now that he is retired as a semi pro player, is he free in the evenings to play for my futsal team? We're struggling in tier 5 right now but have a lot of potential and solid maccas sessions after games. I can offer approximately 2 mcflurrys as a signing bonus.
  12. This actually brings me to a great idea. Let's auction off all pedestrian crossing lights. Not only do you pay to change them, but pay a fee for advertising on them. Feminist groups, LGBTI groups, even corporations. Why isn't this happening already. Get it done supreme overloads. Privatised pedestrian crossing lights, what is this free market utopia.
  13. They actually paid for them to be changed/installed? If that's true, go nuts. Can they pay for all future pedestrian crossing lights that need to be built?
  14. I'm hardly a feminist but this female pedestrian lights shit just reminds me of the old adage 'pick your battles'. It's not that big of a deal. Whose paying for it by the way, if it's the City of Melbourne as opposed to the state government then my level of fucks given is literally zero. Fwiw, it's also worth adding that I see the ability to 'pick your battles' to be a masculine trait and the opposite to be a feminine trait, and I doubt that many blokes actually give a fuck, just saying let this one through to the keeper in my opinion. Quality trolling with the school crossing signs though.
  15. Meh, he will be in Europe next season anyway so not a whole lot to talk about, wont play that many more games for us. Just hope he does well until then.
  16. Who from who joins Melbourne City. Exciting.
  17. Indeed, but it does irk me that there are a lot of examples for me personally when I want to hear a song and it's not on there. On the other hand I've found a lot more music I wouldn't have if I didnt use it so I guess it balances out. I think Steam proved this long ago, it's kind of surprising it took so long for other industries to get with the program. Ain't no one got time to be pirating when they can just pay for convenience instead. Unless you're unemployed or something. Even little kids have daddy's credit card to buy whatever they want these days.

    I wonder...

Why do you think the whole world is mad af over every little thing in life.
  19. When is Trump going to drop the hammer on Soros ffs. This alleged wiretapping sure does sound like a classic Soros move. Pls deliver Trump.
  20. You dont have to sell them a majority share
  21. I dont see why thats an issue TBH if Wellington themselves dont have a problem with it. Next best Australian team gets the spot, simple.
  22. This guy has the best Bert face. And then he brings out the laugh. 11/10 troll. But after watching that other video above about Trump I see he is much more than just a troll. Where'd fox get this guy, huge upgrade of Hannity.
  23. What do people think of the idea of selling off part or all of the league to investors? I don't mind it at all tbh, it could be huge for the league. Someone to invest some money now into greater prize money and marketing hoping it will grow the league and make them a return. Better yet, each team owns a share like the MLS. It's doable even if every club couldn't afford to pay up now, eg an investor could buy a slot in the competition and then lease it to a club for a fee. Not ideal that way but if all clubs can't afford it right now it makes it possible.
