  1. No time for patting ourselves on the back. We need to reach that level of support in the last 10 mins every game. For 90 minutes. Onwards and upwards.

  2. People who are bagging Tadic have NFI. The guy is a centre forward that needs the ball played to his feet, like all Balkan strikers. Most of the time he is flying for floating long balls or chasing down defender because of a badly directed pass What we have is the Three Stooges in midfield in Hoffman, Fred and Thompson (Germano gets off as he's just coming back from injury and does not do the retarded things the other three do). In the Roar WSW MArniners and even Victree sides he would be scoring for fun.

  3. Booing our own players... What the fuck was with the booing of Hoffman yesterday? I personally don't think he should be getting a game, not even from the bench but god it infuriated me when I heard him being booed. He simply does his best for the team and the club, is genuinely a good bloke and cannot be faulted for his effort. We need to cut out the booing of our own players, its bullshit and it shouldn't be what we're about.

  5. Yes, we can. 200 were handed out today, if people like them, and I think they did, then I'll print out more for the next home game.

  6. The win is welcome and good however: I'm not comfortable with us playing counter-attack at home however we really don't have the troops to play possession football and it's certainly effective against Roar. our positioning was much better this game but our ball retention needs to improve especially in midfield. We sta too deep after Williams was dismissed and were duly punished. It happens every time. The team actually showed some heart, and showed it for 90 minutes - well done. In retrospect Germano came off too early, but only in retrospect. The 2 attacking subs changed the game ffor us and were a good move however there were no defenders on the bench anyway. Great banner, I'm sure that it had an impact on the players

  7. Would like to thank Matthew Jurman for officially becoming the inaugural member of the Jos' Bitch Club. Faked being sore/injured just so he wouldn't have to live with trying to stop Jos the Boss for another 15 minutes. Also got skinned constantly last time he was faced with the task of trying to stop Osijek's finest. Next week Jos goes on tour to terrorise the pubeless Aaron Calver of Sydney FC and hopefully add him to the list. The young lad struggled to keep an out of form Smeltz @ bay so good luck to him in attempting to fight off the BCC.

  8. Not long home after checking out Big Bash with the membership deal. Nowhere near as entertaining as Heart, but almost saw my second "red card" of the day with Warnie. Firstly well done to Yarraside - sounded great and I think really lifted the team towards the end and helped them hang on. Usual midfield problems as mentioned above. It's embarrassing watching our passing compared to Roar, but their lack of bite in the final third for the first hour was just as bad. When they got their shit together it was a nail biting ride and Broich's chip to Beriaha was class. Defence held up reasonably well, forwards were class and thank god Germano is back. Dont know what Willo was thinking but it was a pretty reckless challenge. Red was harsh but if you dive in like that theres always a chance you will be punished. Hopedully he'll learn from it as it certainly stalled any momentum we had. Thommo is so off the boil its embarrassing and as mentioned above we do have options i favour the Marrone/Walker plan. Fred just isn't as potent as we would like. For the second game this week I've seen Garcia trying to organise cover when we've lost the ball attacking (several times) and Fred simply ignoring instructions and the ball coming out easily. The look from Garcia to Fred is not great. I think the armband is on the wrong players' arm. Will be interesting to see if Edwards gets a run next week. At least some pressure on midfield selection to raise expectations. Perplexing decisions from the ref(s) but we'll take the Tadic goal. Some fortune at last. The Garcia yellow still has me perplexed. So to Sydney with Gol Gol to start, Edwards in and hopefully Germano with a new partner in DM.

  9. Just get Butters to come back to the terrace. Instead of having Sunday as Chest Day - he can just wave the flag all game. Talk about killing two stones with one bird.

  13. Hey all. Iv never been to an away match. Think we have about 4-6 of us that are keen to go to come to Sydney next week! Wondering if we can tag along and show these Sydney siders how to drink. And how we go about getting tickets to sit with other Heart supporters. Cheers!

  16. A few Statistics have been released as follows A snap shot of the key metrics reveals; • Average TV audiences at an all-time high of 82,886, a 26% lift on last season • Average attendances at 12,925, a 23% jump on last season • Club Memberships at an all-time high of 70,000, a 12% rise on last season • Digital audiences on the FFA network at an all-time high peak of 800,000 unique browsers per month, a 46% increase on last season • Social media community in FFA channels of 350,000, a 28% expansion on last season To summarise the main point is the membership, 70,000 divided by 10 is 7,000 members per club, now take out victory from that and we standing at 6,025 means we may well be above the AVE or very close to it

  17. I agree sharpy. One of my mates who came along and is just getting to learn about the game, said it was bad form to boo your own player. I don't want to stand for that as a supporter. I don't like Hoffman in the line up as much as anyone but I will never ever boo my own. He is one of us when he pulls on that red and white.

  21. The crappy, fake MC saying shit like 'let's hear your best roar all you melbourne heart fans' and the overly loud music at games. Doesn't work and is cringeworthy. Cut this shit. Also, matches not kicking off at the advertised start times. Lack of Mel McLaughlin at home games.

  23. i think we where really loud in the first half. Solid performance by everyone, except that lull just after half time. but as young marty said, Not the time to pat ourselves on the back, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS YSIDE

  24. Another entertaining home match that got the crowd involved. We had pretty much none of these under JVS. Yarraside was so much fuller and louder than last week, the ticketing changes making a difference? Shouldn't boo our own players though, pretty shit move by those that did it.

  25. Was so awesome. Was chilling to see the newly appointed GA standing up and joining in. Even the family that's been coming with us a few times were on their feet and really getting into it. By far the best I've seen/heard active support for Heart.

  28. It really did feel like a step forward for the club. The players and the fans showed that they give a shit about this club and two wins in a row on top of it means hopefully things are turning in the right direction...although long way to go both on and off the field. The way the players rushed to JA after the red card to get instructions during a stoppage and the way the crowd lived through those last 15 or 20 minutes showed me that this club will be ok no matter the criticism almost every week.. Bravo to everyone at the game today..

  29. Is there a way they can possibly get rid of those black things draped to divide the area? I understand the need to segergate things but I can see people behind the active area wanting to get into it but the feel stupid doing so because they're on their own. Victory built their core group by getting the randoms involved and interested in jumping around. I think one of the challenges (this is coming from someone who's only now starting to get involved) is that the occasional fans feel detached from the active members.

  30. Good to see you and your mates are keen! Of course you lads are welcome to come. There's a good number of us going up due to the game being a favourable time for us all and flights being mega cheap. Details of pub will be released in due time but until then feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any help with flights or accommodation. I assume the majority will be buying their tickets at the gate.

  36. Only four of our 13 home games this season have an evening KO. All the others are 3.00 to 5.30 p.m. Makes the Eastern Side very unattractive for anyone. NOT an excuse, but I agree with Munn that it is a disincentive to people thinking about going to a match. If we want to look good on TV why not move the camera? Another thought. Other than for 'all-ticket' matches, which until our crowds increase will only ever be the home derbies, do away with reserved seats altogether. Just allocate bays for the remaining matches. So you would have 'A' and 'B' bays on the Western Side, as per demand of memberships plus tickets sold at gate, and the rest of the stadium would be GA except for the 'away' bay(s) and 'active' bay(s). I have a reserved 'A' seat, but this is not conducive to bring friends as all the surrounding seats are allocated to members (although many are empty week after week). Other than 'all-ticket' matches I'd be happy to just sit in an 'A' bay. Wouldn't perhaps always get my preferred seat, but so what? Only for an 'all-ticket' match would I claim the seat shown on my membership. Just think we could easily simplify the whole membership/ticket thing. Bring down the prices of 'A' and 'B' a little, and increase the GA a little to compensate for the above. Once upon a time in the 'good old days' you paid at the turnstile to get into the ground and stood where you liked. If you wanted to go into the 'stand' you paid a little more and got an allocated seat. Why is it now all so bloody complicated?

  37. Anyone can do that, but how many do? I don't see Fred or Hoffman with the same through ball passing ability. Leading goal scorer for Heart this season. Can bury a penalty.

  40. The problem is if I hear one more bloke sookinh about the flags I'll lose it. It gets some of the younger, quieter kids on the middle involved. and yet you still have older blokes who stand there silent for most of the game apart from complaining about having their view disrupted for small sections of the match. You're pre warned about the obstructed views, sit/stand elsewhere if you don't like it.

  42. i agree, and if gol gol can get to the point rojas is at now it'll be even better as rojas was already reasonably established at wellington before he transferred, gol gol had never scored before the perth game now he's got 3 in 5! Totally agree another tick for our development. Youth was our culture, we should never stray from it! We are very good at it. Can't wait to see Edwards and Mauk progress also.

  43. watched about an hour of Snowtown, until I could take no more. Pretty awful acting and some seriously fucked up shit. Here's a brief description of the 1st hour: Bogans. Pedos. Bogan gets fucked in the arse by his brother on the loungeroom floor. Bogans kill gay crossdressing bogan. Bogan makes some fat, ugly, middle aged bitch get naked while he sits on the chair. Bogans kill pedos. Up there with Bad Boy Bubby for Australian film quality.
