My local Danish teams former keeper Lars Høgh.

Only played for one club during his entire career.

1977-2000 Odense Boldklub - 817 appearances.

His career highlight was probably being in goal for Denmark for two games during the World Cup 1986 (Mexico), but certainly also, when we played Real Madrid in the UEFA Cup in 1994.

We'd lost 3-2 at home to Butragueno, Laudrup & Co. and for a small team (compared to RM) like Odense, it would be impossible to proceed to the next round...

Well, if it wasn't for Lars Høgh.

We beat them 2-0 in Madrid. The 2nd goal scored deep into injury time.

I still get goosebumps, when I look back at this game. You're up 1-0 against RM and you sort of laugh. You're impressed that your team has beaten the giant in their own home. But at the end of the day, you won't proceed, due to the away goal rule...but then...the unthinkable and impossible happens.

That's the beauty of football. We had 3 chances and scored on two of them. Lars Høgh kept us in the game with tremendous saves over and over again.
